What brought me joy today...
My weekly lunch date with my momma today, where she surprised me with an early birthday gift ~ cold, hard cash... just in time for this weekend! A mid week dinner date tonight with my boo... for no special reason at all. Marking another big ol' red X on the calendar ~ 2 days until the Reunion! |

Taking my Mom to the casino today. She won $75 on her first spin at the slots. :shocking:

Kind of a yucky day all around. But, I had some good laughs and a few good kind of memory tears looking through some old photo albums. Remembering silly things I did with old friends and family and how I have a couple of those friends in my life today. I am a rather solitary person, so keeping in touch is important for me to do. Tonight I will give my BFF a call in Seattle. Haven't been ablt to travel this summer, so using the phone!

Finding the perfect place to stay in Kanab, UT for a few days at Christmas because we're taking my mom to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for a volunteer vacation with the animals. YAY!!!!! It makes my heart happy to know I'll be at Best Friends will those happy fuzzy faces soon.

hearing my best friends voice this morning, the excitement in her voice talking about her wedding next Saturday. It's been delayed and the date extended several times for various reasons, but it is really gonna happen this time.

Spending the late afternoon then all evening until the early hours with two friends who are now family and their two kids. It was good to catch up, great to talk to them, and it was decided, my tlc will be going to our 'local' pub and getting very drunk! Works for me.

Making dinner and daytime plans with a dear friend.
Finding out my computer is not broken, just mental. Playing with Dugan and watching him with Lucy and watching him sleep with his new chew toy. Tamales with good people. Circus peanuts vs. cigarettes. Dinner being made for me. A surprised grin at unsolicited goodies. Dimples. Being non-intimate. I'm starting to feel more at ease here and am thinking I made the right decision. |

Making progress on a project I just can no longer put off. There will be a complete new storage shed built in my yard! It will look good!

I was in a book store and got 4 books for under $15 (including Craig Ferguson's funny & touching autobiography American on Purpose). |

After a four hour traffic jam from the office, to my 2.5 hour away destination, HAH< I checked into the most beautiful room with a patio and will get to see a glorious Pacific ocean sunset.
