If ever a place spoke to my heart and soul, it would be:

Leelanau Peninsula (in general) - Sleeping Bear Dunes (more specifically) - Port Oneida

It Means Hope... Staying Gold... it is just a symbol of a state of mind I try to hang onto. Some days are harder than others.

I consider myself a Lady and hope everyone receives some sort of luck. Don't we all need luck in our lives today? ;)

shadows papa 04-20-2010 06:41 PM

Well,Shadow is my older dog and at the time I started exploring cyberspace communities,my partner at the time referred to me as our 7 dogs and 3 cats "papa".I had no earthly idea at that time what Papa or Daddy meant in the context of our culture, here and at other sites. That understanding came later. So I picked a screen name that fitted me without truly knowing it at the time. Shad

artsyamy 04-20-2010 08:33 PM

ArtsyAmy is a nickname I picked up from friends a long time ago. . .And, I get called that or Ms. Amy by pretty much everyone at some point. . .even people who don't know those are my nicknames. . .hmmm it is like the UNIVERSE knows or something. . . .

Strappie 04-20-2010 08:58 PM

hmmmmmm well.........

Strappie 04-20-2010 08:59 PM

Ok for real... Years ago at another site. This girl and I became really good friends. Every time I entered that chat room she would say.. here comes that "Strappin Fine Butch"....

So I entered the room one day as Strappie.. and it stuck from then on. I've used this name for hmm 15 yrs or better.

chefhottie25 04-20-2010 10:33 PM

I hate to admit it...but I was some what of a womanizer when I was in culinary school. One of my fellow classmates gave me the name. 8 years later, I still can't seem to get rid of it. However...I am no longer a womanizer.

storyofmylife 04-23-2010 11:10 PM

my name came from my favorite song from the band Social Distortion and the song brings back memories of my younger days :)

Massive 04-24-2010 01:16 AM

Mine comes from an old friend, who's a lot shorter than me, who one night we were out int the club looked up at me and said "luvva you're f*ckin' massive." And it's stuck with me ever since ... To explain, I'm 5'11'' barefoot.

sylvie 07-30-2010 09:45 AM

EnderD_503 07-30-2010 10:06 AM

A spinoff from my username on b-f.com (EnderDurden), but with the inclusion of one more of my favourite books.

Ender - Ender Wiggin from Orson Scott Card's novel Ender's Game

D - Durden from Tyler Durden in Chuck Palahniuk's novel, Fight Club

but also

D_503 - Taken from D-503, who was the main character of Yvegeny Zamyatin's We (arguably the forefather of modern dystopian fiction and a huge influence on the likes of 1984 and Brave New World. If you haven't read it, do so. You won't regret it!)

I suck at creating usernames, so instead of defaulting to the uncreative UserName (because I would do something like that, lol) I just mash together favourite novels lol

i love dystopian fiction and i agree that We is seminal and shamefully obscure compared to the biggies....although Oryx and Crake is my favorite
