I have homemade socks on. Not by me, of course, because I am ill-equipped with Susie Homemaker genes but by someone. They are brown and flecked with different shades of white and beige. Heels and toes are cream colored. They are warm which is good because the apartment is freezing. This trying to save electricity and money thing sucks.

I have white socks with Tweety all over them. I couldn't find any similar pic to post. Probably for the best.

Oooh those sound lovely! One day I want to learn how to knit socks. Right now I can only knit square or rectangular things. But one day ... :) |
Pure white fluffy fleece bed socks. Not for bed though, my feet (and the rest of me) must be naked for sleeping.

Socks But No Shoes
I don't even know if I have the strength to write all this... but here we go...
So today was the dreaded match and purge black socks day (and other items). Yep, I have black socks of various lengths, hues you name it. Fun, fun, fun trying to match those puppies up. Fortunately, I was texting with a good friend, which did make the dreary chore much more pleasant. There may have even been some meta sock commentary involved. Even after the purge of mismatches, I still have way more black socks than I will ever need. My Hanes classic white ankle socks arrived in the mail. Hooray! They are quite comfortable. However, thanks to Dapper, I am now not so sure I like the length. Gee thanks, lol. (Nail clippers from California arrived fine. But how about my tennis shoes and flip flops??? Nooooo. What do I wear my new socks with? Yesterday I came home from lunch- Mexican food and a massive margarita- to find my nail clippers in the mail box and a box on the porch. Only the box was for a Jennifer. No Jennifer lives here, not to mention this isn't Bluefield Road, not even close. So I call the post office, they come and get Jennifer's box to take to her. Since I got a package in the mail box, I thought I got everything for the day. Plus I was a bit foggy from the margarita. I don't drink all that much, especially at lunch time, but trust me I needed it. But no, apparently I got Jennifer's stuff, and someone- perhaps Jennifer- got my shoes. Tracking says delivered. Yeah I guess. Just not to me. Today I get up and call the post office. The mail man brings me my socks and underwear. He says he will look for my shoes. Still no word. I call the post office late afternoon. They are gonna get back to me on that. Oh geeze. At least I got my hair cut today, that always makes me feel better.) |
nothing special-- work socks. So I'm not gonna post since they aren't "CUTE".

*BUMP*
Alert the media--I have not worn socks for two days. I even wore sneakers without socks when I went out to run errands today. *feels forehead* Nope, no fever. |
Work socks again. White, pink and gray.

This is just the kind of unprovoked aggressive response these little guys seem to encourage in otherwise peaceable non violent individuals. It's perplexing. What have these tiny psuedo socks ever done? Maybe it's karma from something they did in a past life. Maybe peds were once boot torture devices in the middle ages. |

Just no. I'm keeping Halloween in my heart and on my feet. Black and gray horizontally striped socks with bright pink heels and toes and blue, pink and orange mini stripes at the top. Orange sparkly skulls and crossbones and green and blue star shapes decorate the socks with style. Tre cute. |
My feet are going Commando.
 |
I have mis matched socks on now. Left: purple heals w red/navy stripes. Right: tangerine toes/heal w orange and bright green polkadots.
