I feel to old for OWNING those little hats that have animal ears and long droopy"paws" that hold your hands.

THis does not stop me from trying them on in every store that sells them.

What do you feel too old for...

Dodgeball. My co-worker wants me to play on her Dodgeball team. It is very tempting. I have to keep reminding myself that recently I went rolling skating at a roller rink with friends and busted my ass trying to show off with my slick moves I use to do to the disco hits over 30 yrs ago. In the last 5 minutes before closing time I got too confident and then my feet went flying out from under me as I was taking a tight turn around a corner. This is the person that use to be on the volleyball team, the basketball team, the tennis team, track team, 3 softball teams in one year and so on. And loved playing football and soccer. So, I'm still mulling over my age and if I'm ready to possibly get myself hurt. We'll see how it goes.

I am too old to imagine that I am uncovering burried treasure when I am actually shovelling. I think I liked doing certain chores more when I was a kid.

AARP starts their campaign with people at 48... I freaked when I got my first invitation to join. I threw it away and have continued to to that, but lately I've been thinking about it. Last year I turned 55 and I freaked. Now when i see anything that says senior discount I ask what age they mean. I've very happy when they say 65.

OY is right. I have a bad back, have since I lifted a very heavy thing incorrectly when I was 19. When my back, um, tweaks, it usually hurts like hell and I has happened just turning in my chair. I really am mindful now about what I do.

I wish you pain free flexibility.

I think I need a nap.

Merry,

You should watch this makeup artist on youtube.....I've been watching his videos over the past several weeks and he's phenomenal. He gives makeup tips, tricks, product reviews, etc.

Let me know what you think...

Thank you SO much for posting this link! He's wonderful and I could listen to him talk for hours LOL

This is seriously helpful and even though I know a lot of it, it's cool to see applications so I can have something to work from.

TheMerryFairy 02-26-2013 06:32 PM

I feel too old to keep up with the changing slang teenagers seem to rhyme off. LOL I had a few young guys and a couple of guys around my age come into the shop today and I swear I could barely understand the conversation between them.

It's a good thing I didn't have to understand it to do my job. I still managed to have a good time with them and carried on a conversation for about 20 minutes. Afterwards they invited me out for drinks. LOL

I may be too old for that too. At least in this situation.

gaea 02-26-2013 07:12 PM

I came right out and told her that I'm (x+never mind) years old, and blast my age, I'll be doing all those things and lots of other crazy stuff until I die. If you rest, you rust, I say.

I began to think that, except for dressing like my teenage daughter, I'm not really "too old" for much. I don't have the same social needs as a younger woman, and don't get a lot out of clubbing like a disco duck anymore, but it doesn't mean I would never go out dancing. If I made a great effort at getting into shape, I'd run marathons, but maybe flipping around in cartwheels isn't a great idea. I can't eat like I used to when I was younger, but that's a change I wanted to make anyway. But I can't offhand think of anything else.

Are there any activities that someone of (x+y) years is "too old" for, in your thoughts? How many of you have done something like bungee jumping or sky diving, or traveled to some far corner?

kittygrrl 03-03-2013 10:16 AM

To Old to not believe that what comes out of your mouth isn't true on some level

Cid 03-05-2013 08:17 PM

I feel I'm too old to get a nose ring even though I think they're really sexy.
I feel I'm too old to settle for anyone less then what I need in my life.

I feel I'm too old for one night stands (not that any age is ok)

I feel I'm too old to wear a bikini (even though my daughter talked me into it last summer)

TheMerryFairy 03-05-2013 08:23 PM

I feel too old to be carded at the liquor store, only when I forget my ID in the car.

the nose ring thing, I did when I was younger, but now in my maturity ;) I wear a teeny tiny diamond, and get more compliments on that one.

try it, you just might like it!

Too Old

I'm too old to go clubing, but not too old to dance the night away
I'm too old to drink so much that the room starts to spin, but not too old to share a glass of good wine with a friend.
I feel too old to try and complete with these young chickabiddies, but I'm not too old to hold my own, even at 58
I'm too old to date a thirty year old, but I have no problem of entertaining the thought of being escorted by a handsome butch of 45.
I'm too old to think that I can't make a difference in life - I still have lots of love left in my heart to give.
