It's juvenile and I hate myself for liking it but...God knows I would've started watching it forever ago if I'd known Holly Marie Combs was in it.....

Yanno, the show has lesbian characters....yay for gay!

JDeere 12-27-2016 11:56 PM

Children of God, a documentary about a religion but to me it was a cult.

QueenofSmirks 12-28-2016 09:23 AM

I've been binge re-watching The Sopranos. And watching Project Runway season 15. I'm almost done with both, so have to decide what's next on the list. I have so many shows saved in my queue!!!

Orema 12-28-2016 10:31 AM

I watched season one of The Crown and liked it. The series moved at a nice pace for me and I liked the seemingly honest portrayals of Prince Philip, Princess Margaret, and Winston Churchill. John Lithgow played Churchill and was outstanding, as usual. He'll probably get some awards next year.

Children of God can definitely pass as a cult

Indeed it is

Orema 01-01-2017 05:21 PM

I streamed Postcards From The Edge and thoroughly enjoyed it. Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine were good as usual.

I also have been watching season one of This Is Us and I like it. The storylines are different than what I'm used to seeing and the characters are believable. Looking forward to seeing how the season ends.

JDeere 01-03-2017 03:45 AM

I'm not one to watch glbtqi movies but I watched Jenny's Wedding on Netflix.

Pretty good even if it didn't get more then a few stars, for a rating,

JDeere 01-03-2017 05:49 AM

I just finished watching this one about 2 trans children.

JDeere 01-05-2017 01:54 AM

I am watching another documentary, called

Killer in the Family

Martina 01-05-2017 03:20 AM

Finally finished watching The Hobbit and LOTR trilogies. I have watched the LOTR trilogy every holiday since it came out on DVD. I now watch it on Amazon. Extended versions. I had to buy them, but worth the money. I was late finishing this year. Usually I start at Thanksgiving and finish by Christmas.

I enjoyed the only season of Agatha Raisin on Acorn TV on Amazon. I wished there had been more.

Liam 01-05-2017 05:22 AM

Arrow, OA, and Dancing on the Edge.

I liked OA. I was a little disappointed in the last episode but I'm hoping it comes back with a new twist.

Just finished first season of "The Crown" and quite enjoyed it. As Orema says, the portrayals are "seemingly honest"; but I just can't wrap my head around Queen Elizabeth giving Prince Philip a bj. (Can't remember which episode or I'd direct you there lol).

Can't help wondering if "Lilibet" has seen this. I suspect she's mortified. However I do know she loves "Coronation Street" and that has its racy bits too.

Filthiest Cities from BBC

*Anya* 01-07-2017 08:38 AM

Amazon:

I just finally finished Goliath last night. I really hope that they bring it back for season two. I love a good legal procedural, espescially with terrific actors.

Billy Bob is so thin, I keep thinking, each time I look at him: I hope that he is not sick. Regardless, he is a great actor and I really hope all turns out well.

Oh: also a great tittle for the show, except Billy's character is the the not the Goliath- he is the David.

Goliath is the big, fancy, expensiv firm he is suing on behalf of his client and is really the Goliath.

Clever.

cinnamongrrl 01-07-2017 09:05 AM

I'm currently watching Sister Cities on Netflix..

Total chick flick! Its keeping my attention and very few movies do this day..

Queenie 01-07-2017 11:46 AM

The husband and I just watched a documentary called, Suited. Very uplifting documentary about finding a well made suit. Not too bad on the eye candy front either if you are a femme... We have a streaming service called, NowTV. Pretty much has everything you'd want to watch from the states.

It was originally on HBO. Folks may still be able to find it OnDemand. I have not seen it on Netflix but may have overlooked it.

Yes, it was very good!

homoe 01-07-2017 04:47 PM

Yes, by all means if you get the chance to watch Suited please do! It was wonderful:hangloose:

gotoseagrl 01-07-2017 05:34 PM

I watched what I think was my favorite episode of Black Mirror so far - Season 3, Ep. 1 Nosedive. I love the powerful & accurate messages behind each episode.

Orema 01-07-2017 06:26 PM

I just streamed Hutton Garden The Heist. It was an average heist movie based on a true story. Nothing to write home about, but I enjoyed it. I only recommend watching it if you're keen on heist movies.

cinnamongrrl 01-16-2017 06:20 PM

I think I'm on season 8 of Grey's Anatomy. It's like a train wreck. Even when I hate the storyline I keep watching. It reminds me of General Hospital with all the sex. Like people really do that...

I have no idea where you'd find the time to watch tv, but sex on Grey's Anatomy might be somewhat different than how it's portrayed on GH.... I could be wrong, though, lol.

btw, your post appears twice, back to back.

It's winter and I have tons of down time. And yes I know. I don't even know how that happened. Freaky

Buckaroo 01-16-2017 08:29 PM

cinnamongrrl 01-16-2017 08:45 PM

We watched Sully. I think it was on Apple tv.

Wicked good movie.

Jesse 01-17-2017 12:03 PM

I recently cancelled Netflix, but I have Hulu and Amazon Prime and I am looking for some good winter season series. Any suggestions?

I watch Rosewood, Nashville, Chicago Med & Lethal Weapon on Hulu presently.

JDeere 01-17-2017 01:15 PM

I'm still watching Grace and Frankie.

Waiting on the new season of The Crown.

Soon 01-17-2017 01:30 PM

Excellent!

Netflix: 'In Order of Disappearance'

cinnamongrrl 01-17-2017 07:26 PM

Is Deadwood on any streaming site that anyone knows of? I started watching it many moons ago and I'd love to start it again.

Also, does anyone know about the streaming HBO site? I think there are numerous shows I'd love to watch or rewatch but I'm not tech savvy about this stuff.

Hi Soon
Did you watch this on Canadian Netflix? I was unable to find it...
Speaking of Canada, do any of my fellow Canadians have suggestions for series or movies?

Have you watched the new series, Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton on Prime? Great series. Also starting hottie and great actress Maria Bello. With William Hurt and Molly Parker (of Deadwood fame).

Also 2 seasons of the Phillip K Dick short story adaptation of The Man in the High Castle? Particularly well-done.

New great series this year: Sneaky Pete with Giovani Ribisi and Bryan Cranston

There are the three seasons of the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning Transparent.

I also liked One Mississipi with Tig Notaro.

I loved Bosch- two seasons of the Michael Connolly book series about LAPD Detective Harry Bosch. Season 3 coming soon.

Amazon has really stepped up its game in the series department. All of these will keep you busy for a while!

It is not an Amazon original series as it was on AMC or A&E but The Night Manager was quite good. It is starting Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. It is based on John leCarre's novel. I thought it was really good.

I've just started watching "The Night Of" on HBO. Interesting so far...
