I've learned that it's best to wear a pair of my white gym crew socks with a pair of longer wool socks with my boots on snow and slush days but it's good to wear a thin pair of socks with thicker socks, but not necessarily wool, on cold and dry days. For regular winter days, a good thick pair of socks can do it or two thinner pair.

I have not been to the institute of sock mental illness but then again, I've never gone to work in just one sock.

(I sacrificed all sense of fashion for that dryer part. We almost fixed it. I did put the do hickies on backwards and/or upside down three times in a row (the pieces that hold the heating coils in place) but it wasn't my fault cuz I asked first. Later I shall be wearing sporty white workout socks with gray bellies and enforced toes and heels and lime green stripes on the sides underneath wool socks in various shades of blue mixed together like yarn, but mostly uber dark blue.

It happened today.

I came across my most coveted pair of socks today unexpectedly.

I was taking my daily constitutional, when I got so cold I had to duck inside a store to get warm. Almost immediately I saw them--the lavender knee socks with the unicorns popping rainbows. I ran, not walked, over to them and completely squeed.

I am now the proud owner!

Today: turquoise and green stripes.

Crazy how things change over the year(s) --

I use to have lots of mismatched socks (purposely done), themed socks --
now I have 4 pair of mismatched, many sport ankle socks (but all colours (not including white/black), and many pairs of trouser socks that are way COOL.

It came up in my normal aol rotation for me.

I didn't believe it could actually be true, but it is. There are really cute thermal socks! Real thermal socks, not those sweet thin chenille socks that they only SAY is thermal, but aren't. I may or may not have bought several pair.
