Good morning everyone :)

http://images.eveasia.multiply.com/i...&nmid=86094572

Thank you Zimmy...we're heading towards the airport later this afternoon to get the Rooster headed back to NY. He's happy to be seeing his granny, dad and "sister"....and he's a brand new uncle at the age of 13....so he's excited to see his nephew who's only a week old. :)

I'm nervous about putting him on the plane alone, but it's a non-stop flight and we get to take him right to the gate, so I'm sure he'll be fine. He's not worried at all, of course. All I need to do is get him packed and ready...and his father is going to have to bring his snow gear to the airport since it's only about 20 degrees up there and snow on the ground.

It's windy here today...Mabel can't decide if she wants to be outside or in. :giggle: Looks like she's settled on cuddling in with the Prince, who is still asleep.

We thought about getting up early this morning and going to the beach, but didn't make it. Yesterday afternoon, we all went to the dog beach with Shadow...had a wonderful walk and some of the best seashell hunting we've had....came home with bags of whelks and many others, including some rare finds. I just love the seashell hunting...and how fun to be able to do that on Christmas day! :)

You're son's an uncle I guess his "sister" had a baby oh well it could happen...Its fucking snowing and I have to shovel I wanted to be moved by now so I don't have to shovel but I guess that is not the case..oh well what can you do. The dogs don't really like it either their legs are short and can't get through the snow at times...just watching tv and relaxing what can you do just wait for a while then go shovel...have a great day people!!

Good Evening wonderful kitchen patrons,

I hope all of you had a peaceful and loved filled Christmas.. I say onward and upward to the New Year.. I am beyond ready.

It is cold here today.. and we are getting snow.. although no accumulation as of yet.. we shall see... word has it that we are supposed to be getting some of the storm that hit Washington, D.C... etc..

Jo, I know you miss the weather up here.. I can just tell.. especially when you write about walking on the beach at Christmastime and looking for sea shells.. grins.

scoote, I hope you are continuing to take work in stride My friend.. and let us hope that the New Year brings about some changes in that area.. and I hope that your back is fairing better than it was...

Zimmy.. My friend.. all I have is this.. :| as to the ice sculpture thing.. grins.. hugs you..

morning.. I hope you are not getting snowed in up there.. given you are further North than I..

lipstix.. definately the pasta.. because I am Italiano it would be blasphemy for Me to choose anything else..

waves to Jo, scoote, Zimmy, morning, lipstix..

Here is some.. :tea: and :bringcoffee: to keep us all warm..

What exactly did you try to do its snowing like anything I couldn't even see to get the trash out I'm selling and moving to Florida where its warm and doesn't snow the hell with this crap!!

Zimmeh 12-26-2010 04:26 PM

I was trying to give the baby a winter like I had when I was 15 and living up in Michigan. Then, my silky self decided to go power walking tonight, and the temp is 29 degrees with the wind. Needless to say, one of my jackets is wet and my body is froze! I need some chili tonight to warm me up!

Keep warm,

Zimmy

Jake....hello my friend...i dont even know what to say sometimes....and if i said what i wanted at others June and them would be on me big time...lol...best i just share with Jo...as far as weather goes the wind is so cold and so strong here that i believe it cut me a new buttcrack...even Jo and Rooster are talking bout it...we are currently at airport in Orlando waiting for Roosters flight...we had to park on top deck so its gonna be even COLDER when we leave here.

We did have a wonderful day yesterday...The universe gave Jo the best shelling day yet,and the water wasnt even that cold once you got used to it...we were gonna get up at the buttcrack of dawn and go this morning, but thank goodness we changed our minds bc 29 is just too cold to be on the beach...however by midweek its supposed to start warming up a bit so hopefully we will get some beachtime then.

Well i have been sitting here awhile and no sign of Jo and Rooster so i better go see if i can find them...Thought i was in a spot they could see me,but maybe not...

anyway if i dont get back tonight hope everyone stays warm and has a good evening

later taters :hangloose:

Good Evening My friend,

nods.. I know what you mean about biting one's tongue..

laughs @ a new butt crack.. ummmmm.. you need to come up here.. if you want to talk about cold.. and the wind is just making it moreso. I am good with snow.. it is the cold and wind that I can not tolerate anymore.

I wish we had been friends when I was living there a couple of years ago.. you and I hanging out.. would have probably even made the summers more bearable.. laughs. I hear you on the sea-shelling.. I still have a bag of the ones I picked up when I lived out west and went camping on the Oregon coast. Just looking at them brings back alot of memories. I am glad you both had a good "finding" day.

Well, I hope you found Jo and Rooster.. it is never good to lose your girl and one of the chicklets (nods, that is My words for children).. laughs.

Stay warm.. and I hope Rooster has a good flight.

As Always,
Jake

Zimmy---so far so good..he has a direct flight into Syracuse...i know Boston got shut down, and was reading bout all the snow up in those parts...crazy how much there is...kind of an early start for winter isnt it?

I am sitting at security just waiting. Jo got to go all way to gate with Rooster and his flight doesnt leave till 7:45...i sure hope there arent any problems. I know he is excited to go see his brand new nephew and the rest of the family. Its a big step for both Jo and Rooster...this is the first flight on his own and of course she is just worried to death about him being so far away...luckily her mom and best friend is on speed dial if needed.

dammit i wish my eyesight was better bc theres nothing like coming to the airport and people watching...

ok guess ill go peruse the site and see if i can get into some trouble

:byebye:

JakeTulane 12-26-2010 06:06 PM

Hi again,

I am two hours south of Syracuse.. and we are just getting a dusting.. so I am thinking Rooster's flight is going to be good...I just looked up the weather for in that area.. and the snow seems to be grazing the coast.. and not so much coming westward where I am at.. and Syracuse, etc.

It is not really early.. for it...we usually start off in December.. and then January and February are the truly rough months..we usually get hit with atleast 2-3 storms within that period.. on top of the bitter cold itself.. nods..

If there is trouble to get into.. let Me know.. I might want to join you.. grins..

Jake

Jake...too bad you dont live closer...would be cool to hang out..perhaps a visit someday!

asfor the flight..its on a slight delay i think bc flight crew was coming in from JFK which of course is closed....luckily i got my laptop,my debit card and a food court so ill be good to go for awhile...

we have a TON of shells....i need to take them down to the keys and over to the gulf coast...ive been to both...found a few shark teeth on the gulf and some wonderful conchs in the keys....Florida is definitely a beautiful place...

speaking of biting ones tongue...one of Jo's family members posted about biting theirs on FB my response was"biting your tongue is like holding in a fart...it only serves to hurt you"....:cracked: unfortunately if i dont i'd likely get another time out and those arent fun...anyway think im gonna head over to McDs and get an overpriced chocolate shake....i'll grab one for u as well my friend :)

scootebaby 12-26-2010 06:27 PM

well aint this a bitch..i just got back to my seat with my shake, sat down and Jo calls saying they just cancelled Roosters flight...grrr...i mean its a good thing if things are that bad up there but we just wasted 4 hrs and still have to wait for them to rebook then head back home(1.5hrs back)...what a pain! better safe than sorry i know tho

Its very bad out there!! its is better to be safe than sorry and have to land someplace other then your destined area!! They have shakes there?? YUm that sounds great I want one now but it is too cold for a shake now will you have to go back there tomorrow when things clear up??

scootebaby 12-26-2010 06:43 PM

Lips...yeah we will have to bring him back whenever they rebook....they are still trying to get that done. dunno if its cause of weather or lack of a flight crew....wont know anything for sure till Jo and Rooster get backj to where i am

Zimmeh 12-26-2010 06:45 PM

I just saw that on the news about the flights being cancelled. I can say that Amelia Island, which is off the coast of Bradenton, FL, is gorgeous and so was Emerson Point in Bradenton.

Have a safe trip home,

Zimmy

You should go to the L'Occitane en Provence store that is near Ron Jons and pick up Jo Jo some hand cream. That is one of my fav things to spoil myself with!

Did you see the recipe I posted for a healthier version of Chikeb Marsala? That recipe was good!

I am going to ask my old roommate if I can get his homemade recipe for Marinara sauce.

Good Morning Everyone,

It's cold outside, especially when the wind blows!

Hope you all slept good and are keeping warm.

Breakfast this morning is oatmeal, grits, toast, fruit, coffee, aspirin for my headache from the heat, tea and cocoa.

I'm off to get ready, so I can meet my mom today at 8am.

Be back later,

Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)

Jake, I wish you lived closer...I can just imagine the trouble you and Scoote would get into! :seeingstars: And I do love the shelling...we're addicted.

Well, as you heard, Rooster's flight was cancelled...we had a perfectly good plane waiting for us, but no crew to fly it since they were all stuck in NY and Boston. Ironic since the Syracuse airport was open and it was a direct flight...but can't go without the crew. He has to fly direct, so the next chance was Tuesday...means he has a much shorter visit than he originally planned, but nothing to be done about it.

Scoote had to work today, including her district meeting...poor thing. Lucky me gets to sit here with coffee and an onion bagel (toasted with butter....yummy :eating: ) and watching TV. I am being good though, and am getting the laundry done at least! :giggle:

Zimmy, are you near Orlando or are you further north? I'd love to meet at Starbucks or something for a cup of coffee on one of these Orlando runs...

Lips, sorry to hear you're snowed in...used to hate that...but please do put paper down for the puppies, poor things! Our little dog hated the snow...he's just built too low to the ground to deal with it. I used to shovel him a "potty path" so he could get out easily to do his business. :dog:

Really that's what I should do shovel him a potty path but its so cold the poor things won't even go out there they are just holding it and I feel bad...too bad about your son's flight but yes we got a lot of snow yesterday its like two feet..I can't believe it I can't even shovel it its impossible to do so. I'm just waiting until it warms up and then shovel on Wed or thursday but I will get a fine for not cleaning the sidewalk oh well...
