Hi Morningstar55,
I don't understand your sister thinking for others. Does anyone ever think for your sister, what does your sister do when others think for her... Why do people do that think for others, like as they know and so push their thinking - thinking all must think like them... Why do they do that? I know I have flaws where I need to work on myself and if anyone brings it to my attention what I'm doing that's hurting others or offending, I want to change the way how I treat others. So my next question is: if people don't want to hear how they're offending so then they can take a closer look at themselves to change, why is it that they don't want to know in order to change? For me, I want to be pleasant to be around and I'd found there's times I'm not pleasant at all, and so I figure it out after wards what am I doing that's make me not be enjoyable to be around, and I seek to learn at least one thing so I can try something different in order to change. But then again, I've been told I work so hard on myself and why is that., and also I've been told I'm so hard on my self., so maybe there's needs to be balance in this too... Your sister so busy thinking for others how others must think, that would drive me crazy to be around her, cause there's no freedom of thought and no freedom to be one self... However your sister puzzles me too., as is it her pride, but what is pride then that she has? Why can't she learn, if she doesn't understand, can't there be a way where she can learn as she accepts, cause maybe she's confused, but a person can be confused while accepting, I mean, there's times I'm confused, and there's even times I'm confused about myself... So the thought of completely understanding everything, no that I can't even do all the time, sometimes I don't understand however I can accept the person and learn a new perspective through the persons eyes... I am only me and see only through my eyes, oh what a gift when I can see through other eyes as I learn through their teaching me their perspective. Quote:

OK, i like this thread, but have always been kind of put off by the title. The "over" bothers me. Why not just call it the "elders?" LOL, yes, I am an over and have to say that my 60's are most certainly of the finest vintage.... Yes, I might be being too sensitive, or politically correct. So, what do others that are 60 plus, think?

I am over 60 but the use of the word "over"...meh...makes me no never mind.,..doesn't offend me..doesn't bother me.....age is just a number to me...and I tend to not sweat small stuff as a rule anyway...so there is my .02 for what it is worth...and I understand that everyone has their own opinions...which I am respectful of...smiles...

Hey lofters...... landed in Detroit....buzzed thru Ohio along lake erie.... didn't notice any rusty rims..so gjg kept goin.haha..... anyways am heading bk thru there 2 nite. Migration camp out along the way.. im getting tired anyways have a nicely nite.

Suddenly I'm really glad I'm me. I'm glad I'm not younger than I am and I'm really glad I don't have to do some of that "stuff" again. Finally! The comfort in my own skin I've been struggling to get back!!!

Another hot one here in DC. Thunderstorms are on their way and power outages are being reported. In my neighborhood it has yet to arrive, though there were 3 water main breaks, so I am without water.

Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I've been nursing one of my kitties who got sick. It was in the 80's today with a breeze and wasn't a good day to go to the pool. Tomorrow and for the next few days we're supposed to be getting storms. I guess its because of tropical storm Beryl. Have a wonderful Memorial Day all!!!

Having a rough day. Too much stress... Friends think that my job is going to force me out somehow because of all the recent events. Workmans comp I have NOT heard from. Surgery is suppose to be june 13... worse case is that workmans comp and ins company refuse to pay which means I will have to pay for all the tests up to this point and cancel the surgery I need. I HATE my job! Aunt is giving my mom a hard time about moving into an assisted living place nearby. She is driving her room mate crazy, falling a lot, yelling etc. My mother has had to take over her finanaces and has been traveling to her place way too often. It's too far for her and I can't help her much. We want to place her closer to us, but she is going to fight it tooth and nail. I feel like I can't talk too much about my job and maybe losing it bc my Mom is under enough stress. Not sure if I can get a different job with my hand and arm the way they are. Going to have to try though. When all is settled with work/arm situation... I am sooooooooooooo out! Sigh... so wishing I had a partner right now. I am usually ok with my single status... but right now, I could use cuddle!!!

Thanks everyone. I will keep you posted. Mom takes aunt home tomorrow and mom will be at her boyfriends tomorrow night. So after I work my second job I will have the house to myself and a little peace and quiet. I need it!!

Talked to workman's comp today. Had to cancel surgery for now. Have to wait on them to make a decision on whether or not they will cover it before I can move forward. Did I tell you I hate my job? Just want all this done and over with so I can move on! I finally have a couple possibilities and now this! Jeeze!:readfineprint:

Had 2nd acupuncture treatment. She got a release out of my wrist. Feeling a lot better. The acupuncture is working far better than anything else. She thought at first I would need 10 treatments, but now she thinks just 4! I'm going to have her work on my neck and back next!! This is totally awesome!!
