More then I ever hoped for... with both presents and love today!!

I got a call from my Mama. She didn't know my name but I didn't care. Her speech is so garbled now but dammit she said "I love you, honey." THAT'S what I got! :hk13::hk2:

A day better than I had hoped for. :hangloose:

I also got myself a crush or two rejuvenated and my faith in human kindness restored. :wine:

I too had a wonderful day spent with one of my oldest, dearest, friends and with my sweet mother. It was simple, loving and joyous. I am more blessed this day than any other that has come before it.

Today was my gift.

I think it's a wonderful feeling when someone has a crush on you because they think you are funny, cute, handsome, charming, lovely.. whatever...
it's too bad we don't tell each other more how we feel.

What's even better is when you find out that you are crushing back on that person.. that's when the sparks start to fly!

I agree with you. I love that butterfly feeling & if someone has a crush on me, I like to know. Generally it's well accepted.

Even if I don't return their sentiment, I still can appreciate them for crushing on me. Plus sometimes it may make you think of someone you might have thought about before....

I don't travel to hook up with crushes, although I did that once.


It was back in early 2005 and was to meet Tmbyfem (many here will know her from the dash site and she's a member here but not active). Tmbyfem was San Diego based and I was living in Ireland so we decided to meet at a half-way point ..... New York City !!! That this happened to be Yankees territory was purely coincidental ;)


We had an absolutely fantastic weekend exploring a fantastic city and, in some respects, probably helped that it was on neutral territory.


Eight years later and, whilst we're no longer in a relationship, we are still remarkably close. Tmbyfem spent Christmas with my family & I in Ireland and we spent New Year's in London before she returned to San Diego earlier this week. A truly fantastic time.



The one good thing about this time of the year for me is establishing travel plans for the forthcoming twelve months. There's usually some excitement when booking flight tickets.


I'm intending on being State-side twice this year, which is pretty much the norm for me these days. However, I'll also be Philippines-bound again. My one celebrity crush is a Filipina singer, Sharon Cuneta, who wouldn't be well known outside the Philippines but is extremely famous there.


Bizarrely, I have been given the chance to meet her - through a friend of a friend who works personally for her, found out about my crush (well, obsession actually :lol2: ) and thinks it is cute. Time will tell if I take up the offer - I think not as sometimes celebrity crushes are better from afar and real life may ruin the crush a bit.
