I am getting ready to go on vacation in about a week, today I spent menu planning. I am going to be cooking up a storm on vacation (I don't get to do much of it in my ordinary time life). I am so excited to have people to cook for and to get to cook! I have even made special I-pod play lists.

My "Laerkin" morning: sleeping in a tad, beautiful pedicure, wandering the Farmers Market and stocking up on yummy local produce, yoga and meditation with all the windows and doors open, and then an incredible lunch of homemade mushroom risotto.

My little kitty bringing me a "present" this morning. Since she is 100% indoors these presents always consist of what is left of her favorite toy mouse and delivered with great fanfare...sometimes in the middle of the night. Smacky is 13 years old and she's loved both ears, the nose, one eye and most of the fur off of him. His remaining fur, as is his tail, is pretty stiff from years of cat spit.
I will hear my kitty coming from the other side of the house meowing loudly, though somewhat muffled because her mouth is full. As she gets closer, she gets louder. I can tell how fast she is traveling because the shot inside her little friend is rattling up a storm. Rounding the corner, tail held high, still meowing, she proudly trots over to me and drops Smacky at my feet. Naturally I make a huge fuss over her which makes her a very happy kitty and me a very happy kitty-mommy. |
the sun was coming up this morning as I opened my eyes...and that was a treat...
I woke up, literally, on the wrong side of the bed...it was quite disconcerting...and, for a moment painful...but then I was afforded some grace and it made me smile with loving memories... I feel more reminded of peace...and self confidence...and clarity... it's good...and In am thankful... now, if only I could come up with the right food to feed this constant feeling of hunger, I'd be golden :) |
My hair is no longer that terrible rusty red color and back to my "natural" dark brown! WooHoo!!!!

Am watching "Into the Lost Crystal Caves" on NatGeo Channel...they are exploring caves that look like Superman's fortress... There are Selenite crystals over 100 feet long in one of these caves! |

Waking up with him, making his coffee, a kiss good bye with an I love you..being here when he comes home from work, and then going to bed with him again tonight.

Baking 4 loaves of zucchini bread early this morning. Next, I'll do banana and pumpkin breads. Then, my favorite! A nice assortment of Christmas cookies all made while I listen to music. Ahh!
