Sooo after a full day of work yesterday 7-4 and babysitting 6 -11 (that put me in bed at 12) I had gotten a last minute phone call from friends in a pinch. So I got up at 5am babysat from 6-10, then 11 - 3... got my other clients at 11:15 (had all three together)... took them all to lunch and dollar store. Worked with clients till 4:30. I am glad for the money, but I am one tired chica!!! Managed to meet a friend a few minutes away to walk around an Irish festival around 6 tonight..we watched the sunset over the delaware, had a drink at an Irish pub.. and I was home by 8:30. ..

ok.. now.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz

Good morning all...

It's a glorious Monday when your on vacation. The rain has stopped and the sun is a shining. Looks like sparkling diamonds reflecting off the droplets in the tall grass. Notes to self, yes it needs to be cut!

Going to work on some projects I found on Pinterest. omg, I love that site.

Enjoy the day,

yotlyolqualli 09-17-2012 07:53 AM

Good morning everyone!

Busy day today... and an anxious one tomorrow cause I have to have a procedure done on wednesday and it always makes me nervous!

Got up this morning and did a thorough cleaning of my apartment... including scrubbing my kitchen floor on my hands and knee's.. it's not that big but my knee's protested mightily.. they insist they are getting too old for such abuse LOL

Anyway... it's done, I can relax and enjoy the rest of my day with an eased conscience!

Have a great day and week, fellow lofters!

morningstar55 09-17-2012 12:51 PM

Can I say that stuff like this ......

" If anybody On I-70 heading towards Terra Haute, In u might wanna find a alternate route, I been sit'n n left lane since 6:30 an looks to be here all night, Wreck is at MM-12, talk on radio said multiple fatalities, few big trucks n cars involved..."
"

I dont know how many times in the past 7 yrs , being a truck driver I have encountered things like this .....
It really makes you appreciate each day your able to wake up and enjoy another day of your life. And be grateful for it.

morningstar55 09-17-2012 06:40 PM

Ha, ... my phone just took a flying leap from thr drivers seat to a paved muddy water puddle... still works

40's 50's and over

I was getting ready to respond to a post from Anya - and as I was typing the title: 40's 50's and over - I was stopped right in the middle of stroking the "0" key in 50 - the next two words "and over"
40's 50's and over -------------how dreadful that sounded - I'm closer to the "over" part of the title and yet I don't in any way feel that I'm going to be over.
I'm newly single - this should be 40's 50's and just beginning....I like that a lot better :jester::hk34::huhlaugh::thumbsup::ballcat:

Nomad 09-18-2012 07:34 AM

sitting in my tiny "garden", drinking coffee, listening to Los Llaveros playing on the stereo next door and trying to wrap my brain around the fact that life changes on a dime. a single dime. i dont feel older. i never feel older. and today i feel younger. but younger of the unenlightened and completely lost variety and all i can think is 'why dont you know this stuff yet? you're wasting time potschkeing around. you need a plan. you need a direction. you need a life!' oy. how do people do it?

clay 09-18-2012 08:22 AM

morning all you lofters! Beautiful day here!!
Having some Greek yogurt with a touch of agave nectar on it! and a bottle of cherry flavored water!
Enjoying catching up on the threads I like reading!
Hey Ruthie...hope your weekend is a good one for you!
Wishing everyone a great week! Take care..hugs to all..Clay

Has anyone here found love after age 50?

How did you meet your love?

Dance-with-me 09-18-2012 12:39 PM

Oh and just to clarify - I'm not looking for love right now, just a sweet butch-with-benefits until I've fully unraveled this unholy mess of a marriage I got myself into (just 24 days until he hopefully closes on his house and MOVES OUT, and then I'll finally file for divorce!!). And yes I am seeing a very sweet butch at the moment but getting the feeling that she's not going to be continuing that for long :(

I'm just... Contemplating the future.

(and if you happen to know a sweet butch who is 45+ and lives within 100 miles of Delaware... ;) )

morningstar55 09-18-2012 04:53 PM

I dropped my iphone in the toilet right after I got it (clean water!) and it still worked!

Still blows my mind.

Hey Dance, well, at least you got to (aherm) dance with the sweet butch right? :D

Isn't it sad that we think that age might be a barrier to finding love? I hope you do, we all deserve it. :awww:

Oh yes, she ::ahem:: dances very well!! ;) I just think the distance between us is a big barrier to it going anywhere -- and is likely going to be a barrier for a lot of people I might meet, because there just aren't any butches around here that I've found (as others here from this area has attested to!), and I'm not willing to move since my grandkids are here and I have a great job that I hope to stay with until retirement (which is a MUCH bigger issue at this age and in this economy), and yet I can't reasonably expect that anyone's going to want to move here (not that I'd be willing to jump off THAT bridge any time soon, anyway!). And yet I also can't reasonably expect someone to accept a long-term long-distance relationship.

Ah, well, I don't want to sound as if I'm whining, which I'm really not, just being pragmatic.

Long-distance relationships CAN work. There are plenty of blossoms here on bfp who have/are in successful ones (I think there's a LDR thread). Don't count it out! :)

LadyRieinAL, it was really nice to hear your interpretation of the title to this thread. I think we should take a vote to change the title of this tread...as long as the tread starter doesn't mind.
It is true isn't it? We are as young as we feel and think. You have a good attitiude. Me...not so much. Nice to hear your positive spin though. It is funny cause i am the 40 something and i bet i feel and think and act older than ancient.

Aw, now i am getting all soft about this...
I did have a good time talking to and holding open a door for a pair of 2 older couples that i met today. They were adorable and happy together. It was neat.

DMW

I see that it is Jet. Jet is cool from what i have read. Bet that Jet wouldn't mind.

Whhhhhoooow,
You have got to get yourself some of these if you are scrubbin a floor on your hands and knees like that.
http://www.constructiongear.com/dewa...utm_medium=ppc

You must...it's like being in a confessional without em. That smarts!
I did tile without them once and that hurts! I mean that hurts! I remember a girl i was with once
was on the floor doing that and i was like...you did what? I swear i should have done more
mopping of that house than i did. Still bothers me now cause i bet she did it more than the time i found out that she did. That really does hurt. Use a towel or something.
I hope you can get these for yourself.

Have a great day with whatever you have to do!

Good morning all..

I hope everyone arrives safely to your reunion. As a newbie, I see the camaraderie among you all. Have a great time and bring back tons of memories.

As for me, it's the last day of vacation and I have already checked when the next one happens. Five weeks will be here before I know it.

It's a beautiful day in the hill country, here's to a wonderful Wednesday to all!
