Woke up to sleet and ice. The meteorologists keep using words like "catastrophic" and "extreme" followed by "ice." Hope it is just hyperbole. Atlanta is "the city in the trees" which is great...until those trees are weighted down by ice. Hoping we keep power but if not, food, flashlights, sleeping bags and a fireplace are at the ready. :vigil: Also board games and Legos!!! :hangloose:

seeing that Georgia will be hit hard. I also heard that NJ and north where I am is going to get his hard. Another snow day for my kid, begging my other kid not to go to work in the morning because I don't want her to drive home in the afternoon.
Went to Trader Joe's yesterday after work and the shelves were already empty. |
This is a rhetorical question. How does a town in NJ where people pay a Gazillion dollars in taxes run out of snow? Lol

Red warnings have been issued by the Met Office today for 100mph winds in various UK locations. The North West, where I am, is one of the regions hit.
It's not a day to cycle anywhere so being able to stay home all day today, I did. A couple of roof tiles crashed into the garden earlier in the day. This evening Ms.Sponsorliscious picked me up to go the meeting and there was so much debris flying around it was dangerous. We narrowly avoided a rather large tourist sign that had uprooted and lay in the road. Another fellowship member saw a old dude lifted and flung into the road by winds only to have a car run over him and drive off. :| It's still really windy but the ferocity seems have decreased a little, at least for now. |
