A close friend and her boyfriend came to visit today. I have known her for almost 30 years. We sat around talking about the stuff we use to do growing up<chuckling>. It was AWESOME to see her and pictures of her little two year old grandson I still cannot believe she is a grandmother)!

I finished 6 more bags today...
I designed and cut out all the pieces for 5 more bags today as well I wouldn't say that I am *joyful* about it, but I do have a sense of completion and satisfaction in a job well done...and then next set of projects ready to go tomorrow... it's good |
A really beautiful sunny day that started with an early breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes with warm strawberry syrup and YUMMY Vanilla Cream Coffee.... then a long, slow drive through the country to see fall leaves, ending up at the farmers market.... homemade applebutter to send to my nieces, cinnamon honey sticks, very fresh collard greens...companionship and friendship with fun, heartwarming laughter...the smell of homemade pumpkin & apple breads at the farmers market...a fascinating and neat stroll through McCloud's Antique Car (and "country stuff & tools") Museum (THAT WAS SO COOL!!) stopping for Hershey's Butter-Pecan Ice Cream in a crunchy sweet waffle cone before going home... watching Willy have a BLAST ripping about with his new sock monkey, then cuddling with it and using it as a pillow... enjoying a very good, restful nap where I rested much more than last night...(until Tashi and other muttlies started barking at some crazy squirrel teasing them) watching all the kitties and muttlies be so happy when fed soft food so I can fatten them up for winter... Enjoying a nice, peaceful evening and a yummy homemade crispy chicken & bacon ranch salad dinner... knowing I can cuddle & snuggle under my favorite quilt, handmade by my best friend, on this very chilly night...as she said it's like "wrapping yourself in a hug"... bad feelings and stress being evaporated by a beautiful day.... |

What brought me joy today....
Is a weekend full of fun plans. Tonight is Friday night date night, which consists of dinner & shopping at Target. *I know it's nothing spectacular, but I LOVE our Friday nights* Saturday, plans to go see the matinee showing of Harry Potter :popcorn: Sunday, I'm going to breakfast with my mom and then we are heading out to a small town Trade Days to do a lil' looky looin'! |
The memories of my Grandmother, who died today at 101. She was an amazing, strong, graceful, bossy and always perfectly dressed! I will scan a picture today and post it of her.
I got my sense of style and grace from her. She always wore Coty's Airspun powder since the 20's and I wear it to this day to smell like her. Millions of times I heard her say, "Just give me a minute to put on my lipstick and powder my nose." http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...ra/airspun.jpg She was my childhood joy. She had more shoes and purses than me. She was a determined and an amazing woman. She is now with my Grandfather, probably bossing him around. I loved her. She was a joy in my life. May the fairies meet her in Avalon. May they dance with her through gently falling apple blossoms to Benny Goodman. |
A femme lawyer/friend and I working out a fantastic, life changing, back patting, bear hugging, business deal. I'm mad with Joy today! :)

After a busy, hectic, sad night at work yesterday, I got a text from Dixie that she was up. Way earlier than I thought she would be up. I just needed to hear her voice (we text all the time but I hate actually talking to anyone on the phone so we don't call very often).
Hearing that sweet, sleepy voice. Those cute giggles. Talking about her adventure at school on Friday trying to find her building. Hearing her excitement and plans for school. Brought me great peace and joy this morning. Oh how she brightens my days. :D |

Chatting with my little 6-year old nephew on the phone. I called to talk to his mom, but when he kept shouting for her to come to the phone, he just sat back and said, "she's not coming right now", so I just sat and talked to him for a while. Later he said, "let me try to get her now", and proceeded to shout for her again. She finally came to the phone, but it was such a treat to talk with him, sounding all grown-up like a little man.
