1. I'm so uncomfortable with heights that my stomach drops when I look *up* at a tall building.

2. I constantly fantasize about remodeling my house.

3. I wish I still lived in Pennsylvania, where the seasons are more manageable and my family lives close by.

4. I'm not sure if my daughter will ever be able to live on her own, or if I'll have the courage to let her. I'll worry about her safety all the time, due to her medical problems.

5. I love paying my bills. I am grateful to have the ability to be responsible for my own life, financially.

labete 01-07-2010 12:37 PM

1. My 30s have been better than my 20s, which were better than my teens, which were better than my early childhood. I'm looking forward to what my 40s bring. :dance2:

2. If all goes according to plan, I am only about 6 months away from being an empty-nester. I have never lived alone before and am trying to prepare myself.

3. I keep chopsticks, dog treats, and coffee in my desk at work at all times.

4. I have someone really special in my life who barely does email and doesn't do forums or other online communities at all.

5. I like reptiles, especially snakes and geckos. It makes me angry when someone kills a snake merely for existing. Not many things make me angry, but wanton killing is around the top of the list.

Bonus: In the last couple of months I've had my first ever revenge fantasies, all featuring the incompetent consultant I'm currently required to report to at work, who makes huge, business-continuity-threatening mistakes and blames them all on me. :sado:

Sweet_Pea 01-07-2010 02:54 PM

1. I am addicted to the Twilight Saga, and the Sookie Stackhouse Series.

2. I am half Puerto Rican and half Mexican but cant speak spanish (only the bad words hehe)

3. I like to cook an think i am pretty good at it too!

4. I love senseless comedy (Fanboys, Sex Drive, Superbad, Half Baked, Southpark)

5. I work 2 jobs and have 4 kids and LITERALLY have no time for myself

Gemme 01-07-2010 07:57 PM

This post is being brought to you by my stomach...

1. I love Corn Pops and Fruit Loops, but not together.

2. I've eaten about 8 Jolly Rancher candy canes tonight.

3. I'm going to make guac tomorrow. My new favorite snack is guac with salsa and chips. Before this past year, I never cared for guacamole.

4. I'm making a crockpot full of bacony pinto beany goodness this weekend.

5. I used to be more of a Pepsi person, but as I've aged, I've switched camps to Coke.

Jet 01-08-2010 05:54 PM

I'm a designer and a white pager.
I rely on my instincts in the creative process
which works 9 times out of ten.

I don't do cock fights or pissing contests.
My person is as common and rugged an old western
and I'm secure with those qualities.

I'm a practicing Catholic as far as my heart allows, not as the church allows.

I don't like vulgar language except in bed.

I'm quiet and unpredictable.

Queerasfck 01-09-2010 11:03 AM

I like lists.

  • I enjoy movies from the 1970's and make apretty watch them with me over and over again.
  • I'm back in the classroom for the first time in over 20 years.
  • I was the MC for my junior high school talent show. It was the last time I participated in an extra curricular school activity.
  • I enjoy the public library.
  • Real pizza is my favorite food. Ham and pineapple on pizza is not an option.
  • I'm addicted too Bubble Shooter.

Dragonfly 01-09-2010 01:41 PM

Hmm..

1. I am irrationally afraid of non domesticated rodents, bats, and poisonous snakes and spiders. Other than the fears listed I love all animals and have had mice and hamsters for pets and currently have an albino corn snake as a pet.

2. I battled anorexia and my self image in high school. I have traveled very far from that place. I no longer allow myself to intentionally starve and learned how to let food be a small part of life not a big part or the center of my life. I still have irrational and low self esteem and avoid looking at my body to prevent the past from recurring.

3. I play the flute and have always listened to classical music. My favorite composer is Mozart and I love Ammadeus the movie. Didnt care about accuracies.

4. I have been depressed for too long and its not easy for me to be positive and hopeful. I work very hard at it.

5. I can accept and love anyone, flaws included, forgive and give multiple chances for any mistake made. But lying and deciet will cause me to become paranoid and is the fastest way to lose me, friend or family or lover. Because I am so accepting and loving it makes it impossible for me to overlook it. There are no reasons to fear being honest with me. So once the lying happens, I need that trust rebuilt and efforts made to believe that person again.

Ok.....this made me snort milk outta my nose.

1. I play the flute, too. I used to think I was really good, but now I know that I'm not. I played for a while in a community orchestra, and might do that again some day.

2. Although I'm an emotional, sensitive person, I see no reason to argue bitterly, raise voices, or slide into irrational behavior when disagreeing in a relationship. When that does happen, it takes a piece of me.

3. I would like to lose weight and get into better shape before my 50th birthday in August. I *always* wait until the last minute....

4. I feel better when my children are with me. Even at 17 and 22.

5. If I could, I'd move to PA to be closer to family. I don't see that happening while my daughter is still in school and getting services from local agencies.

Jet 01-11-2010 02:18 PM

I admire talent in others more than anything.

I wanted to be a screenwriter; it will never happen.

I've had a "one-in-about-500,000,000" experience that I survived but shouldn't have.

If there were no tomorrow for me, I would be good with that.

I'm generous unconditionally.
