Escargot with garlic butter. Now I'm willing to try all kinds of foods, but I couldn't get past the fact that the rubbery-buttery texture in my mouth was that of cute little snails. Couldn't even swallow, I wound up dry heaving it out.

Eating escargot in the windows of the world restaurant on top of the world trade center when I was a teenager. It was slimy and chewy. Disgusting!

You know how Whole Foods puts out samples? Well, one time they put out a delicious looking sample that I mistook for cheese spread. So I tried some on a cracker and thought I was going to die. There was a taste explosion of metallic blood and meat on my tongue, and I was trying desperately not to vomit in the middle of the store. That was the first time I tried paté.

Deep fried mushy peas.
I'm a really adventurous eater and tried and loved a lot of things many people wouldn't try. But deep fried mushy peas made me spit it out on the pavement after a date bought it for me to try at a chippy and I'm really not that ungracious of a guest. It was the vilest thing I've ever had in my mouth. Including the weird crap at the dentists. |
........... Okra ...............

I don't know if it's necessarily the ickiest, but I definitely will never eat it again
when I was 16 my friend April and I volunteered for a booth for the annual Fiesta in San Antonio. (Belgian waffels!) when we had our break, she force dragged me through the crowds to a food booth and made me eat this weird meatball shaped item. Cow testicles my friends, also known as mountain oysters, are not to be eaten without some sort of beverage. super salty to say the least. I was 16, and all anyone was selling was beer. Now, isn't that just the way. a close second is probably Vietnamese food (I always wonder what kind of meat it is), mussels and veal. I looovvves okra tho. nom nom nom! |
I too, had the trick of Rocky Mountain oysters. Some uncles thought they would be funny. But I sorta liked them!
Ok, even though I'm in the huge state of chicken fried steak, I just can't figure out that flour mushy gravy! Or...that mushy dumplin with the other chicken! Or...that melted velveeta cheese, disguised as queso! |
um..
okra....gag

Raw oysters. I love them fried or grilled, but raw oysters I cannot handle.

Heard about this on CBC News yesterday so please don't shoot the messenger.
"An Icelandic micro-brewery has announced its new beer will be flavoured with smoked whales' testicles... The Stedji brewery's Hvalur 2 beer is being sold for a limited period to mark the Icelandic midwinter month of Thorri, the Visir website reports. The testicles of fin whales - which are an endangered species - are cured "according to an old, Icelandic tradition" before being salted and smoked, with one being used per brewing. "We want to create a true Thorri atmosphere, and therefore we decided to use smoked testicles from fin whales for flavouring the beer," says Dagbjartur Ariliusson, a co-owner of the brewery. "We put a lot of effort into this and it's a long process." Sheep shit is used as fuel for the smoker. I can't imagine ever getting that thirsty. |

Well, who lives in a pineapple under the sea, it's definitely not a whale ball. You know you were licking your dry dry lips reading this testicle. Big ole jug for ya! Arrrrrrr :piratelaugh: |

Malt-O-Meal. Even the smell of it sends me into dry heaves.
I grew up on liver and onions, okra, pickled eggs. Love them. Funny how we all have such different ideas of yuck. |
