BB gun target (above). Just one example of the mostly unsupervised "activities" (archery range, and boating on a RIVER, etc.) that were allowed at the summer day camp I attended in the 60s. Somehow I emerged without shooting an eye out -- good times!

my brother loved to shoot at me with this. He always put a jacket on me so i wouldn't feel the pain :|

My grandmother used to fix me cinnamon toast with at least 1/8" of cinnamon sugar on top -- probably contributed to a mouthful of amalgam fillings, but good memories of our time together nonetheless!

It didn't burn as bad as iodine, remember? But. It's lethal. Many a knee in the neighborhood, including mine (i do not hide my klutziness) had orange knees!!!

We probably all glow in the dark. Maybe that's why we all enjoyed the Disco era so much.

mosquito truck still doing that in my area.

i remember as a kid ... there were sisters that lived across from me, neighborhood. i wasn't quite old enough to keep company with them but MY sister was. they would ride bikes through the spray/fog, and one day they were close to a ditch. one sister hollered with her hands off the handle bars, "i'm in heaven! i'm in heaven!" then all of a sudden she hit the ditch (rather deep ditch). the other sister said, "not anymore. you are in hell!" i remember loving to hear MY sister tell that story. still do.

Mine too! It was comfort food for her during the WWII and she always made it for me while telling me stories about the house she lived in with my great aunt while their husbands were off at war. They both had such wonderful stories of the time, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and fudge they made with what they had of war rations. I grew up hearing all about those days and they were both all smiles and laughter when they told the stories- it seemed like the happiest times of their lives.

What's really funny is the stuff that we had around as kids that's come back. Those toe socks, for one. lol

Fashion recycles every 30 years or so.

Really? Kids did that?

That stuff was putrid! I ran inside when they started spraying. It made me gag.
