Workout done, errands done. Now I can enjoy the rest of my day off!!!
|
Got my exercise in this morning...did an hour and a half of yardwork...raking, weeding and mowing.
The back yard looks great, and I was absolutely dripping in sweat. :) |
Gotta catch up on the past couple of pages still...
I did not do cardio yesterday. This morning we logged 42:30 total and 30:30 of jogging. I'm going to *attempt* 30 consecutive days of this walk/jog thing. I worry about setting a goal like that because it's so easy to skip a day, but I am going to try. So for today...... One day down; 29 more to go. |
Today I start eating only fruits and veggies- 50% raw, some baked, cooked, grilled. I'm going to try this for a week along with 30 oz of green juice. I am not going to stop coffee this week but will drink one cup less the cream and agave. I MAY eat some bread IF things get insane for me but my goal is to only consume fresh fruits and veggies for one week and see where to go from there.

Just did 25 minutes on the stationary bike. 7 miles for 210 calories.
:| That's me, folks - a 292-pound woman busting ass on the stationary bike. If my ass wasn't numb, I'd do more. I am proud of myself. This can be done, even if it's baby steps or one mile at a time. When I started exercising, I could barely walk 10 minutes on my treadmill. :) |

ounds like you are getting use to the bike some,I will get better over time. When I first started working out I thought I was in better shape than I was,I got a real good surprise in that I wasnt as fit as I wanted to be.I bought a tredmill from the goodwill but it never felt as stable as it should have been so I sold it,the ones at the wellness center are huge compaired to the one I had,on my first day on the tred mill I prolly sealed my fate in pain cause I tryed the epilitical thingy first wich caused major pain in my left thigh like a bear was chewing it off..so after a fue trys I quit then went to the tredmill.I didnt get a half mile the first time, the next day I did 1 1/2 miles then the next I did 2 miles..a major achivement.I still havent been able to do much on the eplitical past 5 minits with out a spaz hiting me in the thigh,I have no clue why cause it and the rowing machine bother my left thigh or knee.I do know he eplitical can burn some serious calories is why I want to be able to spend some time on it.
Over the weekend when ive had time ive used my own equipment to work out on,plus I played 30 minits of basket ball multiple times today, plus put in time with weights. Now that its been so cool in the evenings im walking a good bit,I figure a little hear and a little there more weight will come off. |
Yesterday afternoon, my son suggested that we go to a mexican restaurant nearby for dinner. He almost never does this; in fact, when I ask if he wants to go out to eat he generally says no...he prefers my cooking. :)
So....Labor Day....his suggestion...sounded great to me...we went. I decided not to try to follow my new eating pattern, but to simply order what I wanted and enjoy the meal. I ate the chips and salsa (they have really yummy ones)...and ordered a meal that I've had many times before. Normally, I clean my plate. Last night, I ate all that I wanted....and realized that, even feeling stuffed, I had only eaten half of what I normally would. My stomach has definitely shrunk. This morning, the scale was holding steady....same as it read yesterday. :cheer: Today, back to eating normally.....black coffee, 1 slice of whole wheat toast with tuna salad for breakfast. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! :rrose: |
well I made it through the day all juice, fruit and veggies. My salad with a little bit of EVOO. By 8PM I was climbing the walls, broke down and ate a piece of bread. I need to keep working at it tho. I don't intend on only ever eating just fruits and veggies but wanted to transition to make fasting easier. I'd like to fast a few days a month with only green veggies juice.
Wanton Boi came over to clean for me and really wanted me to make lamb curry for him. I'd like to cook it for hym but I know I'll break down. I'm a real foodie especially for fine foods. Hy will just have to wait. I was watching extreme couponing and although I think its great they can save so much money I cringed at the baskets of stuff they are buying. So much processed food, so many chemicals and packaging. It made me wonder who is really sponsoring these shows? Know what I mean? For me being healthy also means respect for the environment. These past few years I am learning about a connection that is total. A balance in everything I do. It's a multi-fold process for me. |
I feel GREAT today. Don't know if it was the exercise last night or that I have started buckling down a little harder on nutrition but whatever it is, it's worth it!
I got out and mowed the yard yesterday and did some cleanup around the house. Had the windows open most of the day to get some fresh air. It really does a soul good to get some good, clean Ozark air! I was thinking about how my diet has changed even from a year ago. Thought I'd share: A year ago, this is what my food intake would have looked like: Breakfast: 2 Tylenol Redbull 1 cup of coffee with full-fat creamer Midmorning: 2 Diet Cokes Lunch: Pizza or something fried One of those giant Otis Spunkmeyer cookies a huge Diet Coke Mid Afternoon: 2 more Diet Cokes some kind of candy bar Dinner: Chicken fried steak with gravy or a heavy carb-loaded meal with very few veggies More Diet Coke or Red Bull Before bed: Ice cream and Diet Coke Sleep: 3- 4 hours a night. Jeez. No wonder I felt like crap! Now my intake is like this: Breakfast: an occasional 1/2 cup of coffee with sugar-free creamer water oatmeal (no sugar) with fruit or yogurt or smoothie Mid morning snack: more water some kind of fruit (usually grapefruit, pluot, or apple) v8 (spicy hot or low-sodium!) Lunch: some kind of lean meat (usually chicken), a steamed green veggie, and a salad more water Afternoon snack: either a Fiber One bar or fruit or carrot sticks more water Dinner: Lean meat (super small portion) 2 steamed veggies (mostly green unless I do squash) and a dinner salad more water I do an occasional after dinner snack of a sugar-free banana popsicle or grapes (small portions!) Sleep: 5- 6 hours a night! I haven't taken Tylenol for knee pain in over 4 months. I haven't had a Diet Coke in almost 6 months. I'm exercising regularly. Big change! Feel great! |
Wow! Isn't it amazing when you look at the big picture like that?
You're doing a fantastic job...and no wonder you feel better!! :cheer: Quote:

Today I am not motivated to go to the gym, working out is becomeing a bore,I have changed it up every way I can but in the end its the same.Im going to go anyway but my heart isnt in it.I gess one reason is that im stuck in a rut with the scales,no mater how hard I work out ot cut my carbs and calories it stays at the same weight..I cant drop things to low or im going to have some kick backs I dont want to deal with.Off to run a fue errennds then hit the gym..no really im going.I think I need to be doing something with all this getting fit besides contenual working out...gotta think on it cause if u dont run, bike or swim around hear what t do?I checked.

I remember reading a ways back there that you're on a really low calorie diet....like 500 or 600 a day? If so, I wonder if your metabolism is responding by hanging on to each calorie. I'm no doctor or dietician, but I've heard that that can happen with ultra low calorie diets... |

I *love* the spicy V8 but really insist on the low sodium for obvious reasons. So I throw in 6-8 drops of hot sauce to the low sodium to get my kick!! |
Today's cardio: 38 minutes total; 28 minutes of it jogging
Also did weights (upper body) So far today I've had: 1 cup of coffee (1 point) Greek yogurt w/blueberries and granola (4 points) EAS protein drink (3 points) Whey shake w/strawberries (3 points) |
Sleep is absolutely essential and not just any sleep but good sleep. I use to be fine with 6 hours but as I get older I fine that I need at least 8, 9 is perfect. Getting enough rest and sleep is very important in weight loss and over all health. I have periods where I just can't sleep. Every other month for a few days. Also when I keep Mia, my granddaughter, I wake up with each toss and turn. It throws me off cycle and effects me for days. I listen to audios at night to help me sleep deeper.
I have decided that there are a few things I most likely will not give up: Crusty Artisan Bread well made cheeses- goat, blue cheese, guyere and the like. Therefore I think I will spend this winter mastering the art of bread and cheese making. I have a vitamix so I'm going to purchase organic grains and grind flour. Practice making really healthy but yummy fresh breads. I can buy raw milk in NC, or so I'm told so I'll practice making cheeses. I've done both bread and cheese before. This time I'll take it to a whole new level. |
