See, I take a different approach to that: when folks tell me I don't look at all like I'm 53, I tell them that this is what 53 looks like, not their presumption of someone looking a lot older!

I am glad you are going in Ruthie. I hope you don't take anything to cause the bleeding...like ibuprophen and plavix...i don't know if you are on plavix but, that can cause it too. i haven't had a chance to read all about it...i have been watching. worried face...i am sure that the dr's have checked to see what drugs could be upsetting or possibly causing the bleeding. I realize you aren't bleeding anymore but, good to find out why..
Not anemic is good...chrons and celiac..humm. Meaning, i doubt you have those issues because you are not anemic..phew

Thanks! Yes I understand about the body aches. I have an issue with my right knee and I hobble around sometimes like I'm 80 years old or something.

Oh God...I wonder what I'm going to feel like when I'm 80???

I was soooo happy that I could dance as much as I wanted. And I wasnt in too much pain the next day. Maybe its because I wore somewhat sensible shoes. (and the alcohol?)

I can't believe I'm happy I wore sensible shoes. Gah!

It may be an ulcer. I have cronic reflux (born with it) so all that extra acid could be causing the trouble. I also have celiac but have been wheat free for about 6 years, so I shouldn't be having trouble there. Of course, it could have caused damage the rest of the 40 plus years I didn't know I had it.

Anyway, got an appt for October 18th so I will find out more then. I'm sure I will end up with tests, but at least we may find out what is going on!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello all, Happy Sunday! Going to a dance in Philly today. Should be a lot of fun. Some people I know, some I don't.. It's a at lesbian club called Sisters and the dance is the "Back in the day" dance... music starts from the 60's and moves up to today. Love it!

ttyl, gotta put on my dancin' shoes! :blueheels:

Thanks Little Feather... I hope we all get well too!

Question for the butches:

Had a great time at the dance. Met (actually remet) a nice butch woman. She seems sweet and assertive ...2 traits I admire in a butch. We danced a couple slow dances..we dance well together. That doesn't always happen. She is a little older than I usually would date, but her smile and personality drew me right away. I had seen her at Sister Space, but I was busy chasing someone and she was busy chasing someone.. lol sooooooooo .. we never got to know each other better. She just got home from the dance and already sent me an email and asked me to go out with her this week. How about THAT!! Nice to have someone want to be with you that much! Now the question is , do I contact her tonight..or be a little coy and girly and wait a day? Ok Butches... advice please. I don't want to appear too anxious, but I don't want her to feel like I'm not interested. What do you think?

Not to derail but this made me smile. I haven't been to the Weekend in a dozen years since the timing is terrible for me (right after school starts) but I was heavily involved with SisterSpace and the Weekend for many, many years when I lived in Philadelphia. In fact, a moment at a SisterSpace weekend features prominently in my stories of coming into my own Femme identify. So glad to hear of someone who is still going there - and glad to hear that there are butch/femme chasings and sightings going on!!

Ok, when you email or text someone, do you want them to respond when they can, or wait until they get around to it? It's one thing to not check your messages, but another to ignore them. You received the message, so why not respond to it?

What kind of photography do you do? Are you able to make a living out of it?

I think the best advice I can offer a femme is to be YOU. No facade, no "lemme try to be who they want", no games (unless they are games you are both into). JUST BE YOU. After the wooing, YOU is what remains, so why not start off with that? Plus, having met in person, I think YOU is wonderful

Thanks Mel, I needed to hear that right now!!You are very sweet!

Apparently, this woman doesn't share your opinion. I am ok, I guess, but the fact that my mother shares my home (mind you she is independent, healthy, is not here 2x's a week, very accepting of me and my friends/gf etc) and that I have a dog... well, that put the brakes on it. Wow... really?

Oh well, such is my love life recently....

on top of that, my dog has been ill the last 24 hours. Was trying to figure it out... finally I realized my mother had given her a steak bone from her dinner last night. Bella has a very sensitive tummy and cannot eat but very spacific things. So here I am, up late, washing her bedding, cooking rice and will have to get up early to cook her chicken (had to get it out of the freezer and is just starting to thaw) so she can have it for breakfast. She is still throwing up. I am exhausted! Only had Sunday afternoon off from working and will work straight through to the weekend. 2 jobs on tues and thursday. urrrrggggg

:ohm: Can somebody please help me find my happy place!!!

Poor baby. I am sorry to hear things aren't great. I am a big fan of being real. I have major highs and major lows. If someone only sees one or the other, they don't know ME. I figure, put it all out there and the ones who are skeered aren't the "right" people to be in your inner circle. Sometimes people just need to absorb for a bit and then they come to their senses.

I'm also wishing your pup a better tummy.

HUGS

Wow! Lots of action in here, yaaaaay! :D

Ruthie, hang tight!!! I share your struggles!! I'd love to be able to connect with other women, there just isn't a place like that in my community and everyone I know is partnered, sigh....

It's rainy and nasty out this morning and since I'm still in recovery mode I think I'll nap then head off to the gym for a little light rehab.

Hope everyone here (Welcome New Lofters!!) has had a great start to their week!!

hiya everyone ! I would love to join this Awesome group of people. I am 42, a mother of three( son is 25, then two daughters 23,and an almost 16 yr old) and a grandmother of a nine month old grandson. I feel older than I am sometimes, especially admitting that i have a 25 yr old, but then I have to remind myself i had him two weeks before I turned 17.

Jumping in...

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to be part of this group as well...
I'm 49 and am having a great time and a hard time with myself right now...lol

I'm in transition, I moved last year, downsizing since I'm now an empty-nester (but that's getting easier)...I'm in a healing place right now, as far as my heart is concerned and I'm really needing/looking for a safe/comfortable place in our community, if you will. This feels like that place.

So, I hope it's okay if I stay awhile...?
