Fixing my furnace all by myself!! AHHHH.... I have heat! I am warm! and I didn't shell out bucks to someone to do something I can do!! Of course, what I did is not connected to anything having to do with gas... no boom-booms here....

Getting an A on a paper I worked my ars off on and FINALLY getting positive feedback from the toughest professor I have had thus far!:seeingstars::seeingstars::seeingstars: and.....knowing I have a four day weekend coming up with my kiddos :) Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Let's hear it for that A!!!! Damn, those were very hard to get from me as a prof! But, WOW, did I ever have some bright students and have to sayfrom the other end, marking that "A" on what was obviously from an arse working student felt damn good to me, too!

Crisp, sunny day which means a long walk with my pooch looking out at SF and watching shore birds feed.

I can't say , cause it's a secret :cigar2:

my holiday plans were changed and I am cooking a turkey instead of traveling to a relatives ...

but when I went to look for the heirloom roaster, it was nowhere to be found...

I spent five hours panicking...

then my niece called and said she had it..I had brought a turkey over for a holiday event and never brought the roaster home.

OMG...I was so overjoyed not to have lost it...I have lost so many things over the last decade due to break ups. Thank heavens I have it!

Watching squirrels, all puffed out, chasing one another on the bare limbs, of the maple and apple trees; and watching the juncoes chowing down, at the feeders.

Buying a Christmas tree....decorations. Putting it all up and having someone to put the star on top!!!!! Getting my house all decorated with pretty sparkly things. Horrayyyyyyyyyyyyy for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

having the best thanksgiving I ever had, with friends and family. Simple, sweet, loving, complete. Looking around and realizing there was no one here that caused me grief or pain. How grateful I am for that!

Teasing with my son... He will not tell me what time his flight is coming in...(he wants to just call and say.. I'm here and I'm not going to ask)... I have now taken to updating the face book with what I'm cooking as bribery..

Baking with my mom, and the smell of her sweet potato pie. I felt like I was 10 years old again. It's funny how some smells can take you back in time like that.

Two phone calls—it was so good to catch up with my girl, she knows how to make me laugh, even when she is sick; and my best friend agreed with me, we can't let so much time go by, without checking in with each other.

As if your thoughtfulness wasn't enough joy, knowing those Jadeite pieces will be in my hands soon was icing on the cake!

As for today, watching my mom and dad lounging on the sofa watching some cheesy western while I am being queen of the kitchen. Hearing my momma talk about this being the first Thanksgiving in 57 years that she hasn't had to lift a finger and being glad that we're able to make that happen for her... I've missed them so.

Waking up to the birds singing, my girls snuggled in bed with me and knowing my dad will be moving in in just a few weeks :) Life is finally settling down and everyone is happy and healthy and for that I am very thankful!!
