I'm finally feeling like myself again after my long week. I got in yesterday morning, but pretty much napped on and off all day...stumbled around a little in the evening to get laundry going and make "breakfast for dinner" of scrambled eggs and french toast. I was worried I wouldn't sleep last night since I slept so much during the day, but needn't have...I slept like a rock all night.

Sunday morning...so let's all send Zimmy good vibes for that Starbuck's interview! :goodluck: I hope you get it and can get moved back to Orlando where you want to be!

Hope you're all having a nice weekend....I'm waiting for the kittens to make an appearance, demanding tuna. :giggle:

Thank you and I am hoping to get the job!!! Glad you made it back home safely and those time zone changes can mess your internal clock up. I cannot wait to move back and I have been here in Orlando since Wednesday and I have had a blast! Friday night, myself, Matt and a few of his colleagues from DeVry went to the movies and saw, Battle Los Angeles. It was a good movie and Michelle Rodriguez kicked butt! I spent the day yesterday applying for jobs all throughout Orlando and even into Altamonte Springs. I even applied for a job at IKEA. That would be a bad idea if I got the job there, I would be broke...

I have to start getting ready soon for my interview and I am getting nervous...

I'm just working away...dishwasher is running...topping off the pool (never realized how much evaporates)...sending emails...scheduling meetings...regular sort of a day. :)

It's going to be a busy stretch for me at work for awhile now with the Lean 6 Sigma training. Our projects run through summer (probably middle or end)...with weekly mentoring sessions, homework, another week of training in April...it's a lot, but it's really going to be worth it.

Luckily, we've hired a replacement for my fellow project manager that left...and he starts at the end of the month. He won't take on any projects right away and will be shadowing me for a bit (so my work will go up rather than down for a little while), but I think he's one that will come up to speed pretty quickly.

Scoote and I were looking at pics online of where we get to go in the Bahamas. It looks absolutely wonderful, and I just can't wait! We're going to be a little crowded with two teenage boys, but I've already said that anyone who whines will be locked in the closet for an hour! With all that fun stuff to do...water park, water slides, dolphins, a spa.....ahhhhhhhhhh....gonna be great. (Note to self....take debit card from Scoote before letting her into the casino). :cheesy:

I agree with you and I feel really good about the interview! The girl who came in right behind me, had open toed sandals and a Jean skirt on. I will know by Monday whether or not I get the job. The position I applied for is a full time position and they pay $11.88 an hour to start. That is $0.53 more than I was making at the bookstore.

Your trip sounds like it is going to be fun!

We had a long but fun day today...started with a run to Scoote's work...she had to work an hour, so I had coffee and breakfast and read a book until she was ready. Then we were off to a big community yard sale in the park....got a yellow/orange canna lily, candle holders, a blue and white speckled bowl shaped like a heart, 2 sterling silver rings (one with onyx, one with amethyst), baseball cards and more...

After that we stopped for a hamburger, then off to the beach at low tide. Wading out in the water, finding shells, soaking up some sun....wonderful. Then stopped for an ice cream on the way home...

The new pool cleaner had been delivered by the time we got there, so I got it all assembled and installed...think it's going to really help keep the pool nice.

Just got back from dinner...and I'm pooped! :)

Well, no word on the Vera Bradley job, which means that I probably didn't get it. I broke down and cried yesterday, knowing that it is going to take me longer to find a job, than I thought it would. I will be moving this weekend, and I am thankful for it.

Things are going well for me...busy, but good. I did have one bummer bit yesterday. My awesome, amazing, knows everything in the project management world mentor has resigned, so that's the end of our sessions. I feel totally grateful for having had her ear and advice for a year and I've learned an amazing amount, but I know there was a lot more brain there for me to pick still. Sigh... I know she's been mega-stressed and unhappy there for awhile though, so it's best for her, no doubt, and I wish her all the best. Some other company will be very lucky to get her.

My mother arrives for a short visit on Saturday evening *stress*....not sure what we're going to do while she's here. Normally she's incredibly active but her health has been suffering, and I'm only now learning the extent of it (as she realizes she can't keep lying to me when I'll be seeing her so soon). All I can say is poor Scoote and the Prince...they have no idea what they're in for. :seeingstars:

I have been looking at Universal Studios and Dusney. I think once I move to Orlando, it will be easier to find a job. I called the Vera recruiter back yesterday and left her a message. I still can't understand how you could interview everyone in one day and make your final decision in two days. That is why I still have hope for that job. I had a phone interview on Monday with Harry and David chocolate store. I am hoping with my experience at Godiva, will help me with that. I am still considering taking my bachelor's degree off of my resume.

If you and the family feel up to it, maybe we can have brunch at The Cheesecake Factory in Orlando on Sunday?

Hey Zimmy,

Hope the moving goes well...I have my fingers crossed for you on the job too...and that everything goes smoothly!

We won't be able to do this Sunday, because my mother is arriving Saturday night for a short visit. Not sure what she's going to be up to, because her health has been pretty bad lately.

I'd love to take a raincheck and do it another Sunday though.
First, because I'd like to catch up with you again, and second because I adore the Cheesecake Factory and didn't know they did brunch!!! How was this secret kept from me all these years???

I didn't know they did brunch either until my old roommate, Matt, told me about it. I went on Easter Sunday a few years ago and loved it! The next time we get together, I will bring you a tube of my favorite handcream from L'Occitane!

Seems like we've all been so busy lately, but with good things happening all around... still sending that job-finding mojo your way Zimmy...and I think looking at Disney and Universal is a great idea, especially since they're gearing up to head into their busy season pretty soon.

Poor Scoote worked extra late last night, and is off to work again already this morning. They're keeping her jumping for sure.

I head to the airport this afternoon to pick up my mother, who is visiting for a few days. Should be interesting, as usual. She does adore Rooster and they have a really good relationship...so that's a good thing. And she only likes short visits...so that's another good thing! :giggle:

Hello my friends :)

Well, it's been an eventful few days....my mother came and went. Her health is truly awful and I have some pretty grave concerns about whether she'll be around much longer (not for my sake, but for my son's), I turned 49, and Scoote blew her back out so badly that she's on bed rest and painkillers for a few weeks...another MRI and a consult with a neuro-surgeon coming up for her. Ugh.

:coffee: isn't going to cut it on this...I may need :chocolate: too.

My new colleagues are started, so we have a full department again....now it's just a little time to get the "new guy" trained and then maybe he can take a few things off of my plate.

The biggest challenge for me right now is trying to keep Scoote in bed where she's supposed to be. She's still trying to do wayyyyyy too much. I'm considering tying her down. :sunglass:

As we were leaving the doctor's office, she pointed at me and said to Scoote, "basically, she's your bitch"....(I told her I basically already was :giggle: ), but it's hard to get Scoote to just stop and heal.

She may be the second most stubborn person on the planet....after me, of course. :)

I took a twenty minute nap after arriving at the apartment and taking a shower. It felt so good to be able to walk into a nice place and have no negativity.

Thank you so much for keeping the kitchen open Zimmy! I've had my hands full trying to keep Scoote as immobile as possible (failing miserably), training the new guy at work, and basically keeping all the wheels turning around here.

I went and enjoyed my spa day yesterday that Scoote gave me for Christmas...an hour long massage, fruit enzyme facial, and a manicure and pedicure. I feel much better! :cheesy: It's a really lovely place, and I was so relaxed when I left that I could have slept for the rest of the day.

Glad to hear you're moved in back in Orlando and that things are going better for you Zimmy...and sending you mojo on the job hunting. :rrose:

The Spa Day sounds like fun! Matt and I used to go to the local spa and get our manicures and pedicures. It is such a relaxing time!

I am glad to be back here and having Athena, Matt's cat, around is nice. Matt and I have decided that we are going to move into a two bedroom apartment in the same complex.

Scoote is being bad...How is the weather down by you? We just had a wicked storm hit us and the rain is supposed to remain into the afternoon.

I know, for me, I can't remember when I was so bone tired....and I'm really hoping that my internal alarm shuts down long enough to let me sleep in this weekend. I need it! Work is just kicking my butt.

In other news....the nurse came to look at Scoote yesterday morning. We have to keep in mind who she works for, but are still hoping she can expedite the MRI and consultation so we can figure out what the next steps are. I know it's driving poor Scoote nuts to be laid up and not be allowed to do anything much.

Another sip of coffee, then it's off to work for me. My day barely started and I'm already behind...... *sigh*

I agree with you! I received an email yesterday asking me to come in for a job interview with Bloomingdale's at the Mall of Millenia. It is for a sales manager in training position. I had to go out and buy a new suit yesterday. Macy's had an awesome sale on their suits and I picked up a suit that originally cost $280 for $69.99. It is a dark grey pant suit and I have it hemmed since I am only 5'0", lol. I have been applying for atleast 5 jobs a day.

How long before you know what the doctor's are going to say about Scoote? I hope Scoote gets to feeling better and being stuck in the house, would drive me crazy...
