Marvin Gaye and Tree

The first Marvin Gaye album I bought was "Live"
with a long version of Distant Lover.
I was working in radio then and he had a concert
planned and a station interview.

So I called my best pal Tree, who is an avid fan,
and had him wish—no—sing Happy Birthday to her
Motown style.Then I took her to his concert that night.

We still talk about it.

This is remembering Tree and some fantastic times
we had—one of them with Marvin Gaye.
