I finally made it back into the gym, exercisers. I went to gym #3 as it's close to a Walmart and I had to go shopping afterwards.

LifeFitness elliptical, moderate heart program
195 cal, 1.81 mi, 30:00 min

I followed that up with some slow and relaxing stretches.

All in all, it was a nice and easy slide back into the grind of things. I didn't even break a sweat!

Orema 01-31-2017 10:31 AM

I just went on a walk around the cul-de-sac at work. It's a short walk, but it counts.

SmoothButch 02-01-2017 06:21 PM

I ran three miles out on the trail today.

Lyte 02-01-2017 06:33 PM

Went to OTF ... got 21 SPLAT points ... burned 400 calories. <-- lots of cardio today. Ugh! :praying:

Chad 02-01-2017 07:38 PM

Exercise

At PT tonight I did 60 leg lifts, 30 squats, 10 minutes of leg press, and 2.5 miles on the stationery bike. :)

Medusa 02-02-2017 04:54 PM

Still holding strong with 10000+ steps and some days closer to 15k or even 18k.

RockOn 02-02-2017 07:16 PM

Went downtown and paid for copy of my entire personnel record. Walked 4 blocks downhill to the building ... parking downtown sucks ... the 4 blocks back up the hill to my truck made me tired but I made it. :)

legally_b10nde 02-02-2017 11:41 PM

Worked on Abs, Legs, & Gluteus tonight

4 sets planks

3 sets cable crunches

3 sets hanging leg raises

3 sets bicycle kicks

3 sets lying hip thrusts

4 sets donkey kicks

3 sets squats

3 sets lunges

4 sets lying leg curls

15 min. rowing machine + 15 min. uphill mountain simulation

SmoothButch 02-03-2017 12:02 PM

Arms today, biceps & triceps weight lifting and a few push ups.

Chad 02-03-2017 07:07 PM

Exercise

At PT tonight I still only road the stationery bike 2.5 miles in 10 minutes so I need to request more time. I did 60 leg lifts, 36 sqauts, and 10 minutes of leg presses.

My quads are getting stronger, yay!

SmoothButch 02-07-2017 08:41 PM

Signed up for the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon in May. Now I have to add hills to my training.

Chad 02-09-2017 07:32 PM

Exercise

At PT last night they added a 2lb weight to my newish knee leg. I did 90 leg lifts, 10 minutes of leg presses, 36 sqauts, and 2.5 miles on the stationery bike.

I really think my quads are getting stronger and I feel better over all.

Gemme 02-09-2017 08:36 PM

I got in a few hours of shoveling snow today. At almost 600 calories per hour, that's pretty darn good!

cinnamongrrl 02-09-2017 09:05 PM

I did yoga this morning to help get the kinks out of my body...they were numerous but it worked..lots of ab work too which I liked.

Also did some kettle bell work. Its a great total body workout.

nycfem 02-11-2017 04:57 PM

I texted a bunch of family and friends, "How about a long wintery walk today?" One said yes, so I went with her :).

She is a colleague who happens to live a few blocks from me even though we both work in the Bronx.

We walked for an hour and a half, I'd say, if I exclude the time we stopped.

We walked by the River which was really nice since it was a sunny 45.

She wanted to do a bit of city walking which I agreed to but didn't care for. I don't like to walk by stores and restaurants and through crowds. Give me a park any day.

We had a great time chatting, and it was a wonderful walk.

Gemme 02-11-2017 08:32 PM

I spent a long time shoveling today.

Chad 02-11-2017 08:46 PM

Exercise

No exercise today but I am thinking about it. Monday I get evaluated by my physical therapist and Tuesday I see my surgeon. I want two more weeks of PT. Next I plan to join the community center. They have weights, stationery bikes, and a pool. I look forward to continuing to exercise.

nycfem 02-12-2017 07:28 PM

I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster (levels 2-4), and then 30 minutes of floor exercises, weights, and stretching.

While on the stairmaster I watched a very bad documentary on Ashley Madison (the website that was hacked where people go to have affairs). Then during my floor exercises I just counted. I've always done those in silence and it doesn't seem to bother me, I guess because I am counting.

Gemme 02-13-2017 05:57 AM

I'm turning into my typical winter broken record. More shoveling yesterday, though not nearly as much as previous days, and snow prep, which involves a lot of walking.

I picked up a Backsaver shovel for us in the office since we do so much and my back is hurting so damn bad from consecutive massive shovel days. I found that it doesn't 'save' my back as much as the different angles just target a 'new' part of the back to make ache. I guess it's helping as it's letting the mid to upper part of my back chill out while the lower to mid back does all the work now.

Potato vs potahtoe I suppose.

However, my upper arms are getting more of a workout with this shovel so they hurt worse than with the standard shovel. Can't win!

Gemme 02-13-2017 07:52 PM

I'll give you one guess.....

Orema 02-15-2017 10:02 AM

I just walked the cul-de-sac.

nycfem 02-18-2017 06:24 PM

Today I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the Stairmaster, Levels 1-4. It was beautiful weather outside so the gym was not crowded at all which was fun.

Gemme 02-19-2017 12:01 PM

I finally got off my ass and went to the gym this morning, exercisers.

Here's my damage:

271 cal, 2.42 mi, 30:00 min

I didn't want to play with weights so it was my trusty elliptical but after about 10 minutes, this guy hoped on one a couple down and was making disgusting sounds and was sniffing and then blowing out of his nose. I couldn't tell if it was a cold issue or a chemical dependence issue. Either way, my stomach literally turned thinking of all of those snotty germs being sprayed all over his console and phone. Soooo gross. This is why I practically bleach the machines before I get on them.

Besides that and seeing a creepy assed cheating former customer, my time at the gym was good. I enjoyed my stretch time too. Even though it was crowded at the back (because I went later than usual), everyone was respectful and no one made any disgusting sounds so that ended my workout on a high note.

cinnamongrrl 02-19-2017 12:30 PM

I just got back from a 2.5 hour hike. Total elevation was about 3500. I feel SO alive!

SmoothButch 02-19-2017 05:28 PM

I ran nine miles today
On the trail. I burned over 1100 calories.

I envy your running ability.I so would like to work on that as a personal goal

girl_dee 02-19-2017 05:50 PM

i went on about a mile hike around a small lake. I had my camera on my back so it was quite a workout. Uphill both ways!

Glenn 02-19-2017 06:20 PM

Today and everyday, I will begin doing 10 minutes of punching and kicking on my Everlast heavy bag, that hangs from the basement ceiling beam, with Trump's face taped on it, to tone up my forearms and legs.

Thank you. I started running with the Couch to 5k free app.
That's how it all started a couple of years ago. Before that, I could barely run for two minutes straight!

You....are my inspiration :) I find trail running especially interesting because of the varied scenery and terrain. And because the ground seems as though it would be much more forgiving than pavement.

When I get my new phone I'll get the app and make an honest attempt at it. :)

Good luck, I look forward to seeing posts . Trail running, dirt is easier on the body but the challenge there is always watching in front of you, where you land. The uneven terrain does slow you down some. And there's less "bounce" so it's a little more effort. Black top isn't bad at all and concrete and brick are the surfaces I try to avoid, if possible. Much more shock to the body.

And thank you! Runners always seem to inspire other people and other runners. I've gotten a couple of people running just from following my progress. It's neat.

I love the trail and being out in nature. Feeling the breeze, sun on my skin, hearing the leaves scatter or listening to the birds. And there's the occasional squirrels or deer that make an appearance.

Sounds wonderful. Like hiking only faster :) Ill definitely post on it when I begin. Thanks again for the inspiration!

Orema 02-21-2017 12:27 PM

I walked the cul-de-sac. Soon I will add the hill to my walk but not today.

Chad 02-21-2017 12:49 PM

Exercise

I walked for 30 minutes today.

Wrang1er 02-21-2017 02:08 PM

I walked over three miles today. I was recently diagnosed with diabetes which sucks but it's been a motivator for me.

cinnamongrrl 02-21-2017 08:40 PM

I don't post every day but I've been at least doing yoga every day. Most days I also work with kettle bells. Mostly for upper body but truly it involves the whole body. (Awesome!)

Today was just yoga; I was super tired.

I also cleaned which I say counts.

Wrang1er 02-22-2017 05:05 PM

I walked five miles today!

Chad 02-22-2017 08:31 PM
