We're actually celebrating next weekend when Rooster will be back home...so today was just your usual Sunday....tuna for the kitties, then out to breakfast and off to do some shopping. We got a new faucet for the kitchen sink, a pile of clothes at Old Navy (super cheap...Easter sales, discount coupon and freebies...yay!), a few groceries...and now back home to relax. I may do some yard work later if I get ambitious...or maybe not! :cheesy: Hope you're all having a nice weekend! |

:bringcoffee: The coffee pot is on...and I'm thinking that we all deserve Eggs Benedict and mimosas for breakfast...just because we made it through Monday! http://img4.myrecipes.com/i/recipes/...u-633450-l.jpg I have my suitcase half unpacked (takes me awhile), but at least the laundry is done...and the email inbox cleared from my week away in AZ....so now I can get back to normal. Any news on the job-hunting front Zimmy? You've been hard at it...something's bound to happen soon. :rrose: I think Jake may have gotten lost in the boxes from unpacking....should we send out a search party? I'd offer Shadow...he's got a great nose....but he'll be most successful if Jake happens to have some bacon in a pocket somewhere. :giggle: Rooster is still in NY....feels so weird to be here without him for so long. I know I have to get used to it, because summer is going to be an even longer stretch. Even weirder is knowing that the school year here is in the home stretch (maybe 6 weeks to go), and after that he'll be in high school. :blink: Scoote and I assembled the first of two chaise lounges last night (and I managed to cuss less than last time). Thank you for breakfast! I had three job interviews in two days and the manager for Teavana, really loved me and I am going to call her back today and thank her for interviewing me and see if I got the job. She put me on the sales floor to *sample to sell* and I was rusty at it, since the last time I had to do that was three years ago at Godiva. I asked the Campus President for DeVry if I could use him as a reference and he said yes and I also got another manager of mine from the library to write me a letter of recommendation and I can use her as a reference. I cannot wait until the end of May when I get my own room, sleeping on the couch is horrible. Do you have an IKEA by you? I love their furniture and computer desks. Maybe when you all come up and we get together with Belle, maybe we can all hit the IKEA? Have a good morning and I am off to apply for more jobs. Zimmy Quote:

Miss you to! I have an appointment with the unemployment office on May 9th. They are going to look at my resume and see what kind of job paths I can take.
I am not sure if I am going to be used to the summer here in Orlando after living on the coast for a year. I will have to remember the bacon trick.. grins. Not lost, just crazy busy. Starting a new job.. moving into a new place.. and buying a new vehicle.. all in the past 2 weeks. So, I am having moments of not knowing if I am coming or going.. however, things are starting to settle now.. all moved in and unpacked. Job is going great.. and I am feeling really comfortable with it. Car is pretty cool too. laughs. Also been busy getting "pestered".. it is a good thing. grins. I am glad you made it home safe and sound from Arizona. Gotta love scoote.. even when she is not feeling her best.. she keeps that fort held down. smiles. We just had a crazy rain/thunder/lightning storm.. it would have been nice to enjoy it from My porch.. I will have to post some pics when I get some time.. the view of the lake is just phenomenal. Once things get more settled.. I have also been looking at the Humane Society website here.. to adopt a cat/kitten.. there are two on there that are brother and sister.. I fell in love with one of them..and then read their story and realized he had a sibling.. I know if I go I will end up getting both..laughs.. just have to get My routine down and new digs all situated first. I miss having a pet. I'd offer to give you our kitties Jake, but Scoote might object! :giggle: We just got back from dinner out at Olive Garden (fettucine alfredo, salad and a few bites of an incredibly rich dark chocolate dessert)...then to Target to pick up Easter candy since we're celebrating on Sunday. Huge thunderstorm here too....with a funnel cloud in the distance looking like it was thinking about touching down. laughs. I imagine scoote would. I was surprised when I went on the Humane Society website.. that they have raised their adoption fee to $75. However, given they make sure the animal is fixed, has all of it's updated shots.. and they also throw in your first vet visit for free.. it is well worth it. Plus the money is going to a good cause.. to keep the shelters open. It is also nice to know you are giving an animal a home.. when someone else did not want to. As I said.. I am sure I will end up adopting the siblings if they are still there when I am ready to do everything. If not, I will likely adopt two anyway.. so they have a playmate for when I am at work and/or away from home. Sounds like you had a great dinner. I love the OG's salad and breadsticks. However, it is hard for Me to eat there italian food.. given I was raised with My Gram and Mom's cooking.. it kind of makes Me spoiled for anything else. The storm is finally subsiding.. I can still hear the rain.. however, I am not hearing the thunder nor seeing the lightning now. Perhaps, Spring has finally arrived. One can only hope. The ASPCA up here in Orlando, adopts pure black and tuxedo cats for free on Fridays. I am thinking of maybe going to pick up a kitten once I move into the new apartment. I have a job interview on May 6th with a chocolate company and I also have an appointment on May 9th with the unemployment office. Sitting here watching The Voice with Jo while we roast up my raw nuts...YES i am helping a little...Jake good idea on getting 2...they need to have a playmate..thats what i told Jo when i got the 2...my cat--the brain damaged white princess-was abandoned at birth..was almost killed twice by an idiot that had no clue how to take care of her...then her cat(altho she says he isnt) belonged to an employee of mine..but if they didnt have each other neither of them would be as happy i dont think
Zimmy...keep at it girl something will give eventually..just dont OVER do it with calls and stuff...trust me on this..when i have someone that callls CONSTANTLY even after i said id call just makes me wonder..if they cant follow a simple request b4 being hired how are they gonna be if hired...also i hace found dont give them your all in an interview..give them a good taste but save the best till after they hire ya.....just my 2 cents Jake glad to hear ur getting settled in.. I get the results for my MRI tomorrow,and they are gonna make an appt with an ortho specialist...as much as i hate to say it i hope they dont release me till after i see the specialist bc even tho i can do a little,if i pushed it for more than an hr (depending on what im doing) then im down for 2-3 days after..would love to sit on that porch of urs with a drink while looking out over the lake--during a great storm would be even better Bella Belle---yak yak yak! lol to everyone else hope ur evening and week is going good |

I usually only call them once a few days after the interview. I usually bring a copy of my resume with me and answer the questions they ask. I learned that you don't go in there and tell them everything, it makes them wonder exactly what your capable of doing at the job. How was the nut roasting lastnight? i came home and made a huge salad with grape tomatoes, romaine, avocado, oat groats, tofu, fresh basil, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage [purple], and seasoning. zimmy, i was so hungry after all that running around today! thank you for giving up your cold water for the dog on the sidewalk this hot afternoon! you really were a gem to get me to the garage- and not complain about the time spent there- though, it was kind of amusing with the employees, and a wig and claw hammer, et c . i hope that you like the facial scrub, and your roommate loves the cupcake you bought for his birthday!

Nods. Yep.. I am totally thinking that two cats is going to happen.. especially if they are siblings.. I do not want to separate them.. so we shall see what cats/kitties are available when I get settled and can go and see them.
Did you get the results of the MRI today? or is it tomorrow that happens? You NEED to seriously take it easy and not push yourself .. I made that mistake right after surgery and went back to work way to soon.. and I am sure it was a big mistake ... however, I am like you.. I can not stand to sit around or to have someone wait on Me, etc. I would love to have you and Jo come visit.. and the view is just spectacular.. there is so much to do here during the Summer and Fall months.. right now we are getting yet another thunderstorm.. and to look out the picture window and see..the lightning flash across the sky.. just amazing.. I hope you and Jo are having a good night.. and try to take it easy on yourself.. and do not push.. as much as you want to.. it will only do you harm in the end.. especially when it comes to rehabilitating from the surgery if you have to have it. I couldn't see that poor puppy with his tongue hanging out when we passed him today. Your salad sounds declicous and I ended up having a turkey sandwich on five grain Italian bread for dinner with a little bit of linguine and sauce. Those pretzels were salty and something I won't have again. You are welcome and I still think that one guy, is a jerk for talking to us like we both had two heads on our shoulders.

as for MRI--my understanding is the L3 and L4 are bulging and L5 is herniated and encroaching on the spinal sac :blink: she said i need a neurosurgeon and not an ortho because i have the pain,numbness and weakness that goes down both my legs..so until the neuro is seen i am off work and still told to take it easy since we dont know extent of damage yet as for pushing myself...i try not to,but Jo has way too much on her plate as it is so i wanna help as much as possible....she is constantly threatening to smack me tho :| Jake...that would be soooooo cool to watch a storm over a lake under cover of a porch....i loved it when i was younger so i hope everyone is have a great week thus far and it only gets better as weekend draws near *pouring vinegar on Belle as i walk out the door* |
yes, we have a love for animals in common! i've always been the one on the bus/in the car to say, Stop! we have to help the cat, dog, bird, et c. you did not even mind when i pulled over, got out and ran like half a mile [smile] to reach the kid and puppy. the boy was so appreciative of the water, and that anyone would actually stop. the kind bar is almost gone! one day, we can bake a bunch of goodies if you are interested. may have to rent a kitchen though, it would heat up our own places too much!

Yes it was a hot and humid day here in Florida. Hopefully you can get into the neurosurgeon soon and that you are taking it easy. I know that when my back starts hurting, I take an Aleve and that helps. My L5 and L6 are compressed together, so I cannot lift over 25lbs, but I do. Hope you are feeling better and soon! I found the Kind bars at Publix, and I like going walking either around 7am in the morning and at night. It is a lot cooler than and less busy. I have done that for a turtle that was in the middle of the road. I cried when I saw someone hit this baby black kitten. It freaked me out and I called the ASPCA to go and pick him up. I used to feed feral cats at this gas station I worked at.

Work has been a rough go for weeks, and I'm appreciating the weekends more and more. This weekend has an extra bonus too since I'll be driving out to the airport bright and early on Sunday to pick up Rooster. :cheer: Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? |

I am having a stellar day. and the is still wonderful and I know it is only going to get better as the seasons change. Tomorrow I have to go into the office again.. for My last bit of training I hope. Then Sunday will be spent organizing and decorating the deck..I also have some things to finish up here in My place.. hanging some Ansel Adams prints in My bedroom and so on.. the place is definately coming together. Next week I will be calling the cable company and see how soon they can get everything hooked up. Today I am going to go to the local Salvation Army places here and in Ithaca and see what good buys they have. I love going and pick through that stuff. Unfortunately they scrubbed the launch. Matt's cousin who is down from Long Island, NY, went with me and we had a great laugh at our waitress. evening everyone...sitting here with Jo watching the Voice--and being a critic :lol2: my days are semi busy--as much as jo will allow of me that is....for most part tho i am getting agitated with my WC ppl--still no appt for a neurosurgeon(drs recommendation) or ortho spinal dr(WC desire) my business id having to run at 2 week intervals bc nothing is getting done..so im slowly watching my business slide further and further down bc my boss is not proactive--he is just trying to get by till i get back--which is actually undetermined but being done in 2 week intervals grrr
