Two phone calls and buying RIBS for the bbq Saturday!

I thought I logget off at work but obviously I didn't. Looks like I am going to be logged on until I return to work next Tuesday. Lol

well, I wouldn't have expected coming home smiling but a friend of mine gave a friend of hers my email and we met for dinner tonight. I had a really good time. This is like my first official fix up date since I left my long term relationship. It turns out (NYC is a very small lesbian world) that I know some of her good friends, we have a similar history (NYC in the late 60's and 70's and 80's) and she seemed (of course I don't really know her) to be a nice person. Not sure what comes next in the dating world but would like to see her again. I am actually shocked at myself for thinking this. I went into it with no expectation except for a good dinner at this french bistro

Eating peanut butter from the jar for dinner! I can double dip because it is my peanut butter.

Woke up feeling so good, thought about it being Friday and the 3 - day weekend ahead.

Lots of reasons to smile this morning....
 

I stopped in at Starbucks this morning for a chai tea. The place was a zoo, and I guess they skipped my drink. I didn't even realize because the perkiest barista I have ever encountered was busily chatting away with me while she worked, lol.

Then when she made mine, she slipped me a voucher for a free drink with "We're sorry your experience wasn't that great. Please enjoy a complimentary drink on us for your next visit" or something to that effect printed on it. So now I get a free drink next time I want one and I didn't even complain or insinuate that I was unhappy in any way.

lol, so maybe I belong in the bitchy resting face thread instead of this one?

But yay!

Plus the ride home from work with the lid off beneath the beautiful sunny skies is always really nice!

Annnnd...a 3 day weekend. Now if I can just get through one more night of work, all will be great!

seeing two sisters who won a $13,000 scholarship each from my company...their mother and grandmother (both co workers) were understandably very proud..one sister won 2 years ago and the other sister won this year...so amazing to see good things happen to nice people :)
