Scoote, I wish you the best with your business. I don't understand why WC is being so slow..Maybe they won't take who the dr is recommending? I am over being on unemployment. Every two weeks it is something new as to why I am being suspended from submitting my claim. I just think it is Florida and they really need to get their heads out of their asses. :eatinghersheybar:. Esurance told me that the State of Florida, allowed them to increase our automobile's insurance rates by 1.4%. I asked the lady I was talking to, "How can the State of Florida allow you to raise our car insurance rates when 3/4's of the state is on unemployment?". The lady had no answer for that question. So now I am looking for a new car insurance company, my payments are now going to be around $110 a month for PIP and Bodily Injury. My rate last year, was $68 a month.

I had two job interviews on Monday, one with Lane Bryant, which went well even though it was a group interview and one with CVS. The store manager for CVS loved me and didn't flinch when she saw how much experience I had. The job is only part time, but you can work at other stores until you hit 40 hours. I have a job interview on Friday with Behr's Chocolates and then one on Monday with BestBuy.

I just got a surprise call! I had an interview almost two weeks ago with the Peabody Hotel here in Orlando, for a position doing reservations. The recruiter just called and asked me to come in tomorrow morning and talk with the Reservations Department manager about a job as a PBX operator. I now have an interview at 9:30am tomorrow morning and the job starts off paying $8.25 per hour and is full time.

How does ice cream sound?

Busy day today...bit of a hassle at work but nothing more than what's become the usual *sigh* I had high hopes when we hired the new guy, but it's not turning out that well for a variety of ridiculous reasons. I just keep plugging away, and trust that it will improve.

Scoote and I just got back from dinner, I filled out passport paperwork...and then Scoote attacked me with an ice cube :| Well....actually the Rooster started it, but she kept up the attack!

These are the shoes I bought..Very comfy and I am not a fan of heels.

I have a job interview at 1:30 today with BestBuy, and I am hoping to get a part time job with them. I need to start paying off some of my debt that has accumulated from being unemployed. It's mainly hospital bills.

Good luck with the part-time job Zimmy, but don't overdo it and wear yourself out...you'll get caught up, don't worry! I hope the new job goes well. I googled the hotel (cuz I'm nosey like that :) ) and it's really beautiful.

We had a long day yesterday...spent the day at Magic Kingdom. Had lots of fun, walked for miles, ate stuff I'm not supposed to...all the usual stuff one does at Disney. We managed to get lost on the way there...thinking we were on the turnpike instead of 95 :giggle: and paying more attention to our madlibs than the road....but it was still a good time. Scoote used the word "buttcheeks" a lot and we put together some pretty goofy ones that had us laughing.

Today it's back to work (can't believe it's Monday already)....and need to help Rooster on a project this evening since he had no internet access the entire time he was gone on spring break. Going to be a busy one...

I passed my interview with BestBuy yesterday and I have a second interview with them on Friday. I am supposed to hear back from the recruiter this week from the Peabody as to when my official start date is. You have to attend an orientation class before you start and they only hold those on Mondays. If I don't hear anything by Thursday, then I am going to give them a call and check on this.

Scoote's back is the same...painful...at least she has an appointment with the ortho/spine specialist next week....and then "we'll see" about the neurosurgeon. They are taking for freaking ever to get this seen to, and it's truly pissing me off. She's been injured and off work about a month and a half now and they've managed an MRI and pain meds....and that's about it. Freaking ridiculous.

Ugh....can you tell I'm having a less than stellar morning? Sorry! :seeingstars:

The inspector doing the wind mitigation (i.e. will our roof blow off in a hurricane) for the insurance company is here, and up in the attic. Better him than me....I get skeeved out up there really quick.

I'm off to have some coffee, and see if I can pull myself out of my funk so that I can at least be productive for work....my desk is about 2 feet tall in paper at the moment.

I found a good song that you and Scoote can start singing to the WC people http://youtu.be/T2onHaKs5zs. Listen to the part that starts at 2:43. It's the truth. What most people who are government employees don't realize, is how their jobs could be taking away the next day.

I am so happy to get a job, I no longer have to fight with the unemployment office. Every two weeks, there was a new reason as to why I had been put on suspension and I had to call and beg them to allow me to submit my claim. I never thought that when I first started working over fifteen years ago, that I would have to fight for my tax money. I don't know and I am over the politics here in Florida. Glad to hear Scoote has her appointment next week and hopefully they can schedule the neurosurgeon appointment quickly..

good afternoon kitcheneers...long time no type....been busy driving Jo crazy bc WC is dragging their asses on getting me to a dr and a solution to my problem..finally tho i have an appt with an orth spinal specialist(even tho my dr insists i need a neurosurgeon NOT an ortho). Im not sure how mucch good it will do,but we shall see.

Zimmy i hear ya on fighting for ur money..i anm now having to fight to get my WC..they are suddenly dragging their asses on that as well...which wouldnt normally be an issue,but with the Bahama trip coming up and Roosters trip to Lead America and then to NY and other stuff,plus the fact im losing about 750-1000 a month has made things tight--for me--Jo says we will be ok,but im not happy having someone pick up my slack like that

It's been a busy day here, and hotter than blazes. The AC guy never showed up yesterday, and something's not working right with the central AC.....ugh. So, here I sit, hot and sweaty and waiting for it to cool off. Supposed to be low 70s tonight, so that'll feel better.

Rooster, Scoote and I took a dip in the pool late this afternoon...felt wonderful. Now if I could just figure out how to work from there full time! :giggle:

Scoote is :alarm: and the house is quiet....kitties have had tuna (usually reserved for Sunday, but they asked nicely and all sat in a cute little line so what could I do?)...boys are at school. I have one meeting to attend at noon, which may or may not happen, and an otherwise uninterrupted day at work which is just absolutely unheard of lately. It's a good thing too, because I have a ton of writing to do....and really need to get to the gas station (the low fuel light is on in the car), the grocery store (velociraptors need food) and the ATM (cash for Rooster's gradventure trip to Universal is tomorrow)....going to be a full day.

I called the Peabody this morning to see what was going on with the paperwork, and they are still processing it. It could be another week before I start working. I long for the old days when you could just walk into a job and walk out with a job and start the next day...

The Peabody is saying that it could take another week for my background check to be complete. I can meet this weekend if you like? Maybe at the Starbucks by you? My feet are doing wonderful, I didn't end up with blisters from the shoes. They are the most comfortable pair of heels I own...

That sucks about the lost kitty. I would try and call the ASPCA and see if they can pick her up before someone hurts her.

I got a phone call this afternoon from the Peabody. I start my new job on Monday and I cannot wait! I pick up my new pants from Macy's on Sunday and I get to wear my ultra cute Kenneth Cole heels!!!!!!

Took Rooster to school this morning and won't see him back until 2 a.m. tomorrow....he's off to Gradventure at Universal Studios with all the other 8th graders in FL... :blink:

He was so excited he could barely sleep last night...and was up early this morning as well. He's gonna' be exhausted by the end of the night!

In other news, the AC man came and left yesterday, after doing annual maintenance and clearing out the drain lines. Turns out that's all it needed....so no expensive repair bill...and the house is cool and comfy again...just in time for the weekend. Yay! :cheer:
