News from the sports medicine doctor I'm seeing about my knee injury. Got the results back from the x-rays and ultrasound today, and it seems it's not what my doctor originally thought. She'd said it was likely that the ligament had been stretched from the impact, though not torn, and so it would just need restrengthening in order to rehab it. The results today showed that there's actually a small crack in the cartilage. Apparently surgery does not help, and running, jumping and participating in contact sports (check, check, check) will likely widen the crack. He suggested I start acupuncture to relieve the pain so I can start being active again. Won't do anything about the cartilage, but I don't want to stop doing what I love.
I read about this nanofiber gel they've been doing research on at Northwestern University, that apparently can cause cartilage to regenerate...I hope they hurry the hell up with it. I would gladly be a guinea pig on this one if it means I get my knee back to the way it was. |
What work do I need to do on myself? Jeep Sakes, ya' mean this still goes on after retirement? Phooey!

im wondering why am i not sleeping again!! i spent another day in the dental chair and have taken alot of the pain killers but still no sleep!! make my mind wonder.. could be dangerous... but when you start not feeling at home in your own home is it time to move? or maybe time to get new furniture.. i hate moving.. maybe i should just go on my planned road trip and see how it feels when i get back.. i need to decide by the end of sept if i want to stay here in az or move up to wyo. wish i could keep doing both. wyo is beautiful but so friggin cold in the winter and az is almost year round motorcycle weather but to but way to hot for 5 or 6 weeks out of the year. hmmm

When will the economy rebound? So many are having such an awful time and our coingressional leaders haven't a clue about the day to day struggles of just plain working people!!! The unemployment extension passed today is not going to help as many people that need it and won't do a thing for job creation. I'm glad it passed, but, people need some damn hope about our actually getting out of this economic slump and some economic stability.

Another night of insomnia and a big day tomorrow. There are pleasures in the quiet ship of the night but oh the pain during the bright day tomorrow, or rather later today. I am hoping that if I stay up 24 hours that tomorrow at 11:30p I will fall into blissful solid sleep. One can hope.

Eventually finding homes for the sweet kitties we recently rescued. They are so adorable and deserve a good home instead of being "fixed" and released. I plan on getting them "fixed" (when/if I can afford to) but have a hard time with releasing them to fend for themselves one day.

WHY does my dog come up to me and stand and stare at me everytime she gets a drink of water. She just stands and stares...as if to say "thanks for the water my missus!" and she has water dripping out of the flues (sp?) of her mouth. Its not sometimes, its ever single time over the course of 7 years that she has done this!

I have an ear ache which seems to be the result of very cold wind in my ears at the dog park. and I have sinus problems that get my ears going sometimes. Ugh... reminds me of when I was little. But, 'cept I don't have my dad now to put some cotton in my ears with some warm olive oil and hold me close to his chest and walk me back and forth in the hallway until I fell asleep.
I can actually recall the smell of him and the safe warm feeling I had while he did this. Then my Mom would take her turn. She was a little boney, but safe and caring, too. They didn't get much sleep with my damn ear aches! had them continually until I was about 5. I miss my Mom & Dad! Good people. Where the heck are my ear muffs? |

We have two water leaks that we are having trouble repairing one of them. Going to have to totally redo the plumbing in the bathroom for the hot and cold water to the shower. We tried removing the section that was leaking, but it keeps leaking even with the new pvc we put in. It's a high pressure line too. Gonna try a thicker cpvc instead and see how that works. IF that don't work, time to do copper pipes. UGH

Thanks to those of you who were thinking about me. We're not use to getting this shit our way here in vincinities of Boston. WTF!?? Blizzards we can handle, but tornadoes? YES, everything ended up being fine and it was downgraded to bad ass thunderstorms and torrential rains since it missed us. This was absolutely nothing compared to those of you who are used to getting tornadoes and bracing yourselves. I can't even imagine, that is some scary shit with all that devastation it does. All I pictured was me eventually driving right in to it and then our house being swept away like that scene from the Wizard of Oz. But reality is that's irrelevant and lives are more important. I'm thankful it didn't turn into something as devastating as that. Quote:

a case was dismissed....
which means: I *can* take a little trip on monday only *if* I finish the show applications, one of which is due on sunday... and since... the only time I can go is next week... I am going to stop being a self- indulgent -whiney -ass and get them done, and sent out... so I can... get out of here and have a break for a few days and...the latest book in one of my favorite series has arrived... I can have some fun distracting reading while I'm gone... I Love the Daniel Silva series... the main character is an israeli, art restorer, Spy...gotta love them A's |

My GF is putting her wonderful and amazing dog Daxie to sleep on Saturday. It is going to be a hard day. Every day this week people have been coming over to say good bye to her. She is such a love and beautiful dog. I will miss her enormously. I just want to be as supportive as I can.
