Evening all!

Sorry I haven't posted here, been posting in the Frankenstorm thread. I am ok. I am Blessed! Just a few branches out in the back yard and that was it for us. Some neighbors not as lucky, but most of us luckier than those at the beach. Horrible... My Jersey shore will never be the same I'm afraid. So much distruction. Not sure if I will be able to go to see it come spring. Pretty sure it will take many years to bring it back. One of my concerns is that BIG companies will come in and buy from desperate ppl and what was cute, quaint beach homes will become huge hotels, or MCmansions. So sad, all those people out of homes. People in my chorus are collecting things for the shelters. There are a lot of retirement communities and a lot of these folks are at the shelters. They are in great need of toiletries, blankets, etc. The woman is taking the stuff down on Sat so I have to get the stuff to the church by tomorrow sometime.

Have a great weekend friends.

Ruthie :vigil:

Good evening DMW, Morningstar, Dance-with-me, Darbonaire, LipstickLola, Clay, Cuddly and peekers and those I may have missed because I was too lazy to scroll back very far!

It is late here in the DC Metro area, so I will also bid you all a good night :)

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again...wow, I miss Northern VA. How did the storm impact it?

Good morning cuddly. We didn't get as bad as they thought. Maybe it was the Derecho that took out a number of weak trees, but the power outages were no where near that last storm. It turned a few degrees and that saved us.

Hey everyone. I should take the time to post here more often but I forget how old I am..LOL.
It's a beautiful day here in Oklahoma. 66 degrees will be the high light winds thank God.

Red is at a conferance all day that means I can get some of my honey do list marked off. :-)

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

lusciouskiwi 11-03-2012 09:08 AM

Off to bed very soon - driving in horrendous weather Friday and today has about done me in. Hope to head off home from Kuala Lumpur early-ish tomorrow since apparently it starts to hose down from early afternoon.

Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend.

OS Butch 11-03-2012 09:44 AM

Good morning kiwi, Okiebug, Ruthie and all those popping in though out the day:)....at least it is morning here for another 20 minutes, I slept in!

I am always amazed how the internet makes the world smaller. Kiwi, every time I see where you are or heading to it is wow, all the way from there! I can't image about these far away places, but you found us on the Planet!

Ok, time for coffee, Have a great day:)

I'm glad that you didn't get hit as badly as reported. I have a few friends that had the same situation but others sadly didn't. No matter what is on the news when it mentions NOVA I always watch

Suffering from Hurricane

I am in New Jersey. The storm Hurricane Sandy has destroyed alot of the State. People have no homes left. They do not know what to do. There is no gas, no food and no electric in much of the State. I have seen some ugly things in my travels through the State trying to help out family. There are so many people here giving from their hearts. It is very touching. There are long lines for gas, two hour waiting time to fill your tank. Now we are on rationing gas. Odd and even license plate days. We have teams from all over the country working on our electric to get people relief. It is 30 degrees here right now and thousands of Families without light and heat. They are cold sitting in the dark. Please keep all of us here in your prayers. Now we are expecting another noreaster coming Wednesday. Only it is snow this time. God help us!!!!!!

OS Butch 11-04-2012 02:23 PM

Good afternoon everyone:)

Welcome CountryGirl and you can be whatever you want to be at any age as Clay has already said. Mainly just be comfortable in your own skin and just be you.

As for my breakfast date......it went very nicely:) We dined at Bob Evans in Fredricksburg and then drove around so she could show me all the good things happening in The Burg since the last time I had spent any amount of time there.

The only bad thing was I let her do the driving.....I did get car sick ( I didn't puke though) and now I am home and trying to recover from the nausea feeling......:seeingstars:
