Hehe Scoote,

I didn't have enough coffee this morning!

I am also watching that trial, and the station here has decided not to show the autopsy pictures, which is a good decision. You can hear Cindy Anthony crying right now. Casey is crying as well, but only because her lawyer told her to. Bob Evans sounds good, but for biscuits and gravy, there is a small mom and pop restaurant in Daytona that has the best biscuits and gravy...

Have a great day!

Yellow, just my opinion, but i dont think those parfaits would be enough for you considering the line your standing in..you need something hearty and perhaps causes"fragrance" afterwards.....perhaps THEN that line would move quicker....just a thought :fart:

Jo and I took Rooster to school then shot over to Bob Evans for the best sausage gravy and biscuits in the world..well i had that Jo had cheddar/sausage omelette, hashbrowns and biscuits..came home had a discussion about the kids--now she is in there back to work and i am watching the Casy Anthony trial

Zimmeh 06-09-2011 09:14 AM

Good Morning Yellow,

I know here in Orlando, they keep the government offices open and usually someone will keep your spot for you. I am addicted to my iPhone, but I normally just go on this site and look for things on the web.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

I'm in a long line that doesn't feel like it is moving. (can you cyber me a stool from Jo's kitchen, and maybe a pair of running shoes? Screw being a fashion diva in this line) Anyhow, I am now doing what I despise. I'm addicted to my phone. Everytime I have any waiting to do, out comes the phone and I start burning up time with it. Not talking, surfing and e mailing. So if totally inappropiate words show up, that is the auto select. And of course, seeing the
ultra fine print requires me to wear my bifocals, but out of boredom, I'll do it. How did I live without this phone? Is the entire world wireless now?

I'm at the Sheriff's office, waiting to file some precapies'. Someone, about 9 people ahead of me, is filing on delinquent taxes. That apparently takes alot of time, or they have fifty million..... I'm trying not to listen, but it's quiet in here, as everyone has the same addiction as I do......

I'm wondering if they work straight through (someone relieves the Deputy for lunch) or if they shut down and we start this mess all over again. No wonder work said "when you are finished filing those, you can go home". I also wonder if I can put my water bottle down to save my space in line while I go to the ladies room? Well, I'm going to try to engage in real conversation with the cell phone addicts, see what the rules are for waiting in line.........geeze. I had
false delusions of me sitting under a tree reading a book this afternoon.

Running shoes, please.......!

Dominique 06-09-2011 09:30 AM

Hi Zimmy,

Well, I was the big evil villian when I said *excuse me* to the lady in front of me, when inquiring about the ladies room, she shruuged her shoulders. I thought heck, we are adults, if children can make that work, certainly we can. So I sat my giant Fiji down and went to the ladies room. When I came back, others started doing the same (line hasn't moved) so I kicked off the shoes too. I think hell, so what if my feet get dirty. It's not the holding cell for prisoners and my chances of contracting MRSA are sort of slim. At least its nice and cool in here and I'm not in line outside. Then the jacket and the panty hose would be off. Big evil grin.

Now that I am much more comfortable......oh la de, oh la da

scootebaby 06-09-2011 10:01 AM

Zimmy,

They arent showing the pics on Trutv InSession either...i bet orlando is a zoo with all the media and ppl coming from all over to try to get in everyday..i heard on radio talk show outta west palm that this lady from NY planned her vacation around the beginning of the trial....and then i saw on the news or something the scene every morning when the courthouse opens for the trial...ppl running, pushing to get in bc there are less than 50 seats for the common folk.

I have to disagree about the reason she is crying--but only part way..i believe Baez said it would be good, but i also think part of it is the reality of seeing it all now...and im sure this isnt gonna sit well with you,but even tho i believe she had some role in the death of that poor child i dont think she was alone or even the primary, and i also think Baez is gonna pull off an OJ type thing...Altho unlike OJ,Casey WILL have to serve time just not get the death penalty. I wont bore the rest of the thread with this convo, but suffice to say i got a lot of opinions and i try to catch as much as i can everyday

P.S. altho i love Bob Evans if McDs sold biscuits and gravy in these parts i would rather go there...back home it was the bvest around!

Zimmeh 06-09-2011 12:05 PM

I agree that she isn't the only who is guilty. Baez is trying to show that she isn't the only one that should be held accountable to what happened to that baby. The Medical Examiner is having fun with defense team. That is why I am not going near downtown Orlando. They are saying she might not get the death penalty, but serve time in jail for lying to the officers. Either way, justice needs to be giving to that poor little girl.

McDonalds sells biscuits and gravy? Cracker Barrel has some really good biscuits and gravy, which I can find here in Orlando.

How are you doing today?

Hello my friends :)

Sorry I've been neglecting you all, and welcome to the thread YellowBand. :rrose:

It's been kind of a crazy time....and a big day today...Rooster's middle school graduation is this evening. :cheer:

I'll be back....promise....and in the meantime hope that you're all having a great day!

scootebaby 06-09-2011 04:04 PM

In Kentucky they did...was freaking awesom i tell ya.

And yeah that whole family has REALLY got some issues. And i hope the others that are involved get theirs as well..i think once Baez gets his chance he s gonna let some bombshells fall that are gonna blow everyone away.

I wouldnt take any amount of money to be down in that circus right now! i cant even imagine the insanity.

I just got back from WPB and a "culture" meeting...basically what i like/dislike about the company and my boss etc etc...cant wait for the results of all the information they got from all of us.

JustJo 06-10-2011 07:36 AM

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on....and here's what I want for breakfast...

http://www.seattlemet.com/assets/000...jpg?1265318939

Just dropped the Rooster off for his last day of school....short day and no doubt all movies and games. The Prince opted to sleep in and skip it. He's gone the last 2 days (all short days) with ever-dwindling numbers of students....by yesterday there were only 1 or 2 showing up for all of his classes.

Yesterday was Rooster's graduation...cap and gown...it feels really odd to see him hit that milestone, have him be as tall as I am, take pictures of him posing with his girlfriend...when it feels like he was an infant and a toddler just a little while ago.

My mother gets out of the hospital today...evidently she's made great progress in her recovery so they're letting her go early. She'll stay with a friend for a couple days before going back to her own house since she lives in the middle of nowhere. When I spoke to her yesterday she admitted that she's "not going to be back where I was before"....the Crohn's has progressed enough that she's facing that fact (at last) and acknowledging that she might need to hire some help in her house and yard. It's progress.

Off to work for me...which means switching to the other computer :giggle: ....hope you all have a great day. :gimmehug:

:lips: to my :alarm: sweetie....

Zimmeh 06-10-2011 08:16 AM

Good Morning Jo Jo,

Glad to hear that your mom is being released from the hospital early! I'm going to add turkey bacon to your pancakes!

Hugs and have a good day!

Good Morning Everyone,

How about a brunch style breakfast this morning? Mimosa's are on the menu as well!

Jo Jo, hope your mom is settling in after being released from the hospital. It is strange to see my oldest nephew and how he is taller than me. But I know, when he graduates from high school, I will definately be there. He is making me feel old, hehe. I cannot believe they are going home at the end of this month, and I have only seen them once. I am off on Friday and I will be making the trip to see them!

Have a good day,

Zimmy

The_Lady_Snow 06-11-2011 06:51 AM

Congrats to The Rooster and great job Momma Jo!!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous relaxing weekend!!!

MIMOSA TIME!!!

JoSchmooze 06-11-2011 09:59 AM

Good morning all...

Been awhile since I have stopped by here...
But it's Saturday morning and I thought I'd catch up
It would take me a month to go back and read all I've missed!
Suffice it to say I'll be stopping by more often

Homemade bread for french toast this morning, to go
with that mimosa!

The_Lady_Snow 06-11-2011 11:04 AM

Jo Schmooze is Ms softness ok??? She hasn't been on since her surgery release....

JustJo 06-12-2011 08:00 AM

Good morning everyone :) ...and welcome back to the thread JoSchmooze!

Coffee is on....and breakfast is ready...

http://www.breakfastusa.com/wp-conte...breakfast2.jpg

Once again I've tried and failed to sleep in late...oh well...Sunday morning and I'm awake at 8 a.m. Made coffee and tea, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher...and trying to decide if I want to be lazy or productive today. Hmmmm....so far, lazy is winning...even though the back yard is screaming for my attention.

One more cup of coffee and then I'll decide...

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday! :gimmehug:

Gee Jo, that's lazy? You should see my idea of lazy....it's not that! I see we are eating outside....thats always nice.
Old fashioned too, a newspaper instead of laptops like in my house......

I agree, Happy Sunday all.

Zimmeh 06-12-2011 09:09 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

Jo Jo, thank you for breakfast! And I am saying, be lazy today!

I have to work today and I am not ready to go in! I am sitting here watching an infomercial for a product called, The Genie Bra. It is nothing more than a modified sports bra. I need more coffee and someone to take the remote away from me, lol..

Hope you all had a great Saturday, I spent the whole day inside and relaxed.

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is ready, and I thought we could all use breakfast in bed today (I know I could :giggle:)

http://www.bonappetit.com/images/mag...t_in_bed_h.jpg

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping again, so I'm dragging around so far today....and so, so thankful that I work from home. I can be logged in and working....and still be unshowered and in my pj's....and they have no clue how tired and bedraggled I really am.

I just keep telling myself....next week at this time, I'll be waking up in the Bahamas...no phone, no work, no computer....just us, the pool and whatever restaurant we wander into. :cheesy:

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

Zimmeh 06-14-2011 08:18 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

Have fun in the Bahamas Jo Jo! Next Thursday, I will be at an Alumni event for DeVry and I am supposed to wear something nice...Thank goodness for black slacks and nice heels. I love the days when you can wander around your house and be in pj's all day...

I worked until 1:30am lastnight and came home to crash! I had the other two ladies in my department laughing at me all night, so hard, that one of them almost had issues. I tried talking to a guest and he said that must have been one funny joke. The night before, I had a guest laughing at me. I think the :rubberducky:'s and :chocolate: hit me lastnight and I need a day off...I had Clay laughing hard to...Gotta love when a joke turns into a image.

Have a good day,

Zimmy

JustJo 06-16-2011 07:43 AM

Good morning everyone :)

Sounds like the job is going well Zimmy....I'm so glad to hear that!

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on....and here's breakfast...

http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townn...4f40.image.jpg

We're in serious "countdown" mode here.....today, tomorrow, the weekend...then we're off on a week of vacation. :beachkids: We already decided that (because international rates and the internet at the resort is insanely expensive) we're leaving cell phones and computers behind....and just going to enjoy each other and our time there without the electronics.

Scoote is still getting jerked around by the insurance company's doctors....makes me furious. We aren't rocking the boat until after the trip, but then I'm hoping that she'll consult an attorney, and a neurosurgeon....even if we have to pay for it out of pocket. We really need to know what's going on with her back and what can be done to get her feeling better.

I'm also in a much better situation at work soon....my difficult boss has resigned and her last day in the office is tomorrow. By the time I'm back from vacation, she'll be a memory....and my new boss is a "hands off" kind of guy. Some people don't like that in a manager, but I infinitely prefer it. I already drive myself on deadlines and assign myself work (did it again yesterday!)....so I'm good with someone who takes a more distant and less controlling approach. I'm also letting it be known that I want to be considered for her job if they decide to fill it.....we'll see.

Speaking of work....I'm back to it! Have a great day everyone! :gimmehug:

The_Lady_Snow 06-16-2011 07:49 AM

Woo Hoo Bahamas Bound!! I hope this trip is memorable and it brings you all even closer as a family!! Hope your sleep pattern and Scoote's back gets better!!

Zimmy glad work is enjoyable and I hope all of you have a fantastic weekend!!!!

Yes, just what I needed. You are almost there. Yes, an attorney who will refer you to a specialist sounds like that is wht you may need when you get home
Don't forget my Bahama girl. (I know you can't smuggle her back her) but, a postcard when you return would be nice. I went to the Bahama's and have a nice cup, but..no pretty postcard.

Zimmeh 06-16-2011 07:55 AM

Good Morning Jo Jo,

Have a good time in the Bahamas and glad to hear that your boss is adios! I cannot stand bosses that goes on a power trip and if you stand up to them, then they make your life a living hell...That is what I love about the ACLU..They put those kinds of bosses back in their place and then you can smile and say, "gotcha".

My supervisor is being nasty, but I have learned just to stay off of her radar and my life is wonderful at work. After August 16th, I can look into transferring out of my department and maybe go back up to the front desk.

That sucks what they are doing to Scoote and I would look into hiring an attorney and see what they have to say.

Hugs to all of you!

I know you know, that won't (doesn't) stop me from saying, and being a big busybody...still 'n all...a WC attorney is going to take the case on contingency
you shouldn't be out of pocket for anything...they will have doctors they work with, and who can assess and treat, as well as knowing the whole legal system...it might be smoother, and work better for you in general, if you speak to a lawyer first, and see who they suggest...

and yes, this is nina-butt-her-nose-into-things for breakfast!! :)

all the best to All of us starting the day and planning to do our best...I am having toast, but really not in the mood for much, these days

cheers

Good Morning Everyone,

How about some honey nut cheerios for breakfast? It is to hot outside to cook anything.

I had fun yesterday hanging out with my family and watching my oldest nephew play with my youngest nephew. I still cannot believe how tall my youngest nephew is. He is taller than my four year old niece and he is only two and a half years old.

Hope you all had a wonderful Friday!

Zimmy

Dominique 06-18-2011 07:22 AM

OK. I'll make smoothies (I heard someone say it was hot) That heat will be in my neighborhood in two days, so I will enjoy high 70's until then. This mornings' smoothies will not be green. (I already had mine) But I promise they be both delicious and healthy!

In other news.....in your house, do you actually read a morning paper, or do you sit around with lap tops? (or do the phone thing?)

Dominique 06-18-2011 07:29 AM

WC laws are pretty *etched in stone* in Pa. (where I live and work, for example) if you accept WC assistance while you are out injured, you esentially give up your right to sue. However, if you are not feeling better with in 90 days, you can get out from under the WC Dr's and go to one of your own. But, by doing this, WC reserves the right to send you to an Independant Medical Exam.....It is usually viewed as a cold exam, very little interaction, as the exam is *neutral* and the WC review board reviews the findings. If you stir the pot too much, your employers insurance company (usually a TPM) third party management, will have you followed. And filmed
OH YES THEY WILL!!!

Mr Nice Guy 06-18-2011 07:42 AM

Any breakfast on the table? I'm hungry. :)

Zimmeh 06-18-2011 07:47 AM

Good Morning Yellow Band,

I do all three. I love to read the Sunday funnies, read the news on cnn.com and on my iPhone. I also love to watch the news on TV.

Thank you for the smoothie!

Have a great day,

Zimmy

I would love a smoothie, green or not, as soon as I finish my two cups of cream, with a bit of coffee.

No reason to pay for the newspaper anymore. I get all my information on line. I surf on my laptop while drinking my coffee. And there is always a tab for cnn.com open here and at work. I even do the crossword puzzles on line.

It is supposed to be 100 here in Sacramento on Monday. I am disappointed I spent the two whole days of Spring locked inside.

JustJo 06-18-2011 09:13 AM

Good morning everyone! :)

I slept in today...hope I didn't miss out on the smoothies! I'm starving, so might have to whip up some omelets for us...

http://healthy-chicks.com/wp-content...ie_omelet1.jpg

Nice to see new faces and old friends dropping in! Welcome!

I'm making lists of all the things to do before we leave, and I hear Scoote vacuuming in the other room already...two days to get ourselves organized and packed and then we are out of here!

Luckily a nice young man who works for Scoote is going to come stay in our hourse while we're gone, so we don't have to make arrangements for the animals or stopping the mail or anything like that...although I do have to make sure we have food here that he can fix and eat. He suggested Hot Pockets :|

I confess that I love reading an actual newspaper, and used to get the NY Times delivered (only the Sunday edition since I lived upstate). Savoring that and few cups of coffee was my favorite part of Sunday mornings. Since I've moved, I've been reading it online....still good....but not quite the same! :)

Have a great day everyone! :gimmehug:

I read several newspapers on line, but still get a sunday paper delivered. I wind down my sunday evenings by reading the actual paper. I'm trying to think where I was at yesterday, (DUH) that I saw four younger folks all sitting at a table, and they all had their phones out and all were flipping thru and texting away. I thought to myself, I see they enjoy each others company.......

Glad the smoothies were a hit...,and I kept Jo's kitchen all tidy. Now, for you early risers, I'll be awake making green smoothies long before the sun comes up tomorrow.

Have a great day, my bicycle is calling my name......(I just finished roasting off 8 sweet potatoes) will be doing different things with them during the up coming heat wave......)

My goodness, use sunscreen.

I'm curious...I have never had gravy and biscuits. Nor have I ever seen them, I don't think.

So, I am wondering...when people say I had "gravy and biscuits", is it always sausage gravy, or are there different types and this is why you are saying, "sausage gravy"?

Thought I'd make something substantial before the vacationers head out. I need a person to tend the grill, anyone up yet? Espresso, or Latte if you prefer, waiting on you....thats what I am sipping with biscotti.

I have these smoked pork chops, that I will baste with lite maple syrup and roll onto crushed cashews. They'll need to be grilled on the top rack of the grill.......

Inside the kitchen, I'm making pancakes with blueberries, and on the side watermellon slices. I'm engrossed in my laptop reading the news, come say hi.
