Today I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster and found a good doc on Amazon prime, called "without charity" about a small town murder. Today I had chatters around me. They weren't on phones but were chatting with each other, so it was annoying.

Wrangler, so you are getting bored with walking? Do you have a phone where you can listen to podcasts while you walk? Oh, well, that's something I like, what are you thinking of doing instead?

I listen to music while I walked. I have been looking at exercise equipment. I'll continue walking but it would be great to break it up with other things. I just need some variety. Even taking some sort of class would be great. So I'm exploring my options.

Any suggestions are welcome. I've lost 19.6 lbs and should reach my first goal sometime next week. I am happy about that.

I walked around at a huge farmer's market (most days walking is very painful)
I tried to mow my friend's yard with an old push mower.
Much later in evening, I unloaded 20 bags (out of 30) of top soil.
My body will hate me...

Gayandgray 08-26-2017 08:38 AM

I'll be double shifting in a nursing home that is ridiculously short of help today and tomorrow, so that will be my exercise!

Sunshine 08-26-2017 05:05 PM

Today I kicked it up a notch,

120 sit-ups.
22 push-ups.
85 counted for planks.
30 push-up position run in place.
5 different arm weight lifting.

I dance a bit in between. The music was good today.

I have lost 30 pounds since I started three months ago. Ten pounds a month is very good I think, especially when it's naturally.

Thanks guys, keep it up. I love this thread.

Have a great weekend.

Kenna 08-26-2017 05:20 PM

Met my sister at her "big house" to help her take several loads (after lifting and sorting several boxes) to charity and loaded my great grandma's ancient Hoosier cabinet in my truck. Then unloaded it for safe keeping until I can take it south.
I'm give out...this was physical and emotional exercise.

nycfem 08-26-2017 08:43 PM

Saturday night work-out for me. 30 minutes on the stairmaster. I did a pattern of two-minute intervals, levels 1-5, which makes it fun (to come up with patterns). I'm almost done with the Amazonprime doc "Without Charity" which has been such a winner.

Then I did 30 minutes of floor exercises (weight lifting, yoga, and general floor exercises).

The exercise felt great, but my back is stiff now, which will hopefully go away tomorrow.

The clock is ticking until the day after Labor Day when I go back to work!

Sunshine 08-27-2017 09:32 AM

What a beautiful quite Sunday Morning.

I got up at 5 am, got ready and worked out before I start my day. I have a lot to catch up on with homework. I did,

100 sit-ups
60 count planks
20 push-ups
20 push-up position running in place
5 arm weights, I usually do 6 pound weights with 10 reps, today I did 12 pound weights with 5 reps.

When I feel ready, I up my workout and when I don't feel well I simply rest.

I hope your back feels better today nycfem.

Have a great Sunday everyone and be safe.

nycfem 08-28-2017 08:57 PM

Today I did 30 minutes on the stair master (levels 1-5, intervals) while watching "Intervention" (so excited to be able to watch this on Hulu). I LOVE Intervention, even though it's emotionally hard to watch because it is usually so intense and sad. Sometimes the intervention works, though.

Then I did 30 minutes combined of weights, yoga, and floor exercises. My back was still stiff so I did my weights all from a sitting or balance ball position, and I didn't do heavy weights. My back feels great tonight, so, score!

Do you mean mountain climbers? They are hard!

Sunshine 08-29-2017 10:26 AM

[QUOTE=Gemme;1166060][B][SIZE="3"][COLOR="YellowGreen"]Do you mean mountain climbers? They are hard!

Yes, Gemme that's the one "Mountain climber" thanks.

You're telling me! I'm enjoying the challenge.

nycfem 08-30-2017 10:26 PM

Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster.

Today I also did 30 minutes on the stair master and then lifted weights and did floor exercises for 30 minutes combined.

I watched a true crime show on Hulu for the first time called "Nightmare next door." It was well-done because I didn't really know until the end who the murderer was.

Sunshine 08-30-2017 11:14 PM

I got up at 5 am to workout before it got hot. My father was a baker so it's not a problem for me to get up early. It's so peaceful!

Today I did,

100 sit-ups
10 push-ups
25 counted for planks
15 mountain climber
5 reps of 16 pounds arm weight.

I usually do 6 pound weights. I switch once in a while, depending on how I feel.

You all are awesome! Keep it up, your hard work will start to show. I see the definition in my stomach and I love it:blush:. I have asthma and with this heat, I don't feel it because I've been working out.

Have a beautiful day and be safe.

Thank you.

Gemme 08-31-2017 05:36 AM

I'm going to try to get back into the Escape workouts tomorrow.

Gemme 09-01-2017 05:17 AM

I did not do the Escape class.

Whoopsie.

Sunshine 09-01-2017 09:39 AM

As long as you keep trying Gemme. I didn't just get up one day and decided to workout lol I wish!

It's been over a hundred degrees in Los Angeles all week. I worked out once this week.

Just keep trying and don't give up. This forum is awesome because to me, we support each other regardless of how often or what we do. It's different for everyone, the pace, the weights and the exercise. Just an idea, maybe try something different and later change it again.

I love that there are no rules, as long as we keep moving lol Our bodies are not meant to sit still. (I'm rambling, sorry. Coffee kicked in haha!)

Try it again later Gemme ;).

Gayandgray 09-01-2017 02:03 PM

I got my fat butt down on my yoga mat out on my deck and did a half hour of Pilates. Then I got my axe out and cutdown a big tree limb that needed to come down. I'll be doing my double shifts this weekend at the nursing home plus Monday is my holiday to work, so I'll be getting plenty of exercise the next three days.:jester:

nycfem 09-01-2017 08:49 PM

Yesterday 30 minutes on the stairmaster and then today same thing. I watched a great Amazon Prime documentary about a man convicted of murder who was then found to be innocent by the Innocence Project! He was in jail for 25 years!

Sooo... today was a big day for me and Judith. We had our biggest conversation ever! She was in the locker room sleeping at 6 pm (on a Friday night), not having exercised since a yoga class at 1! Didn't I tell you she lives at the gym! So I woke her by putting my bag down (mean). She asked me if I just came from work, which was kind of funny because I was wearing my raggedy ass gym clothes. Maybe she was still semi-asleep. Anyway, her asking me this question allowed me to feel comfortable getting a little deeper with her. After I said blah blah blah about what I do for work, I asked her what she does. She can't be paid to watch t.v. all day at the gym, which is all I knew until now. She told me that she worked in finances, trading, investing, etc. Wow. The Life. Since we were having one of our few conversations not about the gym or the weather, I came out to her! I said, "My partner... [blah, blah, blah]." Sometimes if I'm not sure how someone will react to me being gay, I revert to the old-time "partner" instead of "wife." "Wife" sounds more aggressive- "See, I have rights just like you!" "Partner" evokes more of a small-time backyard commitment ceremony. I did then use "she" in reference to my "partner" so that she would know for sure what I meant. She didn't have a visible reaction. Hmmm, sometimes relationships get deeper just when you think they never will!

nycfem 09-05-2017 07:29 PM

I'm way behind on my reporting! 4 work-outs to report:

Friday- forget about Labor Day weekend early closing- grrrr, arrived and had to go home without even going inside!

Saturday- 30 min stairmaster, 30 min weightlifting and floor exercises

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday- 30 min stairmaster. I watched Ladyboys on Amazon Prime about trans Thai women. It's a doc t.v. series, very interesting, learned a lot.

Gayandgray 09-06-2017 08:45 AM

Yesterday I cut grass and did yard work for 3 and a half hours. Today I'm going to work out in the living room doing a walk in place thing on the exercise tv channel, then some Pilates later. It's pouring rain and my spouse is sick so I can't walk on the beach as planned. That's ok, this will do.

Kätzchen 09-09-2017 05:12 PM

Today, I rose early to get a load of laundry washed and dried....Then, I went for a long slow walk in my own neighborhood. Between those two things and a little bit of household chores (vacuum the carpet, clean the bathroom and going up and down three flights of stairs, took a lot of energy.

But.....I lost about 12 pounds since a couple weeks ago. Not from exercise but from being incredibly sick. My doctor still hasn't called me back with the lab results, but the doctor felt I got the season's first round of an norovirus flu of some sort.

So that's about it for exercise today. :rrose:

Gayandgray 09-13-2017 05:07 PM

Yesterday I did a walking in the house workout for 15minutes. Today I did 20 minutes and 10 minutes of stretching.:hangloose::hangloose:

cinnamongrrl 09-13-2017 06:15 PM

I spent the day doing renovation on the house. My arms, shoulders and core say it counts. :)

Gayandgray 09-14-2017 09:31 AM

I did a half hour walking indoors workout.:hangloose: Can't really walk outside right now since my spouse isn't feeling well and I'd have to hurry back if she calls me. So I do the Walk away the Pounds workout inside and it works for me!

Gayandgray 09-19-2017 10:56 AM

Ive been doing the indoor walking workouts every day except this weekend since I worked. I finally found an exercise that I can do that I enjoy, so hopefully I can get some weight off. I'm practicing portion control too and watching what I eat. Fruit instead of sweets (cake, cookies, pie), etc. Wish me luck!!

Sunshine 09-19-2017 08:16 PM

Good for you Gayandgray! It's what works for you that counts, we are all different.

I just started my 3rd quarter of Medical Transcription and Editing, full-time online student. Three quarters until I finish. I made sure I have weights next to my desk and every morning, 5 days a week I have been doing (today)

100 sit-ups. I started to meet my left elbow with my right knee and it's working wonders with my external oblique's.
10 push-ups
1 minute plank
15 mountain climbing and I switched this as well. I meet my left knee with my right side when I bring it up.
10 reps with 2 six pound arm weights in different directions.

I just make sure I do something 5 days a week. I don't push myself if I can't but I try to do as many as possible. By the time I graduate, around July 2018, I will be fit, ready to work and play hard. I can't wait!

Gayandgray 09-20-2017 09:17 AM

I did a 40 minute fast paced indoor walk today.:hangloose::hangloose:

Chad 09-21-2017 10:54 AM

Exercise

Now that the heat is under 100 degrees my friend and I have been walking 30 minutes everyday again.

Feels great!

Gayandgray 09-21-2017 09:19 PM

I mowed grass and weed-wacked today.:hangloose:

cinnamongrrl 09-22-2017 08:21 AM

More renovations.

It's a good upper body work out for sure. I need to get more hiking in to balance it out.

Gayandgray 09-22-2017 11:56 AM

A moderate paced 45 minute indoor walk.

In my opinion, exercise constitutes doing something for oneself :) good for you sweetie!

girl_dee 09-23-2017 04:52 PM

15 minutes on the tread mill..

two power walks each 15 minutes

Sunshine 09-25-2017 02:32 PM

I workout hard so when I get busy and miss some days, I don't feel bad about it. I love food lol I would rather workout and eat what I want.

Today I did,

100 Sit-ups
20 Pushups
1 min Plank
20 Mountain Climbers
12 and/or 6 lbs each side arm weights to workup arms and chest.

I would rather sometimes use less weight when I'm tired than not workout.

You all are simply awesome and inspirational to my workout on many levels. I hope I give that back

Thank you!♥

Gayandgray 09-26-2017 06:15 PM

Well I didn't post yesterday that I walked the boardwalk for about 5 miles. Today I didn't walk but I scrubbed half of my spouse's wheelchair ramp on my hands and knees. I ran out of deck cleaner or I would have probably did the whole thing. It's a huge winding ramp and I was sweating.:hangloose:

Gemme 09-26-2017 09:44 PM

I'm so far off the wagon, I can't even see the wheels any more.

Gayandgray 09-27-2017 06:50 PM

Mowed the lawn today:hangloose::hangloose:

Sunshine 09-27-2017 08:59 PM

Hi,

Gemme keep trying, I honestly believe everything in its own time. It just depends on when you're ready.

Gayandgray I loveee the smell of fresh grass lol. Good for you!

Yesterday I did my

100 situps
20 push-ups
12 and 6 lb weights depending on the arm workout
2 min plank

and I realized, the weather outside is perfect and I would love a change of scenery from studying and working out. I fixed my bicycle today
. I'm in the city, I think it best to ride from 10 to 11 am (traffic down time).

I am so looking forward to tomorrow, I hope I sleep tonight I'm so excited!

Be safe everyone.

Sunshine 09-28-2017 02:03 PM

I had been putting off riding my bike because the gears wouldn't shift. I work on my car but those are big parts lol and when I fix my computer it doesn't have gears. I needed to research and all it needed was WD40 of all things, YES!

I found a street leading to near by hills with minimal cars on the road. It was meant to be. I did 4 miles today and it felt soooo good.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Gayandgray 09-28-2017 04:22 PM

Today I finished scrubbing down the wheelchair ramp. Had my knee pads on since I did it on my hands and knees! Took about 3 and a half hours. Plus I did an indoor walking workout for half an hour.:hangloose:
