one of many...
I am thankful for people who know that, no matter what, my porch light is always on (metaphorically speaking, of course) and that all they have to do is rap softly at the door and I will open it and welcome them back...
(this presupposes they aren't dangerous-crazy or haven't crossed The Line) more that life got in the way of things and now it's more manageable so a pleasant connection can be resumed... n |
I am grateful for only having between 2 and 3 feet of snow. I would be grateful to have seen a snowplow and salt truck. But I didn't. I am so very grateful to my kind, loving neighbors who shoveled me out, both my sidewalks and cars. No matter what, they always help me out. I am grateful my power did not go out like so many did loose power.
I am hoping that this second storm will not be another major blizzard. I have had enough snow for now. The forecast is for another 20 inches or so. I am so hoping not. Andrew |
for making mistakes and trying to learn from them

I am eternally grateful for the gift of laughter and humor...for without being able to just laugh my ass off over something I think life would be pretty bleak....Humor allows your spirit to be lifted out of its normal shell...

I'm grateful for:
1. A great job that connects me with other Vets, and I'm grateful for all of the wonderful stories they tell about the things they've done and the difference they've made in this world. It reminds me to never forget the obligation that I have to also make a positive difference for those who will follow after me. It also reminds me of the value of humility. Everyone has a story to tell. 2. I'm grateful for the love of a wonderful woman. This reminds me that love also commands respect, patience and devotion. It also requires the work of the heart, and there is nothing as sacred as that. 3. I am grateful for the enduring love and support of my friends and family. It reminds me of the connection we all have to each other. No one walks the path alone, though sometimes I tend to live too much inside myself and withdraw. We all need each other. 4. I am grateful for all of the many material things I have in my life, because they remind me of where I've been before, when I didn't have them. There is a quiet satisfaction in enjoying the fruits of hard work and sacrifice. It reminds me to continue to be charitable to others who don't have all that I do, and that some are far more worthy of these blessings than I. It also reminds me that life itself is a game of chance and choice. We take a chance and hope the choice pans out to be the right one. As Mother says, "Fortune favors the bold". 5. I am grateful for Myron, who always shows me how even the smallest of lives can impact larger ones. The sweetest of loves can sometimes come in the smallest of packages, indeed. :frog::awww: ~Theo~ :bouquet: |

This is an extremely, extremely, extremely difficult time. I don't have enough words —right words— to express my thanks to God for pulling me through a time like this. I didn't think I would make it. My thanks is deep and silent because there are just... no... words.

One of my friends on Facebook posted this about gratitude on her status... and I just had to repost it!
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. |
where do I start?
I am grateful for life experiences. The calmness and serenity that is earned through living through difficult times is such a blessing.
I'm grateful for good health, and the ability, motiviation and drive to keep plugging along, despite the cracks, creaks and groans of time creeping up on me. I am grateful for love. My love. And hers. The love I feel makes me strive to be a better person, and her love for me leaves me breathless. And I am grateful for our unconventional family. A little goat-butt named Petey, and a blender with claws named Baxie. lil shits... There's a whole lotta gratitude going on over here. |
Gratitude for Today:
*Family, Friends, and Animals
*Small Acts of Kindness Shown to Me, esp. in Dino's 3rd Birthday Thread *Getting a Coupon in the Mail for $.99 Large Coffee at Dunkin' Donuts *When I was out at NIH, I left my wallet with Rosie in case she needed it for money for my sister. Not even thinking of this, I walked out and went downstairs to get a newspaper for my bio-father, and coffee for my mother. Well, after standing in line 20 min. I got up to the cashier. I went for my wallet, and it wasn't there. A very kind stranger, told me not to worry about it, and bought both for me. I was speechless. I said thank you. But I was still speechless. Nobody has ever done anything like that for me before. If I went back upstairs empty handed I knew I would be verbally attacked by my bio-father. Now I was safe. Out of harms way you could say. |
I am grateful for the clarity of mind to know it is really for the best, my best.:laundryday: |
