Call 911 immediately if you suspect that you or someone else is having a stroke.

TIA and StrokeAlthough they are similar, a stroke and a TIA, or transient ischemic attack, are not the same. A stroke causes symptoms that last for at least 24 hours, while the symptoms caused by a TIA usually improve within 30 minutes. While a TIA is not as severe as a stroke, people who experience a TIA may be at a greater risk to have a stroke.

So I suffered both within a week, had I not known the signs and what to do
prior to the ER there was a great chance of suffiering a severe stroke,
and permanent paralaysis.
Knowledge is power.

Great post..So glad you saw it coming. Thank your lucky stars and Shaman and the universe that is soooo big. Good news to hear you are better too.

My friend Milana is GETTING BETTER>was off the ventialtor all day yesterday, was able to spell her name (moving her mouth as she still has the trach/O2) , and raised her eyebrows when I told dumb jokes.

Suzi K. a woman I worked with ignored the TIA's, was at a meeting at work and totally stroked out. It was a long raod to recovery.
Thanks for thinking of others, and please, take good care of yourself. She was busy taking care of a sick husband and a teenage daughter. Plus she decided to diet and eat zero fat, and I think her brain was starving. Thus, my desire to stay away from diets:byebye:

After getting a great deal of run~around from her doctors, as well as a couple of additional TIA's, SD called her hometown doctor. THIS doctor advised her to come home and he would take care of it!!!

SO. I got a call from SD a little bit ago.....they are on their way to East Tennessee as I type this ~ home for both of them, so SD's family will be cared for while she undergoes the day surgery for the stint tomorrow.

She sounded relieved to finally get some help on this.

I'll let You know as I hear and am given permission to relay.

Wishing Spirit Dancer a successful surgery with good, fast healing! Love and hugs, Jennifer

I spoke briefly to SD last evening....she was a bit sleepy from the anesthesia still.....I rec'd some very interesting texts before that! lol

ANYway...they performed an angioplasty instead of the stints and everything is clear now. This was a lot more preferable than the stints, too. She is relieved that FINALLY a doctor took some action!

This explains why when she talked to me yesterday afternoon, I didn't quite grasp everything. Her phone kept cutting out in the hospital.........I can see clearly now, thanks.

Oh and the text I got before the call was asking for me to come rescue her. This must've been before the anesthesia.

I'm just glad it's taken care of and she's on the road to recovery......YAY!!!!

SD, I'm still keeping the faith. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayer along with your family.

She knew, if anyone can rescue a femme, It Would Be the Wolfy One. I know your history Dude. You, the one whose life centers about rescue. Why don;t you start a rescue 501c3
.

Spirit Dancer, many thoughts and prayers for you and your supportive family. i know how important it is at a time of illness to have those things.

I am glad the Magic in the World of Radiology helped you (ahem..my past life :) )

Medical stuff is scary, but we have come so far and can save so many lives . I am glad you are on the happy road to recovery. Now, just watch for Railroad Crossings and driving too fast, and the corners that can kill. Rest, Recover, and take breaks 3/day.

Doctor Thomas's Rx.
