I was JD at the Dash site- nothing clever there, it's just what I go by in real life.... but when I tried to register as JD here, it wouldn't accept a name less than 3 letters.
I knew any modification to "JD" would prompt the question "are you the JD from the Dash site?" so I figured I'd cut to the chase and call myself The JD. My little plan backfired, however- it seems to make some people even more insistent about checking. Maybe I should have chosen The Same JD. |
My screen name was taken from the fact that I like to....hold on...SCUBA. Shocking and wildly unexpected I know ;)

I am referred to as Miss or Ma'am or Mama all the time, Ma'am J doesnt flow, Mama J is what my god daughter calls me so I rather like Miss and J is the first initial of my first name. so Miss_J

About 15 years ago, my two best friend's daughter couldn't say my name so she started calling me deedawino. Her mom's ran with it...I have been deedarino ever since.

Mine is my real name as well -- legally changed from my birth name in 2007 -- I use it everywhere so decided to change the "screen name" (Celtic Spirit) to just my name :)

My name comes from the three things I love on a deep level and have since I was a little girl- the sea, the stars, and silver (sparklies!).

yay real names! mine isn't my legal or birth name (haven't had the money to change it) but it is my real name, hehe. :) sometimes i've considered changing it to a nickname because i talk about one issue here that i'm not completely out about (being a sex worker), but i prefer to use my real name whenever possible.

I probably wouldnt have been able to change my name legally had I still been living in IL or CA because on those 2 states, you have to take out an ad for a certain number of weeks and then go through the courts; but here in WA, it was $100 and a trip to the local courthouse (didnt even have to go downtown) with a form I filled out and signed. I was in and out in under an hour. :winky:

I don't know where my name came from... I used to be Quintessa, a name I chose as I'd had the same screen name for years, yet needed to join a site semi-anonymously. I guess when I came here Quintease sounded more like me.
