In hindsight it is the little things.....like her smile, her voice, her laugh, her immature silliness that used to drive me crazy and eventually had me yelling "grow the **** up!" and to which she would laugh because she knew she got to my core. LOL! Her gifted insight to see things in the future. The fact that she always remembered me when she was out of the house and brought little gifts home. Her stealing my clothes just to wear them and to feel close to me. The little things....*nods.

spending 30 mins pruning and weeding to get to the back of the blackberry bushes because that is where the big ripe berries lived...

It is the little things like...

Strong, welcoming and enveloping arms

The kindest, most loving eyes that have ever looked upon me

Smiles that melted the the most protected and afraid heart into a puddle of joy

When he says things like, "I love you; you can have whatever you want," and all I want is him.

Text reminders that she is thinking of you

...his caring for my comfort enough to carry beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler of cold drinks down to the beach

...his noticing that the back yard was getting scruffy and mowing and edging it completely just because it needed it

...his putting gas in my car...paying and pumping...because it needed doing and the smell of gas makes me feel icky

...him assembling the new fans....rather than me doing it and cussing. I can assemble stuff and have done a ton with this house, but it stresses me out and he knows it

...him running to the store for ice and bread because we need them, instead of expecting me to do it

...talking about building raised beds, and the kiwis and tomatoes and peppers we will grow

...it's having a partner in life....the "we're in this together" and working together towards a goal and handling the tasks of daily life together kind

That He offers to help me get comfy on the bed with the heating pad because He knows I hurt THAT bad...

That He stands patiently in the makeup section while I pick out what I want/need... and then pays for it even though He doesn't need to

That He HELPS.. with cleaning, cooking, picking up around the house, etc.

When His hand rests on the small of my back while we walk through the store

That He thinks of AWESOME dates, like going to the batting cages!

showing that I care for her by waking up with her in the morning on my day off to spend time with her and make her some breakfast before she leaves for work. It's little things like "actions" sometimes.. I didn't miss a drop of sleep, loved the conversation and took advantage of the time together being we work conflicting schedules. :)

For me being single, I don't need a partner to appreciate the little things....
Listening instead of tuning out

Making me laugh

Distracting me from stress instead of adding to it

Taking me to breakfast and helping with chores

True worry for our comfort ...making sure we have what we need to live comfortable ...like getting pharmaceuticals we need and necessary things for home

Not pushing my boundaries and respect when I need space (physical and emotional)

(The next wasn't done by a partner or companion, but done by a very respectful young man that drove all the way from another county to help me)...changing my oil on a blistering hot day without complaint or grumbling ....driving many miles to meet me at house.
