Well, if I have my druthers its Yuengling, (traditional or light) otherwise I will drink (slowly) Bud lite or Coorslight. But never...never Miller in any form!

So many beers, so little time!

Guinness is my "go-to" beer for sure, as well as New Belgium 1554 (Both go great with a Maduro wrapped cigar, btw.).

My sexy Canadian girlfriend has been keeping me supplied with some great Canadian beer too.

Dale's Pale Ale is another great beer too.

Shiner Ruby Redbird is a VERY nice summer beer! Yum!

I plan to try my hand at home brewing again at some point, but it can take up some space so will probably wait until I have a garage.

Great thread!

Yummy!

Very, very interesting. I have never thought (or heard of), a fruity beer with a shot of stout. Hmmm...

Corkey 11-12-2013 08:29 PM

For mah b-day I got some Sam Adams Christmas Spiced Ale. It has cinnamon and a hint of orange. It was delicious.

i had this on draft a while back. it is a high ABV so i only had 4 oz.

it is a founders beer and it starts out smelling fruity while tasting hoppy and it ends very spicy. i want to eat a meal with this beer soon but i haven't been able to find it anywhere in town.

Cailin 11-16-2013 08:45 PM

When and if I ever do indulge, It's a Woodchuck Hard Cider for me. yum! And for my love muffin, I think I've turned him on to Texas' very own Shiner Bock.

Sounds interesting. I would try this one.

Hmmm Beer! Found a low carb light beer I really like. Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus. I sprinkle lime salt on top and it is yummy! I also like the thin cans lol!

Be veeeery careful. I have gotten a beer gut from enjoying more and more different brews over the last couple of years...there are just too many coming out nowadays!

But, if my favorites weren't the Imperial Stouts (looking at close to 300 calories a bottle for the ones I like) or Imperiral IPAs (looking at mid 200's), it wouldn't be as bad!

So, be forwarned your "Dad's beer" is no doubt lower in calories than anything your brother (who seems to like craft brews) will offer you.

Just mentioning the above as I know that you are into physical fitness.

Speaking of fatty beers... we just put a Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean Porter into primary fermentation the other day and our Wildflower Wheat (brewed with chamomile) is ready for secondary fermentation. As you can tell it's obviously a no calorie summer!

Any other home/hobby brewers?

weatherboi 08-03-2014 01:04 PM

i am drinking an Aviator DEVILS TRAMPING GROUND TRIPEL. It is a canned Belgian, brewed by the Aviator Brewing Company.

It is a typical, high APV, Tripel. Goes well with a turkey sandwich.

Okiebug61 08-03-2014 01:52 PM

I have been on a kick of drinking Ultra Light Lime Cactus. It is great tasting light beer.

cinnamongrrl 08-03-2014 02:38 PM

my new love :)

Can't get a picture to load but....

Pisgah Ale..

If you're ever near western NC....come get you one :)

MsTinkerbelly 08-03-2014 03:42 PM

I don't drink much any more, but when i played blackjack, or sat out by the pool, i used to l.o.v.e. Miller high life in the bottle.

Shiner bock Prickly Pear

It's so good, they ran out!

imperfect_cupcake 08-03-2014 04:11 PM

My local is a very affordable brew house. They have about 60 beer on tap every day. I love pale ales that are crisp, malt beers rather than hoppy ones, and I love a very well done fruit beer. There's a Belgian strawberry one that is amazing but its 7% so it can kick you in the head. Also a nice kiwi strawberry one from Sweden.
I love the dark smooth, malt, vanilla ales too.

OMG the strawberry lime one is the best thing I've ever tasted!!! Add a shot of good tequila to it (like patron) and its booze of the gods.

I can definitely enjoy a good Tripel.

A Portland Maine brewed beer.

Allagash White....

Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

So so so good.

I Like Beer!

My fave summer beers right now are Steam Works pale ale and
Okanagan Spring pale ale

In the winter I like IPAs

Pretty good list, but I dunno how I feel about legitimate startups competing with the likes of Dogfish Head, New Belgium and O'Dells.

Finals for the day are done, time for a Colorado Kölsch

The two brands I have grown to love this year after trying many of their beers is 21st Amendment and 3rd Wave Brewery Company. Usually I only like 1 or 2 beers from a brewer, but I really like many of them from both of these companies.

It ain't summer without it...

Del's Narragansett lemon shandy.

Leinenkugel's makes a Summer Shandy that's okay. It's a definite lager/lemonade mix. Way back when before they bottled it, I only ever had shandies in bars overseas... so, now days, if I'm gonna ruin my beer...:sunglass: I prefer a shandy or Radler that's mixed with something along the lines of 7up or Sprite.

I keep hoping 3rd Wave Brewing will turn out to be a group of radical ecofeminists... not so much!

Make your own. Take a crisp lager, a stronger one and add anywhere from two ounces (shandy top) to 1/3 of the pint of sparking lemon pop. That's how it's done in the pubs.

Or you can squeeze half a lemon in your beer.

That's it, you order the beer you want and say "shandy top" or "shandy"

I always had a Stella shandy top in the summer.

http://www.drinksupermarket.com/medi...500ml_temp.jpg

It's suppose to be a refreshing, light, easy to drink, less alcohol option. So don't mix with microbrew ales or anything. Pick a halfway decent middle of the road lager. I personally love shandy when it's hot out.

Until I looked up their name to see if it was Third Wave or 3rd Wave SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS THREAD, I completely believed it was a feminism thing.

Maybe because the first time I had it I was in a lesbian pub at a homo beach which is near the brewery? The beer I was ordering was called "1st Wave" and they told me the name of the brewer was "3rd wave". What was I supposed to think?

Disappointing, for sure.

DapperButch 08-05-2014 07:41 PM

Sooo, back to beer. My current favorite of 3rd Wave is 1st Wave (an IPA), on tap.

My favorite 21st Amendment is "Back in Black", which is a Black IPA. Their beers come in cans...the best way to bottle a beer! Cans are for sure making a come back for that reason.
