Consumption of alcohol or alcoholism has no place in my life anymore. I attend Al-anon, I have a sponsor in the program too. Alcohol does nothing for me. I used to partake of alcohol on rare occasion, maybe once a year, an casual sip at a social function, but alcoholism is prevalent in my family. My dad was an dry alcoholic, his behaviors were atrocious, my youngest son is an alcoholic, but I don't suffer from alcoholism except to say I suffered far too long with members of my own family who are alcoholics, and alcoholism. I won't date or even partner with anyone who is an alcoholic. I won't even date or partner with anyone in recovery.

Most people from the "old" chat room know that I'm not a fan of company!
I don't mind if they come to visit and stay at a hotel, that works for me:hangloose: |
I truly dislike use of the words: bitch, slut, lady, and classy.
The first two because they are used to degrade women ( no matter how playfully used) even, and maybe particularly, by women. The second two because they are essentially meaningless beyond the 19th Century and always used by the wrong people. |
I am extremely private about my life off of the site.

Too much noise overwhelms me. It hurts my nerves, if you know what I mean. I love music and I even play it loudly every once in a while. Then I need silence. Sweet silence. At least for a short while.

Offline, I am a recluse. Well, my partner claims that in order to be a recluse, it means that you're hiding from something. I rarely exit my apartment except for errands. She calls me a "hermit."
Also, rarely talk on the phone. In fact, don't even have one. Communicate almost exclusively by computer. |

Most introverts are rarely lonely. I am OH SO happy right here in my happy little home playing online and entertaining myself. When i go out, i just can't wait to get home. Its my happy place. I do not like to speak on the phone either!!! |

I love Winter...will hate to see it go (got more snow coming, YAY). |
I too am getting to be a recluse. I rarely go out except for my grand daughter, some errands and work. Tomorrow I am going out with my best friend for the first time in over a year. She lives only10 minutes from me!
When i was younger I had many social occasions I enjoyed. A night with the symphony. Rodeos. Shopping sprees. Parties. You name it, I loved going to it. And I was quite the extrovert. As I age, I am finding a quiet center, and a need to nest within my own small space of a life. I have a HUGE life, but compared to the great world out there, it is just small. I wouldnt say I am an introvert but I no longer want that exposure and attention. |
I don't eat hot food (see previous post regarding not liking soup) or drink hot drinks. No :tea: for me thankyouverymuch

Getting to know you
I have always been the same person that I am now. From my earliest memory I have known who I am. When I was in second grade I had three girlfriends. Haha!
Being me is not always easy but atleast I know who I am. |

I choose to live life on a positive & happy note! We get back what we give out, I believe! |
I'm actually a cheap wad, in my family, I don't like to part with my money. I actually have a very hard time paying full price for products and feel like I'm getting ripped off by certain stores.
|
when I was a little girl, as I was crossing the road to get the mail for my mother, I was almost hit by a car. I distinctly remember being moved by a spiritual entity, out of harm's way. I looked back onto the road, disbelieving what happened, once I was on the other side. My own mother couldnt fathom how I wasnt hit. She said it was a blur...
|
I was born with a club foot and a cleft chin.
 |
I was hit by cars twice as a kid and on the same street. It was my oldest brother's fault. He crossed in the middle of a busy street and made me stay on the other side and then he looked both way, told me run sis, they won't hit you...big fat liar got in so much trouble from my dad. I had to go to ER, but don't remember much except someone at the little grocery store catching me when I flew off the car. Someone up there was watching out for me both times.

I grew up watching The Little Rascals when they were first on tv...and they inspired me greatly as a lil girl who lived out on the farm way out in the country. I didnt have other kids to pal around with so they literally were my "neighborhood kids". I have lots of stories to tell about this, lol. One such story is..
one day...I got ahold of my dad's kite string, and cornered the farm cat. He was a big ole black tom cat that was really indifferent to me, unlike the female who always purred around my legs. I think his indifference is why I picked him for this. I got into my mom's trash bag and took out three cans...she always left the lids on but flipped up. (not after this..lol) I tied the cans onto the cat string..then tied the other end of the string onto the cat's tail... in my kid's mind I thought he would just run and the cans would clang and then fall off... instead...when I let him go, he ran screaming across the yard, oh the cans were clanging alrighty, but he ran UP a tree and the string wrapped around the trunk, and he wound himself around and around the closest branch until he was hanging upside down... now I know how cruel this was....and how tight I had tied that string to his tail...and how long my mother left me unsupervised... but thankfully my mom heard the cat caterwalling...and came out. She saw what was happening and ran into the kitchen to get a knife..she had to climb the tree (my mother was very short but very round) and cut the cat down while it was hissing and clawing at her.... I was hickory switched that day..... |

I prefer living alone. I've had relationships as long as 8 years where we lived together, but I'm never really quite relaxed when someone else is in the house, or might come home. What if I want to walk around naked? What if I want to tap dance in the kitchen at 3 a.m.? What if I want to use my Magic Wand when everyone's asleep? (Those things are great, but they're loud.) I realize this is a really privileged position, but I'm really lucky to be able to live alone most of the time.
