Shhhhh... Gonna say this very quietly...

The scale moved this morning. Could've been a fluke....don't know. I'll check again at the end of the month.

Lunch was kinda weired today,I had artichoke hearts (4) a hand full of black olives, two slices of chedar cheese(low fat),6 whole wheat crackers,1 can of tuna packed in water with a diet coke to drink.I pulled a day shift at the country club to day so Im glad about that part, then tonight for dinner I made a salad with a dribble of ranchdressing toped with thin slices of steak about 6 with water to drink.
On the local night news had a spot about stroke triggers,in it were a lot of the things that my doc told me to eat on my food plan, stuff like milk, eggs, cheese, cracker, chips of all kinds...soda of all kinds..coffee..any kind of potatos, meat (red) on an on and fried foods. All I know is im eating healther than I have in years, drinking atleast 4 -20 bottles of water a day plus im exersiseing as much as I can even tho I must say not in the gym as much as I was I am doing things to be active. One reason I slowed down at the gym was bordedom the other was I started to have some joint probs in my shoulders and upper back.I dont know if I did something to start it up or was it just time for an issue with it(my back has a mind of its own).
Then I have to own up to palying a lot of pool hear lately,so far my ladies team is three points ont of the top spot,if we win tomorrow night we will be able to have a shot at going to vegas to compeat,we missed it last year by a hair.Anyhoo life is about the same hear, takeing it one day at the time.Every one keep up with the good work in our quest to be healther, one meal at the time we will get there.

Shop tomorrow!!! :D

Our mornings are chilly now, and this morning I put on a relatively "fitted" thermal shirt. I normally only wear these *under* t-shirts because I do not like the way they lay on my spare tire.

But this morning, it mostly laid flat.

Progress.

Well, look at all these fabulous healthy folks this morning!

I didn't weigh last week because I was being a pansy... I KNEW I didn't stick to my plan as well as I should have (yeah, too many beers). I forced myself to get on the scale this morning, and luckily I lost 1 pound forever! I know, not a lot for two weeks, but at least the scale is going in the right direction! I was at a standstill again, so I'm glad to see the damn thing moving again :)

Breakfast:
a 3 pack of chicken minis from Chick fil A (7 WW points)
an apple

I work the 2nd job tonight, so I'll be hitting up Subway at lunch for a ham & turkey footlong with lots of veggies that I can eat for lunch & dinner. Oh, if you haven't tried their new yogurt parfaits... they are YUMMY! It's vanilla yogurt, with strawberries & blueberries with granola.

Snacks:
baby carrots
celery sticks with a lil' peanut butter

We went out to dinner last night, and I stuck to my eating plan...and had a delicious meal. I was strong, and passed on the cheese fries appetizer that the others shared.

We were at Outback and I had green salad with tangy tomato (non fat) dressing, the 6 oz. cut of filet mignon and steamed mixed veggies (which was a mix of summer squash, pea pods, broccoli and carrots).

I also had a nice glass of shiraz. :)

I just saw a commercial for a Carnitas burrito.

Something like that can trigger a craving. I have not eaten anything over 10 grams of fat in a month or so (last month had a Costco all-beef hotdog).

Just seeing that commercial has gotten me obsessing about a King Taco (a very small, authentic Mexican food chain in greater LA area) Carnitas burrito.

I just hate when that happens. I always have to decide if it is worth it to give in. Probably not now that I am having to take a Lipitor pill each night for my cholesterol. Kind of defeats the purpose of taking a pill that makes me nauseous!

Not as easy to replace that image with salmon but I will work on it today.

Hugs all,

Hugs all,

Oh I feel ya on that one! Sometimes I can see a commercial for one of my favorite restaraunts (or someone might just mention it) and I swear I can't get it off my brain. It does suck... because no matter what you eat, it's never gonna be what you want. Stay strong honey... you can do it!

One of my coworkers mentioned Luby's square fish yesterday... and I'm freakin' telling you, I was trying everything in my power trying to talk myself into going. I knew if I went, not only would I have the fish, but I would get the candied yams or mac & cheese. I would have said I was gonna just get the fish & a salad, but the instant I saw that comfort food I would have been all over it.

((((HUGS)))))

Congrats Pinkie on the loss, any loss is a good loss!! I am a bit apprehensive tomorrow, but I do want to know where I am. And Hack, hope you bought a new suit. Anya, your determination makes my insides smile... good on ya!! Jo you passed on cheese fries, you get a high five. Thinker, a flatter spare tire, you do inspire me!!

I absolutely understand seeing something (or hearing) and then craving it after. I have had to talk myself out of my cravings oh possibly once, maybe even twice :giggle: !!

Last night I went to my power lifting class. I left the extra weight off, and then regretted it after cause I really did have run to push further than I did. However, I was grateful after because I went to gay yoga and he worked us. Long poses with the muscles working hard to keep still and strong. I was really grateful I had gone to power class before. My muscles were warm and strong and I had no difficulty holding the poses. I think this will be my Wednesday routine since gay yoga changed from Sundays to Wednesday.

This morning I did take a vitamin with my morning shake. I can feel my legs asking me "WTF". I have zumba in the public square at noon, it is the last one. Then I am going to my regular Thursday evening yoga but this one taught by an army instructor... Feel the shaking, Breathe through the shaking, shaking is good.... That is his favorite saying. And I do breathe through the shaking, but I am not always convinced that shaking is good :thud:.

foxyshaman 09-22-2011 02:05 PM

And Now

Yesterday I discovered a way to do a dead lift that actually stretches the muscles between my shoulder blades and I thought "ahhh good"

Now...

I feel all those muscles between my shoulder blades

and the ones down my spine

all the way down my spine

One Day

I will be the bendy girl WITH triceps:heavyweight:

Not today, but one day

Fish taco? Use fresh and/or low fat and low sodium ingredients and give it a whirl.

Whooohooo Pinkie! One pound gone forever!

On the topic of cravings, I am craving brisket smothered in bbq sauce with steak fries dipped in country gravy! Yummy! Actually eating string cheese *sigh*

Almost Friday! Yay!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Cowboi 09-22-2011 07:39 PM

I am still coasting right now, but I do feel much better. Still weight the same, so thats good...no gain. Now, its time to get rid of some more pounds!!!!

Kelt 09-22-2011 08:52 PM

Well, I did myself in again.

After practicing for a few days with my walking poles to be sure I wouldn’t skewer/kabob my own foot I just had to start doing this barefoot. It is fabulous!

It is also the functional equivalent of slow X-country skiing on a belt sander; so after four ten mile days of it I walked right through the skin on the bottom of my foot.

Looks like I’m back in shoes for a few days.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am happy since I did very well yesterday at our International Food Day at work! My homemade macaroni salad was a hit with everyone and I kept away from the cookies but treated myself to a small slice of red velvet cake. Tomorrow is my five year old niece's birthday party and thank goodness it is at a bowling alley!

Here is the recipe for the macaroni salad and feel free to modify it:

About half of a box of elbow macaroni
One can of albacore tuna
Half of a bag of Green peas <I used the frozen ones; less salt>
About three tablespoons of Olive Oil Mayo

Enjoy and here is some dancing music!
