Busy day today...I'm back at work, first day since vacation and my inbox is overflowing with email and issues....fun, fun, fun.

I had to work at 7am this morning, but since I didn't get to take a lunch break, I was able to leave at 2:30p. I came home to take a two hour long nap and woke up somewhat rejunvinated..Hehe..

A nap sounds like heaven...I managed one while we were on vacation, but I wanted one today too. :)

Hi Dapper...long time no see in the kitchen! And, you're right....I fail miserably as a napper and truly wish I could do better. Sleeping is not my strong suit. :(

Luckily, today is a day with only one measly conference call...unheard of....so I actually get to spend some of my work time thinking, planning, catching up on paperwork and all of those other more fun things that I get to do from home in my pajamas. In fact, today will involve much spreadsheet number-crunching, which always puts a smile on my face (yes, I'm weird like that!).

Scoote had a busy, long day at work yesterday, so she's still :alarm: :kissy:

Jo Jo, love the numbers crunching. Hope work didn't kick Scoote's butt and that hys back is doing good. I got a letter in the mail, telling me, that I no longer was going to get unemployment. I cracked up laughing, since I haven't applied for it since May. Thank you for breakfast!!!! I am adding some chocolate soymilk.

Dapper, I love to take a nap when my body won't stay up any longer, and so far, I am doing good!

Zimmy, that sounds delicious but I will have to take a pass this morning. My honey has placed his order and I actually feel like cooking.

Heck, I have been cooking so much lately, I am beginning to wonder what's come over me. :seeingstars:

Our main plan for today is a road trip to visit a friend and take him homemade individually packaged meals to reheat since he isn't up to fixing anything for himself right now. It should be a good day for a road trip and it will be wonderful to see him.

Jo, I can honestly say I don't miss having a job with conference calls. Let me build a spreadsheet, or work with one, and I am in heaven.

Thanks for keeping the kitchen up and running Zimmy...it's been a busy few days! I was actually up and working a bit past midnight last night (we launched a new feature online and I had to test and sign off on my part of it), so the alarm felt like it was going off mighty early this morning.

There are a few important things on my desk to finish before the weekend...a conference call/project team meeting I have to lead (and I hear you on the conference call vs. spreadsheet thing Andrea! :) )...then a call with my former boss' boss to talk about her vision for our department and my role (should be interesting)....and then a, hopefully, relaxing 3 day weekend.

You are very welcome and I was having fun doing it. I finished cleaning out my storage unit yesterday and now I have to clean my car out...I was up for the last two nights out of three, staying up until after 2am with a friend. I have never laughed so hard in my life and when I woke up the next morning, my lungs hurt.

Hope you can finish all of your work so you and the family can have a blast at the beach! I finish working at 2:30p on Monday, so I will be able to enjoy something of my 4th of July.

My honey and I have been concentrating on the yard, garden and completing errands this week. Not sure how it happened but we have been notified there will be dinner for six, with laughter and conversation at our house tonight. Guess we need to concentrate on the neglected inside of the house. It shouldn't take too long but I am really not in the mood to dust and vacuum.

I don't understand why we are meeting at our little house when they all have much bigger homes. :| Must have something to do with the love in this house. :cheer:

Zimmy, you make me tired just hearing about it. LOL When is the move?

LOL I just realized we have other friends that invited themselves to our place on Monday so that my honey can make them bbq. They are bringing all the food. In this case, our place is bigger than theirs. LOL

You know, I'd come here more often if you'd have a bike rack installed out front. Do you know how many bicycles fit into a car parking spot? We bicycle riders support people who support us. My public service announcement for T O D A Y !

It's almost One (pm) and I have not had my ONE cup of coffee yet.:blink:
Anyhow, I managed to get a four day weekend. I'm just sorta getting moving. Initially I cranked out several chores, then after I took a shower, I picked up a book, and haven't done much since. Quiet-down time is very important to me too. Sheeese, we were *pushing it* yesterday so we wouldn't have to work today. Actually all week....I came home around 6 ish and sat on the couch with the mail and I fell asleep, mail still in my hand and on my lap. I woke up an hour later and was so confused. I thought I was late for work, Couldn't remember why I was all dressed for work and sitting on the couch....(I ride a bicycle back and forth, I am not in office clothes until I get there....) It was bizarre....and then because I had severe confusion going on, I started to take items out of my purse. That made no sense to me, and I really didn't realize I did it until I came into the livingroom today and saw the unopened mail, my purse and half of the junk laying on the couch.....then I had an *ah ha* moment, recalling I fed the kat and went to bed with the radio to listen to the baseball game.......:tea: Thanks Scoote for the coffee. I'll slow down some.

Anyhow, I work for a woman attorney who is a work-a-holic. Even more than I am. She's freaking awesome and I love that *I* get to work for her. She has another big case on Tuesday (this reminds me of memorial day week end, now that I am thinking of it) and I told her I'd work either saturday or sunday ONE not both.....(monday is out, because it's baseball)
She hasn't signed on to her computer yet, I'm not sure if that is good or bad......:|

It's in between meal time.......what do you have to snack on? I'll eat dry ceral right out of the box......I don't require much. Anyhow, going bicycle riding. Put my SPF 30 on. I never seem to get here when anyone is here.

Started out looking like a nice day here, but now getting gray and looks like we might be in for more rain. I won't complain....it's been so dry that we were officially in a drought with water restrictions and the lawn was dying. So, come on rain! :)

Didn't manage to sleep in again today (no surprise....just wish I could), so up about 8, cleaned and adjusted the chemicals in the pool, made coffee and tea...and then, since the kettle was boiling made jello for Scoote and a pitcher of ice tea for later (I'm really trying to get off the soda).

Scoote ran off to a garage sale and work for something....and I made breakfast for Rooster and I....wish there was a brunch like this one around here to go to though *sigh*. I just love brunch buffets and leisurely weekend mornings....drinking too much coffee and grazing the buffet...talking with friends. For me, that's probably the perfect weekend morning.

I heard salt is good to rub on the gums of the sore tooth. Temporary.
And 4 advil is the same as one 800 mg motrin.

Toothaches suck.

I like hearing about odd things people eat for breakfast. One of my favorites is cold spaghetti.

As I mentioned several posts back, we have friends coming over for a bbq today. They are supplying all the foods and my honey is doing the bbqing. I will volunteer for the clean up which should be minimal since the foods were prepared at our guest's home. I know the food, the fun, and the laughter will be great.

Thinking I should take a nap before our guests arrive.....

This is the beauty of Jo's kitchen. If you get here first, you can make the coffee...or do more...in Jo's words, we're real casual. Jo provides visual aides.

And if you cook, someone else will usually offer to clean up.....I was eating cereal right out of the box the other day......hope that's NOT too casual.

As long as you don't eat all the marshmallow goodies out of the Lucky Charms and leave the rest, I am okay with it. :tease:

Rooster and I were up early today. His girlfriend came over to spend the day and, since her mom has to be to work about 7, we had to be up and dressed a bit early. Nice for them though....the girlfriend is leaving for a school trip to Australia for 3 weeks...and Rooster is leaving for a week in DC and then the rest of the summer with his father...so this is one of the last times they'll get to see each other until school resumes at the end of August.

So far they've shared breakfast, walked the dog around the block, had a little sword fight in the front yard (did I mention they're 13...lol)....and there may be swimming in the pool soon.
