Good morning everyone :)

It's the crack of dawn (well, before 7) and we're up because the Rooster's girlfriend is over again today. It's their last day to see each other for the summer since she heads out for a 3 week trip on Saturday and he goes for 5 weeks on Sunday. They're beyond cute, and make me smile a lot.

Scoote and I have decided to spend the day at Disney...Animal Kingdom to be exact...on Sunday after dropping Rooster at the airport. Just the two of us :love1: I'm looking forward to that. :stillheart:

Oh! Before I forget....I brought a little something for Zimmy and Andrea...

:giggle:

And, for those of us who can't live by marshmallows alone...

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :gimmehug:
I'm headed off for another cup of coffee....pots on!

:lips: to my :alarm: sweetie....

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you Jo Jo!!! I'm going to need the sugar rush! I was up until after 1am talking to a friend and had to be up early this morning! Today is moving day and I'm excited! Have fun at Disney on Sunday! We have the Zumba conference at work until Monday and they Zumba'd our minds lastnight.

Have a great day,

Zimmy

Jo, love the bowl of marshmallows. Makes me wish I was a kid again. I will take about 100 calories worth and place it in a reusable container for snack later.

I will also grab an egg, one bacon, a slice of toast, the strawberries and glass of juice for breakfast. Thank you so much for putting it out.

Clean up is on me this morning. I am in a deep cleaning mood so you best eat up and get out of the way. Back around noon to hunt for cobwebs.

So far we have no plans for the day (not that we don't have plenty to do). Zimmy, I will keep you in my thoughts for a smooth and easy move.

Good Evening Everyone,

Well, we didn't get to move today. The apartment complex didn't give us the keys to the new unit until after 5:30pm. So now, instead of spending the day with my oldest niece and nephew before they head home on Sunday, I will be waiting on the internet tech, carpet cleaner and the movers.

Have a great night, I lost my appetite for dinner.

How disappointing! :(

Zimmeh 07-07-2011 05:47 PM

Yes it was, but Matt and I treated ourselves to a large chocolate Frosty from Wendy's....The moving company will be here at 8am tomorrow morning. So no, 1am chats for me tonight...:(. I have fun laughing until 2am some mornings.

How are you doing tonight?

Quiet night here...made some chili and cheese biscuits for dinner...trying to get a little bit organized for Rooster's trip and just realized I need to go out tomorrow or first thing Saturday and get him a few more pairs of pants!

It sure is going to feel weird to have him gone for so long. :(

Zimmeh 07-07-2011 06:04 PM

(((Jo Jo)))),

Your dinner sounds yummy! We had Taco Bell for lunch and dinner. How is yoru mom doing?

JustJo 07-07-2011 06:06 PM

She's doing quite a bit better, thank you. :rrose: She's home, has more energy and is eating...although not gaining any weight yet. She said it still feels like 1/2 a sandwich and a small cup of soup is a huge meal....and she struggles to eat even that much, so it'll take some time.

Dominique 07-08-2011 05:45 AM

I've been up for hours. Alarm Kat doesn't allow anyone to ever sleep in.

I was at the gym already.

Coffee is on.

I paid my bills. A severe storm is on its way, good. Hope that will make it less humid.

I know I need to sell my race car. It's not really a race car, it's a four cylinder. It's a 2002 with 40k miles on it. I had a low profile kit installed on it and a few other modifications...my favorites would be the race car seats and the holley shifter. Anyhow.....I have no use for two cars. I really am not sure I need one. Friends have suggested I use craigs list. Have you ever read craigs list?

It's on my list of things to do today. At least get it posted. My new car has been sitting out and my old car (but it's the race car) has been sitting in the garage) there is seriously something wrong with the way my brain works sometimes.

Well, I think I'll shower and start my day. Thanks for the coffee, Oh and Zimmy, the last time I moved.....(about a dozen years ago) I swore I was never moving again) what an ordeal!

Happy Friday!

JustJo 07-08-2011 07:41 AM

The gym and home before 8 a.m.? :seeingstars: I'm impressed!

Good morning everyone :)

I'm getting kind of a slow start today...thank goodness it's Friday (and payday, yay!). Tons to do today...lots for work and then even more to ensure that Rooster is ready for his trip. I'm a bit nervous...I know he'll be fine and have a great time, but putting my almost 14 year old in the hands of strangers for a week is :|

Lucky kiddo though....he gets to stay in the dorms at Georgetown, get cool lectures designed for the program by university professors, go to Ford's Theater, the International Spy Museum, tour all the DC monuments (in the evening when they're all lit up), tour Capitol Hill (and potentially meet his state senator or representative...the program is great about setting that up). I wish I could go! :cheesy: We were looking at the schedule last night and they will be keeping him busy...breakfast from 7:15 to 8, then a day full of activity until 9 p.m., lights out by 10 or 10:30.

He gets a week of that...then off to his father in NY and some time to see his favorite Granny as well. I'll miss him, but I know it's good for him too. That'll be my mantra until he gets home in almost 6 weeks.

Hoping Zimmy's move goes well today and that you get all settled into your new place. :gimmehug:

And a great day, and happy Friday, to everyone....the weekend's almost here! :cheer:

Zimmeh 07-08-2011 08:03 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

The movers are here and they are doing a wonderful job! The apartment looks strange without any furniture in it.

Have a great day,

Zimmy

Andrea 07-08-2011 08:42 AM

You all sound like you are having busy, busy lives. Remember to take time for yourselves too.

We were supposed to take a road trip and visit my father-in-law but my honey had a hard time getting to sleep so won't be up until very late. Guess we will visit Dad tomorrow or next week. It isn't like he remembers our visit or us anyway. :(

Perhaps I should use the day to finally purge the file cabinet of three year old paid bills and such. For a going paperless world, I still have lots of it.

Made the switch to fat free creamer and am now thinking about giving coffee up entirely. It just isn't the same without the creamy creamer.

Sorry for the whining this morning. I seem to be down......

Andrea 07-09-2011 09:27 AM

Got the coffee going. Thank you for putting the instructions next to the pot regarding how much coffee grounds because my honey always prepares my coffee before going to bed so all I have to do is turn it on. (See I am spoiled statement below)

Looks like it is good cereal for breakfast since Zimmy isn't up to cooking and I haven't seen anyone else around.

Sorry for my whining yesterday. I have no idea what that was about. Even Rene kept his distance.

I think I have talked him into installing the ceiling fan in the spare room today. It has been in the box, just waiting, since before I moved here six years ago. It is time. LOL

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Tommi 07-09-2011 09:38 AM

Iced Coffeeeeeeeee

Good morning everyone here and there. I discovered I can give up my addiction to McDonald's Large iced sugar-free vanilla coffee--I am home brewing it.

I am now making my own, using fat-free milk, sugar free vanilla, and crushed ice. I make extra stong coffee, cool it in the pot with ice cubes, add crushed ice to a 32 oz. drive-thru drink container, add cooled coffee and sip away.

Ahhhhhhhh... and don't sit in line, and spend $2.79/day at MCDonald's.

Tommy.....Diva posted a great how to make cold coffee post *secret formula* I make it in decafe, I never had cold coffee before I read that post. You"ll have to ask the traveling D what thread that was in.......
(its a concentrate you make and it keeps for days!)

Andrea.....I laughed out loud when I read your post. I was sitting in a kayak on the river with dense fog over my head......well, i was floating, and using my phone to read the planet and post. I'd of killed for a real coffee. The morning kayak run was cancelled due to the fog, and now it, the fog, is humidity, and I am back inside my igloo wearing socks with a little blanket thrown over me. I love my a/c. I read Zimmy was doing bathroom surgery and removing one of her knees but was going to use a frosty to numb it first. I don't think she'll care much about the cereal today. Next time she wants to move, I'm going to remind her of this 15 hour ordeal. It's the reason I am never moving again. They will bury me in this house. (I bought it new so it would be possible for that to happen)
Were you whining? I must have been self absorbed or something, I didn't notice. Didn't put the car up for sale yet either. I don't know why I am so in love with that car. Please, it's not my mid life crisis car either. Never love anything that doesn't love you back. How's Jo doing? she had to send her son away for most of the summer.....is she doing retail therapy today? :tea: I always enjoy the coffee when I stop in here......catch you all later,

JoSchmooze 07-10-2011 11:12 AM

Sunday?

Is it really just Sunday? How come I have lost track of the day of the week?

Coffee is finished and I can't decide which to do - inside work or outside work...
So, perhaps breakfast first and then getting started...

:fastdraq::fastdraq::fastdraq:

Andrea 07-10-2011 11:52 AM

I am once again making my honey fried potatoes for breakfast. The problem is I play with the potatoes so much they don't brown. Rene would tell me I just need more practice. LOL

The weather here is going to be in the high 80s so I think it shouldn't be too hot to work on the yard next door. The property is in probate, and the out of area heir has had multiple surgeries recently, so no one is mowing the weeds. We have the keys so I am volunteering my honey to take care of it. Shhhh!! I haven't told him yet.

We had a man come to the screen door very late last night asking for something to eat. We live in a very poor neighborhood and see a lot of homeless people. This sort of thing reminds me how blessed Rene and I are and how grateful we are to be able to help someone like this gentleman. Rene made him a PBJ and he went on his way after thanking us. Part of me is sad that we couldn't do more.

Rejoice in your blessings today instead of what you don't have.....

Andrea

JustJo 07-10-2011 05:37 PM

Hi everyone :) and thanks for keeping the kitchen open and the coffee on!

We drove out to Orlando yesterday and stayed at a hotel so we wouldn't have to get up at 3 a.m. and drive 2 hours to catch a plane today. Rooster is in DC, officially set up in a dorm room at Georgetown and participating in his program. Only a brief conversation...but so far, so good.

Scoote and I spent the day at Animal Kingdom...walked for miles and spent a lot of time watching (and laughing at) a family of gibbons with a very mischevious baby...got soaked to the skin on Kali River Rapids...ate frozen pineapple (me) and a frozen banana dipped in chocolate and nuts (Scoote)...all in all a very nice day.

Now my feet hurt, I'm pooped...and I'm thinking it might be eggs and toast for dinner.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. :gimmehug:

Zimmeh 07-11-2011 07:51 PM

Good Evening Everyone,

Hope you all had a great day and a good start to your week. It has been insane since we moved last Friday and I have been up until midnight unpacking and then getting back up at 4am for work. How about some brownies for a late night snack tonight?:chocolate::eatinghersheybar:

Have a great night and I am off to bed..

Night,

Zimmy

Zimmeh 07-12-2011 08:06 AM

Good Morning Everyone,

I slept from 10:45p until 8am this morning...I am thinking, I was tired. Duckland has taking a lot out of me...:rubberducky:

How about some chocolate Cheerios mixed with honey nut Cheerios, toast, fresh fruit and juice this morning for breakfast? I mixed the chocolate and honey nut Cheerios for work the last few days, and it was really good.

Hope you all have a great day!

Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)

Traumatic day yesterday....reconciling myself with it today...and overall feeling the need of this...

http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/inns/...dbreakfast.jpg

Zimmy, glad to hear you're moved in....take some time to relax and treat yourself...that's exhausting!

I'm off to work (sorta)...and mostly glad that I have no conference calls today, so I can just work with "stuff" instead of people. Tomorrow is a different story with pretty much solid calls...

Hope you all have a great day. :gimmehug:

Zimmeh 07-12-2011 08:15 AM

Good Morning Jo Jo,

Hope today is a better day for you and how is Rooster enjoying DC? I am taking it easy, just trying to figure out what I want to do with all of this Princess House crystal that I found when I unpacked my stuff. I am thinking of maybe putting it up on Craigs list or Ebay. I have no room for it and my small curio cabinet can only hold my Swarovski crystal pieces..

Your breakfast looks delicious! I am thinking of grabbing a plate and then eating in bed...

Have a great day,

Zimmy

Good morning everyone! :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is ready and breakfast is too...

http://williamshouse.com/files/2010/...breakfast3.jpg

I've got a day of conference calls today (my poor ears), and am looking forward to this evening (when Scoote and I may head out to the movies). Hope you're able to relax some Zimmy....you've had a busy, busy time lately.

Anyone making early plans for the weekend yet?

After pulling the cats off the top of the fence (again) and filling the hole Grayson dug underneath it (again), I'm thinking that I'm just going to really hunker down and finish as much as I physically can of this yard project.

We're pounding in edging, laying down compost to improve the soil around the plantings along the fence, layering cardboard (to kill the grass and weeds and also make a discouraging "kitty digging" barrier for a little while anyway), then covering with a thick layer of mulch. The goal is to end up with a weed-free, maintenance-free, much prettier area along the edge of the yard...which will also improve the plants as well by composting and retaining some of the moisture with the mulch. We managed to do one corner so far, but it's hot and sweaty work for sure.

I've been speaking to Rooster every night while he's in DC. The conference is going well, but he's tired from the long days. When we spoke last night he was distracted by the laughing and talking that he was participating in with his group...so that's a good thing. He did say that he wanted more time in the museums then they got though...so we might be making a family trip back to do some more leisurely museum visits. :)

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

Andrea 07-13-2011 09:05 AM

Jo, those yard plans sound great and well thought out. I hear you on the cat issue. Rene either puts chicken wire around whatever he plants or, as in the recently planted blueberries, he has placed old fence boards around them (not the best of looks ) so the cats don't avail themselves of the enticing dirt.

I assisted my honey in working on the absent neighbor's yard for the last two days. My mature body is reminding me none to gently about the most recent lack of physical usage. LOL And we still aren't done.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast. I am starving.

Zimmeh 07-13-2011 11:06 AM

Good Afternoon Jo Jo,

I am sitting here enjoying a bologna sandwich with spicy mustard on wheat bread with a large glass of orange juice for lunch. Glad to hear Rooster is enjoying DC! Have you all been to Boston? I lived there for almost three months and I enjoyed every minute of it. Let me know when you all come back to Orlando. Matt, was going through his clothes and the items he didn't want, he is donating to the Salvation Army. While going through his stuff, he found a Star Wars Leather Jacket and was going to throw it away. I grabbed it and put it in my closet. If you think Rooster, would like it, he can have it. I am Fed Exing you a huge bottle of Lavender Bath Salts, so you can relax after those conference calls. Have fun at the movies tonight! Have you tried chicken wire at the bottom of the fence? My mom does this to keep her dogs from digging underneath the fence.

Have a great day,

Zimmy

Hi Zimmy :)

I've debated about the chicken wire....I know it's effective, but a lot of work to install. If this strategy doesn't work, it may have to be the next step!

You would be Rooster's hero with the Star Wars jacket....thank you!!!! And a long soak in lavendar bath salts sounds like heaven on earth... *sigh*

I have been to Boston and loved the museums there....Chicago too. I'm glad Rooster likes museums, because I sure do. And YES on the Orlando thing....I'm seriously contemplating a day at the Coronado's pool.....when is your day off?

Hugs,
Jo

Zimmeh 07-13-2011 11:59 AM

I have post orientation on Friday until 2pm. I will know tomorrow what my days off will be next week. I'll put the jacket on a hanger until you can puck it up. It is a size large.

It has Star Wars Episode 1 embroidered on the left front, and two patches on the sleeves. It is a brown color.

I keep a bottle of lavender body lotion on my desk at work.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Good Morning Everyone,

I am thinking of a healthy breakfast this morning. How about some Greek Yogurt, fresh fruit, whole wheat toast, juice and milk? :freetoaster::tea:

I have to work a mid shift today and I am looking forward to getting off tonight at 7pm. Then I have my post orientation tomorrow at 10am, which is all over time for me.

Have a great day,

HOWEVER- on mornings when she works, we split the coffeepot 20/80 (i'm the 80 lol) and since she is here it was 50/50 (BOOOO) so i'll have some of that please

Good morning everyone :)

Sounds like a healthy breakfast Zimmy, thank you! And let me know on days off....I'd love to lounge by the pool with an umbrella drink and visit. :) I'll show you how we crash the resorts. :giggle:

No one fights me for the coffee pot dark crystal, since I'm the only one in the house that drinks it *gloating face*....but I'll join you in a cup just the same.

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

Good Evening Everyone,

I am making homemade cupcakes with chocolate frosting and there is a bowl of tuna fish, with Krafy Mayo and Olive Oil, thyme and a pinch of fresh ground black pepper in the fridge for dinner!

Enjoy!
