My amazing son. He's so helpful to me and is such a great husband and father. Today he brought breakfast, fixed the computer, installed the new phone, took down the Christmas lights, took out the trash, then shared videos of my grandson's birthday party. On account of COVID we're having two parties one for those from out of town and another for those of us of us here later.
My son decided to buy my grandson a set of toy construction vehicles/equipment just like those he had growing up. The large almost but not quite big enough to ride size. They're older and not easy to find. Especially not brand new in their original packaging. So he had to buy them one piece here one piece there and it took him forever. He started collecting them when my grandson was just a few days old and finally got the last piece just a couple of days ago. They're those heavy duty metal construction ones that have the rubber like, not plastic tires. I'm not sure what happened to my son's set, only that is has something to do with my parents so I didn't press for details. Anyhow though he's on the outs with them now, he has a lot of good memories of him and his brother playing in the dirt with them in my parent's back yard while they were growing up. They only had a few pieces of the set when they were children but my son was able to put together the entire collection for his son. My grandson loves them and I'm so thankful because his dad spent so much money and put so much time and energy into putting together that set for him in time for his birthday it would have been heartbreaking if his reaction had been like it's been for some gifts he's gotten – Yeah whatever, what's next? Hurry up! Um I mean please hurry up. Now!!! |

Two more days until spring! I am so thankful for the season and the start of a new garden. I’ve been developing raised beds. I have over 20 of them now. Lots of trellises, wind chimes. I’ve got starts lined up in my enclosed front porch, ready to be put out so they can grow and stretch. I love this time of year where there’s so much anticipation and wonderment!

Thankful for this little furry guy in my lap. He absolutely loves me and has helped fill the hole in my heart since Skip died. He is running in his sleep right now. I feel his little feet on my leg. He is so different than Skip was. He is willing to please but a little hard headed. I miss having big dogs but as I've gotten older the smaller dogs are easier to handle physically and I never heard of a campground that said no mixed breed small dogs LOL. So I'm thankful for this little man he has brought me much comfort and joy

I am deeply thankful for my great great niece being born and surviving. Her momma is a troubled soul but is trying her best. My sister, the baby’s great great grandmother is raising this child and for that I am grateful as well.

That my ex husband and I, our sons and the boys step mother all went to counseling after the divorce. Not together but at around the same time. It took awhile to really put into full practice the things they recommended but one thing we did see the importance of and were able to get right away was that we shouldn't speak bad about each other in front of the children. Lol out of ear shot we did plenty of speaking bad about each other to each other but at least stupid as we were back then we had enough sense to see the smarts in what they were saying and didn't speak bad about each other in front of the children. Which I think is one of the main reasons today we all have good relationships with our children, and to a certain extent even with each other. I'm thankful we all got some therapy.

Online Shopping
Jeff Bezos, by way of Amazon (a company he started in his garage), has changed the game with online shopping … and I’m here for it.
Amazon has set the standard for buying and returning items online. What a difference this has made for so many. Thank you, Amazon. PS: Bruno and I used to talk shit about people who were always returning items to Amazon (thinking of a lovely niece of mine who spends lots of time at the USP store). I’m sure we’ll take up where we left off when he returns. :playingcat: |
