That's the one. He sure does a great job of selling it, and Brittany loves it, especially with warm water. But you're right, it's just too expensive.

Thanks for the reminder about changing it gradually. I had forgotten!

Monte had to get his kitty leukemia today but he was a really good about it. When he first came to live with me there would be a lot of yowling all the way to the vet, through much of the visit then all the way back. Today, other than for a little bit when buckling him in for his ride to he was quiet. On the way back he didn't fuss getting in. He didn't even make any noise while getting his shot.

Today I learned they no longer clip nails at the vet. I thought that was weird but since the place they referred me to is the one I already had in mind, that was reassuring. I wouldn't make an appointment with the vet just to have his nails done, pretty spendy for just that but as long as I was going to be there anyway or at least that's how it used to be.

Anyhow he's slept a bit more than usual, hasn't eaten as much but still had some, a little to sip too and been extra snugly, cuddly all day. So doesn't seem to feeling any ill will, harboring any resentments. Well enjoy it while you can Monte. Thursday is walk in day at the paw spa nail salon where now I'm told they're also doing ears. Oh won't you be delighted.

New Toy!

This is Brittany checking out her new snuffle ball. I load it with treats in between the folds, then she finds them!

I'd never heard of a snuffle ball before. Since I have all these fabric scraps and won't need as many for cat size, or at least not sample cat size, I think I'll give it a try. Monte had been scarfing down treats so quickly I bought one of those puzzle dishes but it didn't take him any real time at all to figure that one out. He's just digging and flinging them out there like a miner who thinks he might spot gold. It doesn't look too difficult but backup plan – if I can't figure it out they're all over Etsy and it's not like I have to put a whole lot of thought and effort into it. I mean it's a cat toy not picking out a wedding band. Thanks for the idea!

Molly

We adopted a new pup last week... She's Boxer-Pitbull mixed breed and she has a brindle coat. We call her Molly.

Molly is full of love and so adorable. She is a good girl and she stays near me by either resting her head on my lap or on top of my feet. She is dear to our hearts. :stillheart:

She's so cute and her brindle markings are beautiful! She looks a lot like Brittany, but younger. How old is she?

Good for you for adopting!

For thread compliance - Brittany played with her snuffle ball today, and she had half a banana as a snack. She spent most of the day resting at my feet, and alerting to the dog barking across the street whenever she went outside.

Thanks Georgia ☺️

Molly is almost 5 months old. She was so tiny when she was born, but she is getting bigger every day. Molly is about 45 pounds… and when she gets up on her two back legs, she stretches up and out to my upper thigh area. She is still small yet, but she will grow more.

My one dog I had for 17 years was adopted. We got her from the Humane society and they didn't let her old owners have her back because she ran away a second time...anyhow dogs are so amusing to watch. My adopted dog Trudy and my bratty rat terrier one day were in backyard jumping up in the air trying to get this blimp flying over. We live near a local airport. Those dog are lucky you are in their lives and I believe things happen for a reason... A friend of mine had a brindle boxer /pit mix and that dog was something else she would climb high chainlink in corner so they had to fix that. Her name was Cheyenne. Reminds me time I was petting her and her tail and whole back end was wagging....lol

Yes, I believe Molly will grow much more, she'll be a lot bigger than Brittany. B is 57 pounds and full grown. When I saw the picture of Molly, I knew she'd be growing into those big paws!

Today, Brittany was as solid as a rock through our big thunderstorm. She stayed nearby but she didn't panic or bark or exhibit any nervous tics, except a little heavy mouth breathing at the very beginning of the storm. She's such a laid back dog!

Yes, that is so true!! Molly’s paws are B I G. Lol. I’ve got scratches on my hands and a Nick from her nails on my thigh.

It is truly a privilege to have her here at home.

Molly is definitely an indoor dog. Not that she does like being outdoors because she loves being outside, but she likes being inside. She gets cold easily.

Thanks for sharing about your dog Brittany, Georgia. 👍

New kitty Holly, escaped once again last week. I had neighbors report sightings. We tried to catch her. She just wasn't having it. I had to use a trap to save her from the cold. Well after catching a raccoon one night, finally lured her into a screened in porch.

I put my Mom's bedroom door back up so that Holly could be contained as my Mom went in and out to do laundry. Let's just say I'm not a carpenter. Especially when I use a lone screwdriver.

It's safe to say, Jellybean and Holly are starting to see eye to eye
Lol

My Danger Duo

Gracie has taken to charging me as I'm walking towards my computer. The two cat trees are set up next to the computer and she'll dash in front of me and zip up the tree. She gets up there lickity split but man, she cuts it so close, it's a game of chicken and I usually wind up hesitating so I don't squash her. Not a big deal usually but when I have a big plate of food in my hands, I wind up doing some sort of do-si-do dance to avoid her.

Loki has taken to trying to herd me when I'm making my breakfast (and thus, theirs as well). The knucklehead has gotten stepped on before doing this because he sneaks up directly behind me or to one side, not making a sound, and I go to move around the kitchen and wind up with a paw under my slipper. If I get him good, he gives me a wind berth for, maybe, an hour and then he's right back up underneath my feet. I can't tell if he's just very forgiving or has a goldfish's memory.

Brittany actually played with her ball today! She has never done that before. She would throw it up in the air and then smoosh it with her front paws.

When I first got her, I just thought she was getting used to us, and then I thought she was just incredibly chill. I'm realizing now that she just felt very bad from the giardia and heartworms. Thank Goddess she is much better now and is becoming more and more happy.

They went for a ride. One took 2 hours to load and that was after alot of carrots, promises and cajoling. The others who were left behind for 7 hours in the house did a darn good and did not make me get on the paper towel patrol.

"Oh Joy!" - I baked a half ham today, and spent tonight trimming it off the bone to package up and put in the freezer. So you know that means Miss You-Know-Who was all up in my business. Of course, she did get plenty of mini treats of ham. As did I.

Brittany likes celery. Surprised me! I mean, I barely like celery, but I got some for the potassium. She won't go near a carrot, but celery . . . she plays with it first, then eats it.

Brittany is alternately sleeping with a full belly, and getting up to come check on me and get some loves. When I came home, she was loving all over me and jumping up and down in excitement. She is so wonderful to come home to! We are really bonding, and I can tell she missed me. Also, the boy told me she barely ate anything while I was gone. I fed her and she ate everything like she was starving; I also gave her a little bit of egg drop soup on her kibble (a Very Special Treat that she loves) and a bunch of treats in her snuffle ball. She found one of my dirty socks when I was gone and she had it in her bed. I will probably let her keep it.

Woke me up and ordered breakfast. Then went immediatly straight back to bed. I'm working on trying to get him to start demanding breakfast a little bit later in the day. Yeah well dream on.
