That's exactly how I felt, especially when I unloaded my large Coleman cooler and big red wagon that I used to move things from the truck to the front door so I didn't have to make multiple trips. Today was even more of an accomplishment because I haven't felt like doing much due to my bad health.
And an extra treat was the slight rain made the fall leaves absolutely beautiful for my trip.

[I]Other than mucking out the stalls, dropping hay and readying for the night feeding it has been phone work/computer work. I called to have an appliance repair on the stackable washer. The washer door boot has a huge rip in it so it means water everywhere after a wash. Duct tape is NOT doing it. I was shocked but happy to be informed we bought the warrenty when we got the set so it will be a free repair. Then I wrote Silver Singles who I recently joined. I contacted them about a scammer who sent me a message. Some asshole sent me a message that said 'was your dad a king because I was such a PRINCESS' WTH...dude did you look at my picture or were you just trying to enrage me?! Being old and I think single is sucking. [I]

Kenna 11-17-2022 07:59 PM

Took my puppy to get spayed. They upset me bad after informing me they needed to keep her over night. They couldn't tell me this days ago when it was arranged?

GeorgiaMa'am 11-17-2022 08:24 PM

- cleaned the kitchen
- did some laundry
- mixed up a batch of pork spice rub
- computer stuff

I kept my tree up, fully decorated, for 2-3 years one time. It was a white tree so I had to dust it to keep it not looking dirty but it made for the prettiest white, twinkly night light.

Toolio 12-12-2022 06:26 PM

I found these battery operated gumdrop light but I had to figure out a way to display next to chocolate walkway I made that leads up to blowmold gingerbread house. So I decided to cut that none smooth styrofoam block into strips just deep enough to hold lights....but I used this round hard tube to make holes in foam just big enough to shove light base thru when bulb part was off.....

I woke up this morning and decided I was going to tackle my Comcast/Infinity problem. The Roku is ok but I am set in my ways and miss my normal TV routine. After about an hour of pure frustration and anger I ended up with associate Scott and he should be cloned. He was extremely personable and I think family, had worked for Comcast for 24 years and was extremely knowledgable. I had my TV back up and running shortly and did not need to replace my TV box. I told him I don't kiss boys but if he were in my living room he would get one!

From there it was off to the stalls to feed and then muck and clean. I thought they would be much worse then they were because they went in early yesterday.

After that I decided the truck needs winter tires so I went to a local tire shop and bought four new winter and studded tires.

On the way home I stopped and bought cracked corn for the horses, a new Carhartt vest for me and 2 bales of shavings.

When I got home I had to figure out water for the horses. The hose line had frozen (I will deal with that later) but their buckets needed filled for tonight.
I ended up loading buckets into the back of my truck, filling them in the truck and then driving down to the barn. Other then having soaking wet coat and pants (in 30 degree weather) by the time I got done, the stall buckets were full and I should be covered for tomorrow night also. As the horses were supposed to be at their new facilities by now, I never bought a new trough and will now have to do this a few more times before I am in the clear.

I stopped on the way to the house and cut a little more wood for tonights fire which is now all aflame and bumping up the room temp about 10 degrees.

nhplowboi 12-22-2022 08:11 PM

Some minor storm prep:

Got the woodstove cleaned out and set up a fire to go but may wait until tomorrow night to light it. It is comfortable right now and the temp is supposed to go up into the 50's tomorrow. It will be good to go when the bottom drops out tomorrow night.

A little extra wood got brought in to dry out in case the wood stove becomes my only source of heat.

The bathtub was filled for toilet flushing in case the power goes out.

Layed a rope line down the hill to the barn in case it ices up as bad as they say it might.

Dropped extra hay to the stalls so I won't be dealing with it the next few days.

Took the plow truck down to the boys and they topped off the reservoir. The plow has a piston leak and it had run so low I could barely get the plow to move. I did make an appointment for service at the Fisher dealership but they can't get to it until 01/04/23.

Relocated a couple buckets of salted sand for easy access in case they are going to be needed. Depending on how this storm rolls out I may have to go to the town garage tomorrow and pick up more.

Brought my battery jump-pack into the house so it can charge up. It is handy to charge other things like a cell phone or computer and all of those things are also charging right now.

GeorgiaMa'am 12-25-2022 03:42 PM

We have lounged around for most of the day. I did fill stockings and put some presents under the tree. I thought about unloading and loading the dishwasher, but . . . no.

Toolio 12-28-2022 06:45 PM

The boi and I got our Covid-19 booster shots, and I got a shingles vaccine.

GeorgiaMa'am 03-12-2023 11:44 PM

I cleaned out the refrigerator AND the freezer. I found a few treasures, too - a pack of beautiful NY strip steaks, some homemade chicken broth, and a ham bone. I also have baby butter beans to cook with the ham bone. I'll be having those in the next few days! Fortunately, I didn't have very much waste to throw out - I hate wasting food because I forgot it was in the freezer for too long!

FireSignFemme 03-13-2023 02:22 AM

I made white beans and leeks from scratch. Turned out horrible and it was a lot of hard work. My grandmother made it look effortless. Well I guess in a world with no fast food and a whole bunch of mouths to feed this would be a simple recipe, a very simple one. Yet still I botched it. I don't have her recipe she never used them. She didn't use measuring cups, spoons, scales, timers, meat thermometers or anything like that either. So to learn how to make it the way she did she'd have to be here to show me. Well I won't give up. I can see how it would be better if next time I did this or didn't do that so live and learn. I'll just have to keep at it till I get it right. She wouldn't want me to quit and hey at least I didn't burn it, that's off to a pretty good start right?

Gemme 03-30-2023 03:05 PM

I have succeeding in wasting my day off by running work errands and then zoning out watching Ink Master. I need to get my tush in gear so I can actually accomplish something on my to do list other than pay bills.

It was a very very busy day in the garden. It was a very cool but sunny 72° weather in northeast Ohio. So I took advantage of it. I had two of my garden helpers come out. One welded, sanded and painted a gorgeous vintage metal round Picnic table set. I’ve had it for years and been waiting to have this done and finally it got accomplished today!
And then myself, and my other helper put together nine raised beds. Then lined them with weed fabric. Once in the ground, we raised cattle panels and turn them into trellises between the beds. This was an incredible amount of work and I swear I am done buying raised beds!

GeorgiaMa'am 05-22-2023 08:01 PM

- art
- cleaned the kitchen (somewhat)
