Checked Arwen's Tarotscope and wanted to say hi to everyone in here before I log out for the week. I always mean to get to work and not keep checking in here but usually don't make it all week. So much to do this month I'm going to have to hide this laptop. Have a great week and stay safe.

clay 01-27-2013 12:25 PM

Flying the Nest

Momma can't sleep tonight. My son stayed with me for 6 months to complete a college course. He has passed the course, and is moving to Osoyoos, B.C. tomorrow. Some may say
"lucky mom" for him flying the nest, but he is my baby boy and I will miss him. I guess visiting in the summer will occur A LOT. lol

Rockinonahigh 01-30-2013 01:05 PM

I want reasonable weather back, yesterday it was 70* today it's in the 50's windy as hell not to mention the storms that went thrue hear last night....did someone say climate change???
Fever I do know how you feel, when my son left for the Army at 18 I really had to buck up and stay calm cause this was my babay boy going off to who knows what courteously of out gaoverment. The service was his life long dream so I was proud of him for his service then was really glad when he came home.My friend giveing them theire wing to fly is hard but a nessary thing to do for them to be all they can be,beleave me they know where home is.

WintergreenGem 01-30-2013 05:14 PM

Posting in for a short visit. Sorry I haven't been around much at all. Every since my one friend went in for cancer surgery and I found another friend has been in the hospital for a month (with no one knowing) for brain cancer I have been kind of distant. My frame of mind is thinking, thinking, thinking and worrying. I am not great company unless I am at work.

I want you all to know I am thinking of you and hoping life is treating you all as well as can be. Things are going good for me and are in the works for change once again. More on that at another date. Because of this change I may not be able to connect with this site any longer due to the IP. I'm saddened by this, but the change is good.

I miss chatting and playing with you all. I tried to go to chat, but all I get is a blank white screen. I'll try again later.

Take care...Gem

JUST CHECKING IN FROM OZ

Hi everyone, from a lovely sunny summer's day in South Coast NSW. I've been on leave for the past two weeks, on a cruise to New Zealand, which was excellent, despite the really rough weather from the Queensland cyclone and high sea swells getting there and coming back. But now I'm back in Australia and enjoying the last few weeks of our summer, and getting my mind in place to go back to work on Monday. Hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for the great conversations that I really enjoy checking in on. I feel I know some of you just from your posts, and I really enjoy your company!:tanning:

Galahad 02-10-2013 01:41 PM

I've been thinking of all of you in the east and midwest. I hope you're safe and warm. Have a great week everyone. I'm down with a bug, lucky it's a long holiday weekend.

Hi everyone! I can not begin to tell you how busy I am and how much I suck as a lofter. Sorry for my hit and miss posting. I will share the following. I am 6 weeks from the completion of a new skill set that is going to allow me to make money, have a lot of freedom and possibly change our lives. :-). I can't wait to be able to say exactly what it is.

oksoftbutch 02-10-2013 05:31 PM

Cool....good luck on the best possible finish.... :hangloose:

Hi all!

Just popping in to see how y'all are doing!

As some of you know it was my birthday last week - - turned the big 50.
Let me tell you, being 50 sucks! lol
Honestly - being 50 isn't bad but getting super sick on my birthday sucked! It started as just a little tickle in my throat and within a few hours I was sicker than a dog. Laid up for almost a week. Went to school today and fell asleep during lecture! yikes!
so - I'm on the mend but it seems to take longer than it used to.

Enough about me! What is everyone up to? Anything interesting going on?

lusciouskiwi 02-12-2013 08:31 PM

Morning everyone! Have been by in a while - distracted by facebook!

:jester: i'll be 58 on April 8 ... just walked away from the longest relationship of my life..9.5 years... and i'll tell the truth... i'm scared to death..i've walked,run,crawled,mambo-ed and slip-slided away from all kinds of lovers in the past.. but at this age..i suddenly feel the pressure of time that i never felt before...like i don't have time to waste now in a relationship that doesn't work out.. i'm pissed about this last one because i surely didn't have 9.5 years to waste.. i never thought in these terms when i was younger..even in my 40s i felt like i had all the time in the world to find the right woman.. and i have no idea of how to even begin finding that woman now..my flirting/dating skills were largely invisible at the best of times...now i'm just standing here going.." ummm..hello?"..one thing i do know... i'm really looking forward to going out with women around my own age .. my ex is 21 years younger than i am..it wasn't a problem at the beginning..but by the end i think the pretty vast difference had taken it's toll... now all i have to do is get up the nerve to talk to some fabulous 40,50,60-something femmes...anybody want to help me i surely won't object..have a fabulous day everyone

and welcome NickE to the loft, sorry to read you are going thru this... i'm sure a lot of us here understand completely how you feel about being our age , single and time.
I for one do not want to grow old alone... as well its nice to have someone there that you can be completely on the same page with with love, hobbies, desires, etc.. well you know what i mean.
:)

I think we should all pack our bags and go bunk in over at Clays for a week or 2... maybe 3 .. lol and enjoy the beachs sunshine, well when it warms back up...

NickE, I can sympathize. I just got out of a relationship too. It wasn't as long as yours, but I was really taken by surprise and truly thought this was my "forever" one. I was single for 9 years before that, and so I really feel the same time pressure that you're feeling. I don't want to waste any more time either. And I feel pretty clueless, too! So don't feel like you're all alone in this. There's at least one more in the same boat with you. :)

Good morning lofty ones. I'm finally over bout 2 of the cold. The Dr. told me I could expect to get it up to 3 times this year. I hope not. It's good to see new faces and the old ones here. I hope the weather next week is easier on all of you. Stay Well and happy.
