the vintage trailer park? we mean to go and it's about 2 hours from us, but we haven't been... that's a great trip! you'll have to stop by, you'll be so near--depending on the time of year, you'll need some iced tea!! and 4 dogs because *june* said she'd be interested in watching them for the summer! no, really she did! |

I'd love one kind of like this. The old ones are full of beautiful wood, etc. I'd park it somehere and stay in it for vacations :) |

Yes, I've been wanting to go to Shady Oaks for years...but it's so far south. It's so close to you! You could make it a weekend trip! We are leaving July 2nd. The heat may kill me. And yes! 7 dogs in June and Kat's house sounds like a circus. Wilbur might burn out his vocal chords :| |

I would just about murder to have this one:
http://rrvintagetrailers.com/images/DSCN1642.JPG http://rrvintagetrailers.com/images/DSCN1649.JPG I used to always say that I would get one of these, so that I could live pretty much anywhere in Canada that I wanted and if I got bored of an area I could move on with little difficulty. I recently told Nick about that old dream of mine and he was a little bit mortified. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( |
i share you're dream--you're not alone!
LOVE that old wood framed screen door. ...hold it right there, missy. ummmm, i thought you said that was a dream of yours, not your shady trailer past...? |
I have to say I hadn't even thought of such things before this evening. But truth be told I am now enamoured of the pretty tin trailers!
I want one with vintage pink or blue and a martini bar! Here's a great link! http://vintagetrailercrazy.com/ |

All that you'd need to do is replace the white appliances with blue. Perfection. |

Heck TD that's as big as some of the one bedroom apartments I've lived in. If you park it, someone may just be moved in when you go back to vacation in it. |

Very Cool Thread!
I recently saw a show on the History Channel dedicated to trailers -with emphasis on the Teardrops. They are so darn cute and adorable! Now that I'm retired, buying a minivan or small trailer has been entering my thoughts. I would really like that, but seeing I am alone, I'm too chicken to travel by myself. Had I a 'partner-in-crime' with an adventuresome spirit, I'd be on the road like a shot!!
Happy trail(er)s, everyone! Enjoy the ride, and share your adventures on this thread. I'm sure those of us who can only dream of such things, would love to hear your stories. |

Wow! There's been an abandoned little vintage teardrop trailer on my neighbor's land. It sort of looks like the one in the first pic. I think I'll go over there and ask to buy it. Thanks folks!

I had a 69 alladin 16 footer. I paid $600 for her. I named her Wilma before
I bought her due to her very ample protruding hind end region.(storage for days) I gazed at her longinly for frickin months. Her interior was original and damn near perfect. The paneling had intricate little alladin lamp shapes carved into it in. It had an avocado fridge and stove, white old school formica counters and table.Dark greenish upholstery and some kinda grandma curtains. She could sleep 6,3 comfortably. Zero toilet was her only defect. In fact, there was no bathroom at all. She was a big boneded girl and quite heavy however and we burnt up my ex's blazer's transmission with her on the first trip. I had to get a serious running start down many a long hill to be able to limp into the campground. Loved her and miss her dearly! Cant find a picture of that year sadly. She was similar to 65 only with a big curvy front and back. http://www.tininntraveltrailers.com/...ge/2698528.htm love them hope you find a good deal oops posted wrong link the 65 is on this page http://for-sale.yakaz.com/vintage-travel-trailer-photos |
