Message In A Bottle

Thought I'd bring an oldie over to the Planet because someone said they liked it before. Honestly, I haven't thought much about anything lately, so perhaps a few messages might just do the trick.

This is how it works; if you put a message in a bottle and hoped for someone to find it, what would you write. You can write as many messages as you want because the bottles here are endless.

I'll start by writing the first message......reality is make believe turned inside out. I'm rolling up my message, grabbing a bottle, tossing my message inside and then I'll put a cork in it.

Throwing it out to sea to drift in the salty waters.

sweetfemme247 05-25-2010 09:17 PM

very nice thread I think I will use it some.

Singling out the weak is remarkably unattractive.

WolfyOne 05-25-2010 09:26 PM

One more message in a bottle for tonight
I'll roll this one tight to drop it in because it's a little long

Sometimes the road we travel is full of cracks or potholes and then the road gets smoother due to repairs.
As the road begins to open up again, the smooth ride makes you realize that potholes and cracks can always be repaired in time.
Now it's time to let the windows down and let the wind blow through your hair.
Not a care in the world while on that smooth road because you won't have to worry about hitting a pothole or a crack.

Here's hoping someone that needs this will find it.

Message in a bottle:

Not everything, nor everyone is what it/they seem. Learn to recognize people are flawed. They are no better, nor worse than you. Everyone, no matter gender, religion, sexuality, handicap, is equal and must be treated as such.

Treat as if you would be treated.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Wolfy}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Thank you! I loved this thread!

Woohoooo! *wiggles into chair and gets comfy; unrolls parchment, dips pen into ink*

*thinks a moment, then begins to write*

here I am on an island again
with teal-green ink I dip my pen
message to you from where I am
please send me butter, biscuits and jam

*gently pours a little sand on the letter to dry it*

*rolls up parchment, tucks it into pretty bottle*

*pops a cork into the bottle, carries bottle to the edge of the beach, tosses it out onto the waves*

*settles back, grinning, to wait for an answer*

I wrote this once,so im stufing it in this bottle in hopes someone will find it:

Trails of the Lone Wolf:
Today I will rest from the heat of the day..will you come to me in my dreams while I sleep?I hear you heart beat far away in the night, feel your energy in my soul and all of my being.I travel the long night in hopes of finaly finding you in my serch. Each night I cry at the moon in hopes of your reply...but no matter how far I travel I will keep serching ,for one day I know our hearts will beat as one.

Message In A Bottle

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. From now on, you'll be treading the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow your self to make the journey"

So, when you find this message, just know you are always welcome to call me or show up with a bottle of Vodka and fresh limes and we'll work everything out, k?*

It's not what you say
that makes the difference in my life,
But your caring thoughts
in everything that you do,
and the quality person that you are.
You have been so kind to be there for my troubles,
and to share in my life's happiness.
My respect and admiration for our friendship is magnified
by your generosity and wonderful abundance of
laughter, support, patience, and love.
These are the things you do and how you feel
when you sincerely want the best
for someone dear to your heart.
We have become good forgivers and loving friends
and I'm thankful for that every day.
The friendship we share is a cornerstone of my life,
and if our past experiences have any bearing on the future,
then we are truly fortunate because we have a loving friendship
that is Timeless.

With all of your wonderful qualities
encourage me to become a better person
and I want to share the rest
of my life with you.
~ Timeless

Taking out some pale yellow writing paper and a purple pen

"Dear P,
You know where to find me, if You ever want to find me again.
love, always.
rhonda"

Rolling the note up and putting it in a bottle, along with some purple glitter and a copy of the poem she wrote for me. Pushing the cork in and sealing it with a bit of melted purple wax.

Standing quietly at the edge of the ocean, listening with my eyes closed.

Tossing the bottle into the water...watching it as it floats.... buoyed by the gentle waves...

My message in this morning's bottle: The thing about hopes, dreams and prayers is that they can be answered even when they're not.

Kenna 05-26-2010 09:02 AM

placed in my favorite cobalt blue glass bottle....

When the door of happiness closes,
another opens, but often times we look so
long at the closed door that we don’t see
the one which had been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind you
can sit on a porch and swing with,
never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best
conversation you’ve ever had.

Don’t go for looks; they can deceive.
Don’t go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile because it
takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Find someone that makes your heart smile.

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone,
an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone,
but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

The happiest of people don’t necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that
comes along their way.

There's a bit of a story to go with this one...

Don't assume people can't hear or see you. Sometimes, looks or words can cut to the bone.

Earlier tonight, MBE and I went out to eat at Olive Garden. So, we sat down and two men and a woman sat down behind us. Obviously, being trans and in the midwest, I keep an eye out for...potentially dangerous situations. Huh, I noticed one alright.

One of the guys slid his chair out away from the table, in the aisle, to turn to look at me. Being deaf, I couldn't hear the conversation but I could only imagine.

MBE told me what was said. Apparently the three were discussing whether I was male or female. One "gentleman" said he couldn't tell and he had on his glasses. At this time was when the other man turned to look. I usually meet all stares with a gaze back. He noticed and turned away instantly.

At this time, I didn't know yet what they had been discussing but I suspected from the man's reaction that they had been discussing me.

MBE confirmed that when she asked me if they were looking at me.

Well, this went on and on until MBE turned around and went off on them.

As some might know, and Wolfy might remember, I have bad social anxiety, so my anxiety is going through the roof so MBE takes a look at me and asks me if I need to go. I nod and bolt.

The waitress came back and asked her if I was ok. MBE made sure she was in earshot of the 3 people and told her no I wasn't ok and what had happened.

Waitress was appalled.

MBE came out and raged more understandably.

So, that's my final message for the night.

Since I took Astronomy in 1996, the theories have apparently changed. They used to think that we were all spreading out following the big bang, but eventually the Universe would collapse again in another big bang. Now they have figured out that instead of slowing down, the the spreading out of the Universe is speeding up. Meaning that the Universe is becoming a colder and lonelier place, or so they say. There is no longer evidence of a future collapse, another big bang. I guess Ice is nice and will suffice after all.

*sees bottle floating back in* :cheesy:

*pulls it out of the water, wipes it dry, pops the cork*

*pulls second note from bottle, settles in to read* *eyebrow waggle*

"The biscuits are stale
And the butter is rancid
Haven't got jam
But at least I answered."

*re-rolls original note, re-corks bottle, takes it back to the beach and tosses it in again*

*settles back to wait* :cheesy:

*I was adrift for what seemed to be a lifetime, when I remembered
the song by Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle - and you know the lyrics?
if I had a box just for wishes and dreams that never came true; the box would be empty, except for the memory of how they were answered by you?
The words in this song have helped me so much when I felt like painful life experiences were closing in on me. It's true, the friendship we share is my saving grace.

Thanks for being you, ~ ALK*

Wherever you are

For my soulmate.
Who holds the key to my heart & soul.
On the scrole it reads.

I love to see the ocean's beauty
And the moon that shines above
Alone in the sand lookin at the stars
Wishing someday I would find true love

Wouldn't be nice to see the morning
With the one you love the most
Wouldn't be nice to say goodnight
To the one you hold so close
To your heart, to your heart...

The wind that blows the dove
Is the wind that blows my love
Hoping to find its way to you
Wherever you are

I love to sit in fields of green
Looking deeply thru the sky
Watching birds as they flap by
Hoping someday faith will bring me true love

Wouldn't be nice to hold someone
So dear, n near your heart
Wouldn't be nice to hear those words
I love you, from the one
That you love

The wind that blows the dove
Is the wind that blows my love
Hoping to find its way to you
Wherever you are

I love to see myself one day
In the arms of someone
Who will share her life with me
Selflessly, someday you will find your way,
To me . . .

The wind that blows the dove
Is the wind that blows my love
Hoping to find its way to you
Wherever you are

As I seal it with a kiss
And toss it in the water
Only for you to find.
That you may return home
And we will feel true loves embrace.

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are the things that we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman,

"O me, O life, O the questions of these recurring. O the endless trains of the faithless, O cities filled with the foolish. What good amid these, O me, O life?

The answer? That life exists and identity. The powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse."

what would your verse be?
