How Many Planeteers Does it Take to Derail a Thread?

How Many Planeteers Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb?

:brightbulb:

1
to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been
changed
:formalbow:

14
to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how
the light bulb could have been changed differently

:fyi:

7
to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

:shocking:

1
to move it to the Lighting section

2
to argue then move it to the Electricals s
ection
:slapfight:

7
to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5
to flame the spell checkers

:threadjack:

3
to correct spelling/grammar flames

:bully:

6
to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"

... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
:argue:

2
industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term
is "lamp"

15
know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry,
and that "light
bulb" is perfectly correct
:eyebrow:

19
to post that this forum is not about light bulbs
and to please
take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
:coffee:

11
to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light

bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

:mob:

36
to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior,
where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs
work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

((~~~yep, the Smiley limits kinda suck right now 8^| ~~~))

7
to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4
to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

:darthsmiley:

3
to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant
to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13
to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety
including
all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
:weedsmoke:

5
to post to the group that they will no longer post because
they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy
:overreaction:

4
to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

:|

13
to say
"do a Google search on light bulbs before posting
questions about light bulbs"

1
forum lurker to respond to the original
post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Oh, Day! I love this! Kudos!!!

Just one! With or without intention...

Selenay 06-17-2010 09:21 PM

It only takes one person to change a light bulb,
(but the light bulb has to really want to change.)

suebee 06-17-2010 09:22 PM

Let me guess: all your farms are planted and you've just recently changed their design, factories in full production, gifts collected, sent and used, superpokes fed, tickled, washed and their habitats decorated, crows fed and in bed, tunes played, posted and played again, writing finished for the day, Mrs. Day's at work, the supper dishes done and Sampson and Delilah fed and purring beside you. So's all you had left to do was invent another one of your famous threads. :canadian:

Da :floatbee: loves it! ;)

Gemme 06-17-2010 09:28 PM

Just one, but if it's a Gemini, there are about 154 voices inside their head telling them how they can do it.

Gayla 06-17-2010 09:35 PM

I know the correct answer.

But ALL of you have made it clear that you have no desire to listen to reason so...

/flounce

Linus 06-17-2010 09:40 PM

You forgot one: 142 ask the Tech Geek to change the light bulb for them. :canadian:

WolfyOne 06-17-2010 09:43 PM

:praying: my eyes sight comes back from all this
The light bulb was too bright

Too funny Day,:superfunny: thanks you shed light on the topic for me . I am now enlightened and wonder how the poor light bulbs feel? If they like to be referred by their watts or their volts? what the expression "a bright light and the end of the tunnel" really means to them? anyone care to share any more light for me, be it frosted or clear?

amiyesiam 06-17-2010 11:07 PM

and 14 who will want to debate the superiority of candle lights

10 who miss the good ol days of gas lights

4 who will talk about the days before light bulbs

16 who want everyone to use the new energy saver bulbs

plus

there will be at least 20 who must send pm's to every one who disagrees with their own personal light bulbs theories

and there must be at least 2 who try to figure out the light bulbs gender id

really Diva
how much time have you spent observing light bulbs in their boxes?
snort
lol

adorable 06-17-2010 11:46 PM

Ugh! Seriously!!!!

Why does everyone want to CHANGE the bulb?? Why can't the bulb just be how it is and that be ok? Just because we're not a bulb in the same way doesn't mean that bulbs can't be here too. There is enough room in this community for all bulbs, red, green, purple, orange, frosted, 3-way, flood and even burnouts.

I personally am tired of bulbs being expected to change just so that everyone else can see the light and feel comfortable.

Random 06-17-2010 11:52 PM

1000157217821 to form a committy to discuse if light bulbs really even exist and if they do, then do we really need them...

I think this is really silencing. What about those light bulbs that aren't really sure if they want to change or not. Maybe they are what they started out as but then decided that change is good. Who are we to say that burnout really isn't just a 3-way taking a break. I mean, is it really our call?

Ok look. Coming from my me place, I know that I have struggled for a place to shine in my own way. Some bulbs feel burned on the INSIDE. Not everyone WANTS to be a sparkly red or blue. And I think you have actually proven my point which is that Mahi Mahi does really have kind of a tuna taste. I for one can appreciate that.

Thanks Day for starting this thread.

JustJo 06-18-2010 06:43 AM

And 3 will change their signature lines to reflect the opinions that they felt others truly "didn't hear" in the light bulb conversation....

“I can't stand a naked light bulb, any more than I can a rude remark or a vulgar action.” ~ Tennessee Williams ~

Medusa 06-18-2010 07:22 AM

I'll add just a few :) :

11 to post photos in the gallery of their sexy lightbulb

4 to talk about how a lightbulb once ruined their credit and therefore, they will never buy another lightbulb but will instead use skylights

2 to email the Administrator to say that the entire lightbulb conversation is inappropriate and how dare they allow it to continue

1 to threaten to shut down the website by calling the Attorney General because the lightbulb conversation is violating their First Amendment rights

At least 18 to report the poster who started the lightbulb thread and demand that they be thrown out of the community.

9 to change their avatars to lightbulbs to show their solidarity with the poster and their visability as lightbulb supporters to the rest of the site.

1 to make inappropriate and random sexual comments to everyone who posts in the lightbulb thread.

1 troll to start an entire blog devoted to how "stupid" the lightbulb conversation is.

2 to start an alternative website for people who dont want to have to look at conversations on lightbulbs every time they log on.

1 to write anonymous emails to the thread starter, site owners, or anyone who participated in the thread telling them that people "do no love them".

56 to "white knight".

2 to "Joan of Arc".

1 to "rabid dog"

1 to "town cryer"

3 to "nervous nelly"

and a partridge in a motherfucking Queer-ass pear tree. :|

Cis-lights have no place in a lightbulb community.

Sorry I draw the line at cis-lights. I have to deal with them all over my bathtub and at romantic dinners. I value my lightbulb centered space!!!

I wouldn't feel comfortable if candles, torches and bic lighters were allowed to hang out here. It would feel icky and priviledged.

blush 06-18-2010 08:23 AM

I'm really tired of everyone speaking FOR the lightbulb community.
