Anyone for WoW?
So is there anyone here that plays WoW? (World of Warcraft) I'm on Echo Isles and my main is a level 74 nelf druid named Aurial. If anyone plays, feel free to say hi. Maybe we can start our own guild in game. Now that would be cool.
|
I've got a couple of characters on Kilrogg: a level 35 Tauren Warrior and a level 80 Tauren Hunter. I dunno if I trust you Alliance types.. *eyes SnowSong carefully* :sunglass:

Mare and I have a few Horde toons on the Nazjatar realm, but we've stopped playing for the season. We usually start up again in the winter months.
I have a 70 undead warrior, a level 61 undead warrior, a low level blood elf hunter and an even lower level blood elf paladin. When we sign back up, we're finally getting the Wrath expansion. (We're a bit behind expansion-wise.) :) For the Horde!~ |

Taurens start out in the Barrens and I find the Barrens to be soooooooo boring. It gets more interesting when you are a higher level. I've 'tried' Alliance when my server was down, but I couldn't get into it. I am thinking of starting a RP toon... maybe I will when we sign up again. |

I really like playing nelfs. Their areas are so beautiful and natural. My favorite place is Auberdine. |

Catalysm should be out this fall but I'd seriously would like to see if we could create a BF guild on a server, even RP, and have some fun with it. :) |

The BF server sounds like a great idea - would be nice to play with "family". :) |

I posted this question in the other WoW thread - but has anyone upgraded to Pandaria yet?
BTW - Best Buy has the expansion for 19.99 - those interested may want to check their local stores. |
Oddly enough, I JUST installed WoW (not Pandaria- I'm talking brand new to the game). I got a groupon for Wrath of the Lich and two months game time for $16... just downloaded it, and I'm SOOOOO lost.
I'm not brand new to RPGs- I used to play on a couple of MUDs back in the day... but this high tech stuff, whoa. I chose a human Alliance Hunter (I know, I know, so boring of me), then logged off in a panic when he (I mean I?) began shooting arrows at the training dummy repeatedly, and I was afraid I'd use up all my ammo, and I don't know how to stop, so yeah... I logged off. Heh. So at least I know how to log off. Help? I suppose this is where reading that 126 page Getting Started manual might help....except it's 126 pages. :| |

It's kind of tough to walk you through the game, my suggestion is - practice. A lot. Since you are new and probably Level 1, there isn't much damage you could do to yourself. You'll probably die a lot, but who hasn't? Once you get the swing of things, I'm sure you'll find it addicting like most WoW players. :) Oh and - I haven't played too many MMO's, but I've found that so far, WoW stands alone. Between the graphics and the playing content, it's pretty versatile and should keep you busy for hours on end. :) |

Yeah, what server are you on so my Horde toon can whoop your ... :|
Oh, sorry. Sometimes I'm not proficient in controlling my competitive urge. :) ;) |

But I don't have it in me to play Alliance. I tried, didn't find it interesting. But I'll do it to help JD out. :) |
Aww! Thanks for not kicking my ass :)
Um, how do I figure out which server I'm on? I created a new character, a warrior- thought I'd go as simple as possible. Amazingly, I leveled... no clue how to sell back all those damn balroc skins. Or whatever the hell I just killed 6 of. Oh, and when I enter fight mode (um, when the circle turns red), is there a way to refine my fighting? Am I just locked in the roll of the dice at that point? |

oh man...when i first started i would play for 16 hours a day (i was unemployed, so this was okay). I think I still have a lvl 80 mage on Area52, but that server is so horde heavy there's no point being alli. Don't hate, i like rooting for the underdogs.
Pandaria...well...i've purposely avoided following the releases because I don't think I can afford to play anymore. Now I might have to do some research. |

And the 5 levels (85-90) is a challenge. The last level is something like 20Million experience points.. |
no bueno! I can't imagine grinding the XP to level without a strong guild and lots of time for raids/runs. Although...
My curiosity is making me consider crazy things like server switching and spending every free minute playing... lol Quote:

50% off pandaria expansion
And then I stumbled across this during my research...50% off pandaria expansion pack until the 29th... |

I have a few others on Nazjatar, but haven't played there in a while. |

http://wiki.norganna.org/w/images/c/...CharScreen.jpg When you say - refine your fighting - what do you mean? As you level, you will gain new talents and fighting skills and essentially it will take practice for you to become proficient. That in itself is a mastery in the making - you may want to consult your guide book to explain fighting techniques/ talent trees, etc. When you are a low level, there aren't many fighting options. As you level up, you will get more options. Oh and go to a vendor to sell anything you might have picked up - be careful not to sell items such as weapons or clothing that is better than what you already have. |

*earperk* whoa there...nobody is EVER from Area52!! You just made my day! |

If you're Horde - add my name to your friends list - maybe I'll see you around in December/January. :) I have a few others on Area 52 - lowbies that I haven't done too much with. |

I just earned "Charge", but no clue how to use it. But when I posted previously, I was specifically talking about how sometimes in the middle of a fight, both characters just kind of stop and stand there and pant. I know that there is built-in recovery time between swings and such, but sometimes it seems longer, so I just wanted to see if there was something I should be doing to speed it up (if it was waiting on a command from me or something). |

http://gmaskew.com/pictures/wow/oldinterface.jpeg (See these bars on the bottom? That's where you put your new "spells") All I play are warriors for the most part - charge will allow you to charge your opponent and stun him for a few seconds while you get in some hits. Again, because you are low level, it will seem like it takes forever to kill something. I love charge. And intercept. But that will come later. If you click your computer looking icon, a settings menu will display - you can add more bars to your menu bar - I usually set it up so I have bars on the bottom and the side. Believe me, you will need all of them eventually. |

Found a vendor, and I see how to buy...but can't figure out how to sell. I think what's making this aggravating is that it's intuitive enough to figure out what I'm supposed to do next, but not intuitive enough to know how to do it. I can see how this will suck up all lots of time once I get my sea legs! |

It's really not that hard once you do get the hang of it. Don't give up :) I'm looking forward to some whoop ass! ;) |
RyRy and I play on bronzebeard and both have level 90 nelf hunters, we have a few other toons as well and would love to hang with ya'll. we mainly play alliance but would roll some hordies if that's what everyone is doing. We both have MoP and are very active players. Let's get a guild together guys!

Here's a link I think you will find quite useful:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/guide/getting-started It'll help you understand your interface and how to play the game. :) |

Mare and I are going to start up again after Christmas (She's too busy to start playing now). I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if something gets started. I'd love to join in :) |
Okay...so... I'm level 40, so I'm getting the hang of this game... but I can't help but think I'm missing a LOT. For instance.. I was level 38 before I figured out I could be getting around on a damn horse rather than walking everywhere. And now I've got a faster horse, so I guess I'm up to speed (har har) on that aspect of the game.
I'm completely solo... well, I did accept an invite to join a guild, gnome pride or some such, but I can't see the perks. Oh, and it's not like I know how to talk on the different channels anyway. I see trade, general, guild channels... then non-player stuff shows up there too (We're under attack! We're under attack!), so I end up tuning it all out. I did find myself in a dungeon the first (and last) time I ventured into the Badlands. They were easily killed solo, but after about 30 of them with no end in sight, I got a little bored and annoyed, and bailed. What do you get at the end of a dungeon, anyway? I confess that /dance never fails to amuse me. Must learn more commands like that. Or maybe how to talk to others. |

Okay, it's offish. I'll be making my way back after christmas. I bought my partner a trial to see if she likes it. Either way, I am down. I"m on Area52, alliance. A52 is REALLY horde-heavy though. I'd like to change servers but I hear that's expensive. Is it worth rolling a new toon? I remember putting in hours to get it to where it's at now...
Is there a relatively balanced server that we are all on? (or that most of us are on?) |

Also, can someone explain guild levels to me? One guild was 3, another was 14. Do I hold out for the highest number to invite me? ...lol |
