Songs You Had Or Want Played At Your Wedding
Ok so I thought this is sappy but would be fun. So, Im starting this thread for all of us to post the song's or lyrics of the songs we want played, sung at our wedding. Or for those who have already had weddings/ceremonies, what music did you have played.... For starters, I want this song played :
Who is next ? :) |
Weddings are for DANCING!!!
|
Since this is posted in the romance thread, I will have to go with this one
|
|
Although I love Adam Sandlers Wanna grow old with you. This is the song I would like to walk down the aisle to. |
This is for our commitment ceremony that will take place next October. The songs are both meaningful to us, so we incorporated them.
To walk down the aisle: Debbie Gibson: Lost In Your Eyes http://youtu.be/8Ms3mJFkSeg For the first dance: Faith Hill: Breathe http://youtu.be/yCmsZUN4r_s We're trying to figure out something special and upbeat for the conclusion of the ceremony. Any suggestions? |
Before I say my vows I wanna have the song above I posted played...
I also want played somewhere in there : |
Thank you all for your responses so far :) I love listening to different songs... Yall know Im just a big ol sap :)

My sister had this as her wedding song, back in 1977, when she married her high school sweetheart, Andy. And yes, she had it as recorded by the great Barbra Streisand. I still think it is the best wedding song, ever. (f) So this, in honor of my big sister, my best ally and my best friend. :winky::awww: ~Theo~ :bouquet: |

I, personally, like this one. :) ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
Etta James - At Last
|
Percy Sledge When a man loves a woman.
|
Marvin Gaye Let's get it on.
|
My stepdaughter sang this at our wedding in 2004.

Our Wedding
We had some great music in our wedding mix, but some of my favorites:
This one was played as we left the minister after being married (a surprise to me by my love): And our introduction to the dinner party as a married couple: And our first dance song (We had a live band, and they did a great job with this one): We had a wedding music mix, a cocktail hour mix, a dinner mix and then the live band after dinner. It was a magical afternoon/evening and I wouldn't change a thing,,other than maybe going back and doing it again!!! Glynn |
It's irrelevant but I must share:
Song I NEVER will play at my wedding(if I liked them) "All You Need Is Love" |
As a professional singer, I sang probably over 1,000 weddings in my lifetime.......I sang some real crap. I sang very little real music.......from Purcell's "Sound the Trumpet" to "Good Ship Lollipop" (I kid You NOT!)...........
So I KNOW that if I ever get married, my music will NOT be what's "in" or "hot" or "on the charts". I will choose ~ HOPEfully with the help of my partner ~ something meaningful, unique and memorable. Mushy crap is not an option. I know. Surprise, surprise! |

My dearly departed and I had the following in our wedding from a favorite movie of ours:
|
God Gave Me You Bryan White For all the times I felt cheated, I complained You know how I love to complain For all the wrongs I repeated, though I was to blame I still cursed that rain I didn't have a prayer, didn't have a clue Then out of the blue God gave me you to show me what's real There's more to life than just how I feel And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes And all that I live for though I didn't know why Now I do, 'cause God gave me you For all the times I wore my self pity like a favorite shirt All wrapped up in that hurt For every glass I saw, I saw half empty Now it overflows like a river through my soul From every doubt I had, I'm finally free I truly believe God gave me you to show me what's real There's more to life than just how I feel And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes And all that I live for though I didn't know why Now I do, 'cause God gave me you In your arms I'm someone new With ever tender kiss from you Oh must confess I've been blessed God gave me you to show me what's real There's more to life than just how I feel And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes And all that I live for though I didn't know why (didn't know why) Now I do (I finally do), 'cause God gave me you (God gave me You) God gave me you |

|
I would want a somewhat traditional wedding ...somewhat...
with a definate flare for some rock. |
on a beach in the Keys with all the kids, family and friends...group dance!!!
|
The song for my first dance was Etta James At Last.
Then for the last dance of the night I was lucky enough to have Mutt Lange first wife (before Shania Twain ;) Stevie Lange do a remix of Joe Cocker's You Are So Beautiful. That was a looooong time ago. But nice to remember the memory one more time. Musicman |
