Eyebrow Make-Up
 

Hello lovely ladies,

I use eyebrow pencils and have tried many, believe me. I don't get my brows waxed completely sinceI love the look of thick, dark brows and mine are not naturally that dark. I love them when they're arched.

I'm currently using Brow Wiz by Anastasia. I'd never heard of it until I walked into an Ulta a few weeks back not finding what I was looking for. This stuff is amazing! Perfect color (not too dark, not too light), glides on smoothly, but doesn't smudge easily.

What eyebrow product(s) do you use?? I'm open for any recommendations. I highly appreciate the time and effort many women (and men) invest onto their brows. If you're bored, please feel free to share pics of yours. I will.

I prefer threading and waxing always thins them out too much.

You know you can dye your eyebrows? Its 5 minutes usually, instead of 30.

I get mine waxed every two weeks. UNLESS Riley is due for a visit then he maintains mine for me.

When I use product on them, I use a tiny bit of the black eyeshadow I use to line my eyes. The powder clings to the hair but is easy to wash off. Since I use so little, I have never had a problem with it falling.

I don't use any kind of brow stuff now except a waxy product to keep them from waving hello! (By MAC, I think)

I have naturally long, thick eyebrows a la Brook Shields in the 70's but have plucked the crap out of them since I was in my early 20s to have the arch I have now.

I use another Anastasia brow pencil as well, I can't remember the exact name. I am a freak about my eyebrows as well. I have the WORST ones. I swear, I get them waxed and the next day I have growth, ugh. I try to get them waxed at least 2x a month. I also use tweezerman tweezers for maintance. They were 35 dollars, but worth every penny. I can get the really fine and short hairs. Ulta carries them.

All of my makeup is Clinique. I've tried so many other products and they irritate my skin to no end. I generally only wear mascara and a bit of lip gloss, but when I dye my hair (every 4 weeks) I take a q-tip and put just a touch of dye on my brows so they match my hair color. It works quite nicely! I only leave the dye on my brows for about 5 minutes, otherwise it starts to burn. ;)

I once went to the MAC counter with my best friend and ended up leaving with almost $400 in products. My then husband was FURIOUS and I was rather perplexed myself since I really don't wear a lot of makeup. Needless to say, I now try to stay away from people selling pretty, shiney stuff. ;) oh, and I returned everything the next day!

I have that done as well. It is so fast, and I don't have to get out the 10X magnifying mirror to see the little hairs. lol It is really inexpensive where I live, since the population of Abbotsford has a high Indo Canadian group. I seem to react to both waxing OR threading on my upper lip though. Any suggestions?

I've used MAC for a long while, then switched to Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay and not been too happy with any of their brow kits. I think dying them is the best solution but, if you wash your hair as much as i do, they end up fading fairly quick..not sure there is a product line out there that has the answer for me altho I enjoy trying new things out..so it's all good:hk13:

I had to smile when I read this about buying $400.00 worth of skin care and makeup products. I know for years I would feel SO overwhelmed when I would attempt to buy makeup and such. The choices, prices, promises, and sales ladies all wanted to convince me their product was the best. I either came out of the dept. store with a bunch of over priced stuff I did not need or simply left empty handed and frustrated.

I eventually came across a book by Paula Begoun, "Don't Go To the Cosmetics Counter Without Me." Paula is a skin specialist with several impressive credentials. She looks at all the major skin care and makeup companies and reviews each of their products one by one. It is a reference book. It is easy to look up just about any product that is for sale in the USA. My experience came about when I had bought some redness reducer from Chanel. $65.00 for a small tube of what promised to be my 'be all - end all' for facial redness. When I read Paula's review the primary ingredient was hydrocortisone. I just paid $65.00 for hydrocortisone. I returned it and educated the ever so chic sales lady as to the primary ingredient. She appeared clueless.

It might be worth a look at this book for anyone who is trying to find the best product for the best price. It reduced my frustration exponentially.

I tweezed my eyebrows for years, since I was about 12 years old. I haven't had to tweeze them for about the past ten years, but I use a trio of eye brow eye liner pencils made by Physician's Formula, in the Nude Eye Series. I use all three: the lightest colored pencil I use to highlight under the brow. I use the taupe colored pencil for my eyebrows, and I use the black pencil for my eyeliner. They're easy to use, and they're waterproof.

Hey ladies! I know this thread is about eyebrows (God knows I need to get mine waxed! lol) But I haven't made my 30 posts yet so I can't start a thread.

Though I was wondering if any of you have any tips for growing hair out? My hair has been long for years and I cut it due to a rough patch with SLE. And I really miss my long hair...that and I can't decide if the butch I've been flirting with for a bit likes it or not...all I know is even though the guy at the salon did a great job and what I asked but I can't stand it...I mean it looks good I just can't stand it. So any hair growing tips would be great...I am taking hair skin and nail vitamins. :) Have an awesome day!

Thank you so much Gemme!! I will try it! Do you know of a brand? But I will look into it! I am taking hair skin and nail vitamins and just recently bought Mane and Tail (I know a lot of equestrians who use it and have great results too.)
