The Crying Game: Jaye Davidson, Stephen Rey, Forest Whitaker, Miranda Richardson

Not really a lesbian movie, nor is it "feel-good", but one of my favorites. IRA agents, including Fergus (Rey), kidnap Forest Whitaker's character and before he dies, Fergus agrees to visit his girlfriend in London (Davidson). There's a twist that shocked audiences in 1992 but today would be "Oh, ok".

Do you throw the M&M's in the popcorn container for that sweet & salty taste or just eat them separate?

Return To Me. 2000 David Duchovny, Minnie Driver Bonnie Hunt

An endearing romantic comedy infused with real life humor. Life can change in an instant and it does for Bob Rueland and Grace Briggs. A lonely Bob is embraced by Grace, who is surrounded by a coterie of substitute mothers including her Irish grandfather, who with his Italian brother-in-law run a Chicago restaurant. Although Bob and Grace are strangers at the start of our story, their lives are soon forever intertwined by fate.

Average Rating: 7.2/10
Reviews Counted: 44
Fresh: 39
Rotten: 5

Critics Consensus: The utterly gorgeous special effects frequently overshadow the fact that The Abyss is also a totally gripping, claustrophobic thriller, complete with an interesting crew of characters. (Bring popcorn)

homoe 02-23-2018 05:55 PM

LOVED the Abyss.......Rotten Tomatoes, not so much!

IMHO Rotten Tomatoes caters mainly to more modern and mainstream movies! If you're seeking reviews on older classics movies or those off the beaten path of yesteryear, finding some on their site is going to be few and far between! Also they don't offer nearly as much info on cast members, script writing credit, directing credit, etc etc as IMDb does for instance.

While Rotten Tomatoes may be fine as an appetite, for my main meal I'll always need to look elsewhere.......:movieguy:
