Repost from another thread.

~*~Translucent Eyes~*~

I gaze into your translucent eyes,

As my mind is drawn within.

A world of many truths and lies,

Reflecting now and then.

Your secret desires never told

Of things you've wished to be

Protective walls built very strong

Created for personal safety

A glimpse of Innocence shining through

From things you do not know

Yet an unwavering sense of maturity

Of which you clearly show

Hidden emotions of fearful thoughts

Tucked away for none to see

Those making you feel vulnerable

From being all you can be

A proud secure woman, head held high

With integrity and confidence

You present yourself with pride and grace

That everyone can sense

Its Been To Long...

Its been to long since we have seen your face,
our hearts are so broken we feel out of place.

Everything has changed since you went away,
Your smile, laugh & love is missing everyday.

We wish you were still here & never had to go,
its so hard to be here & not watch you grow.

Wondering what you would be like today,
But now all we can do is pray.

Pray you are happy & healthy above,
and that your getting so much love.

Pictures of you always make us smile,
and we try & remember that your only gone for awhile.

We will see your face agan in Heaven so high,
when we finally get the chance to fly to the sky.

Shay never forget that we love you so much,
and we are forever missing your touch.

So fly high sweet angel & spread those wings,
and we will see you someday with your angel wings.

In tribute to my step daughter: Shay Shay

And no I am not crying...just sharing...smiles

May we not succumb to thoughts of violence and revenge today, but rather to thoughts of mercy and compassion. We are to love our enemies that they might be returned to their right minds.

William Parrish: Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. I say, fall head over heels. Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back. How do you find him? Well, you forget your head, and you listen to your heart. And I'm not hearing any heart. Cause the truth is, honey, there's no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, cause if you haven't tried, you haven't lived.

The Cloud
by
Percy Bysshe Shelley

I bring fresh showers for the thirsting flowers,
From the seas and the streams;
I bear light shade for the leaves when laid
In their noonday dreams.
From my wings are shaken the dews that waken
The sweet buds every one,
When rocked to rest on their mother's breast,
As she dances about the sun.
I wield the flail of the lashing hail,
And whiten the green plains under,
And then again I dissolve it in rain,
And laugh as I pass in thunder.

I sift the snow on the mountains below,
And their great pines groan aghast;
And all the night 'tis my pillow white,
While I sleep in the arms of the blast.
Sublime on the towers of my skiey bowers,
Lightning, my pilot, sits;
In a cavern under is fettered the thunder,
It struggles and howls at fits;

Over earth and ocean, with gentle motion,
This pilot is guiding me,
Lured by the love of the genii that move.
In the depths of the purple sea;
Over the rills, and the crags, and the hills,
Over the lakes and the plains,
Wherever he dream, under mountain or stream,
The Spirit he loves remains;
And I all the while bask in Heaven's blue smile,
Whilst he is dissolving in rains.

The sanguine Sunrise, with his meteor eyes,
And his burning plumes outspread,
Leaps on the back of my sailing rack,
When the morning star shines dead;
As on the jag of a mountain crag,
Which an earthquake rocks and swings,
An eagle alit one moment may sit
In the light of its golden wings.
And when Sunset may breathe,
from the lit sea beneath,
Its ardors of rest and of love,

And the crimson pall of eve may fall
From the depth of Heaven above,
With wings folded I rest,
on mine aery nest,
As still as a brooding dove.
That orbed maiden with white fire laden,
Whom mortals call the Moon,
Glides glimmering o'er my fleece-like floor,
By the midnight breezes strewn;
And wherever the beat of her unseen feet,
Which only the angels hear,
May have broken the woof of my tent's thin roof,
The stars peep behind her and peer;
And I laugh to see them whirl and flee,
Like a swarm of golden bees,
When I widen the rent in my wind-built tent,
Till the calm rivers, lakes, and seas,
Like strips of the sky fallen through me on high,
Are each paved with the moon and these.

I bind the Sun's throne with a burning zone,
And the Moon's with a girdle of pearl;
The volcanoes are dim, and the stars reel and swim
When the whirlwinds my banner unfurl.
From cape to cape, with a bridge-like shape,
Over a torrent sea, Sunbeam-proof, I hang like a roof,--
The mountains its columns be.
The triumphal arch through which I march
With hurricane, fire, and snow,
When the Powers of the air are chained to my chair,
Is the million-colored bow;
The sphere-fire above its soft colors wove,
While the moist Earth was laughing below.

I am the daughter of Earth and Water,
And the nursling of the Sky;
I pass through the pores of the ocean and shores;
I change, but I cannot die.
For after the rain when with never a stain
The pavilion of Heaven is bare,
And the winds and sunbeams with their convex gleams
Build up the blue dome of air,
I silently laugh at my own cenotaph,
And out of the caverns of rain,
Like a child from the womb,
like a ghost from the tomb,
I arise and unbuild it again.

Quoting ~>> Annie Proulx

(I really like her style of writing)

By January it had always been winter.”

“It takes a year, nephew... a full turn of the calendar, to get over losing someone.”
Annie Proulx, The Shipping News

“You stand there, braced. Cloud shadows race over the buff rock stacks as a projected film, casting a queasy, mottled ground rash. The air hisses and it is no local breeze but the great harsh sweep of wind from the turning of the earth. The wild country--indigo jags of mountain, grassy plain everlasting, tumbled stones like fallen cities, the flaring roll of sky--provokes a spiritual shudder. It is like a deep note that cannot be heard but is felt, it is like a claw in the gut... Other cultures have camped here a while and disappeared. Only earth and sky matter. Only the endlessly repeated flood of morning light. You begin to see that God does not owe us much beyond that.”

― Annie Proulx, Close Range

“If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children,
I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life,
as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantments of later years, the sterile preoccupation with things artificial,
the alienation from the sources of our strength,”

~ Rachel Carson
(The Sense of Wonder, 1965).

The way you live your day is a
sentence in the story of your life.
Each day you make the choice
whether the sentence ends with a period,
question mark, or an exclamation point.

Engrossed in, or perplexed by
